JOB DESCRIPTION
Under the supervision of the Lead Artist, you will work within a multidisciplinary team of artists on an unannounced project.
Thanks to your expertise, you will be responsible for creating the project’s environments while adhering to the creative and artistic direction in alignment with gameplay and narrative. You will develop and integrate these environments with high aesthetic and technical quality, considering the specificities of the game engine.
Your Responsibilities:
- Work autonomously on Level Art implementation and ensure the graphical composition of in-game environments.
- Adhere to the artistic direction while bringing originality and creativity.
- Model environments and create textures while respecting the game’s artistic vision.
- Understand complex game design documents to grasp environments, objectives, atmospheres, story, and style to create immersive levels.
- Master artistic software tools relevant to the tasks.
- Demonstrate strong artistic skills.
- Understand technical constraints related to platforms and game engines.
- Efficiently use project and data management tools.
- Collaborate closely with Level Designers to integrate game elements.
- Provide guidance to less experienced artists.
- Ensure proper integration of created assets while considering technical and gameplay constraints.
QUALIFICATIONS
Your Expertise:
- A degree in 3D modeling, fine arts, or equivalent.
- Expertise in designing and composing 3D environments within a game engine.
- Strong artistic sense, with experience in realistic 3D environment design and composition.
- Excellent knowledge of the game development process and the interactions between artistic, design, and technical disciplines.
- Good ability to research and document.
- Understanding of technical constraints related to platforms and game engines.
- Ability to model and texture complex, optimized environments while adhering to artistic and technical constraints.
- Propose innovative and coherent ideas and concepts aligned with the artistic and creative direction to enrich the game's visual universe.
- Collaborate with Level Designers to bring game levels to life.
- Engage, exchange, and share expertise with the entire Environment Art team.
- Solid basic drawing skills.
