DevOps Infrastructure and Tool Reliability Specialist

JOB DESCRIPTION

As part of the Production Online team that helps productions deploy and operate the online game component, the Infrastructure and Tool Reliability Specialist is responsible for deploying different versions of the games/projects on multiple environments.

 

Using existing technology and new advancements, they're also responsible for the stability, performance and success of game/project deployments, as well as the design and development of the server and network infrastructure that hosts the games.

 

The Infrastructure and Tool Reliability Specialist will adopt the DevOps philosophy to automate, operate and maintain our cloud gaming infrastructure. The Infrastructure and Tool Reliability Specialist will also work on pipelines, to deploy and manage resources on Kubernetes and be accountable of the observability of the game server infrastructure stack.

What you’ll do

  • Design, build, deploy, monitor and maintain various secure environments for high-performance games.
  • Prepare, configure, test, deploy, manage and improve ongoing integration and deployment systems.
  • Work on pipelines, to deploy resources on Kubernetes (using helmchart, api calls, terraform).
  • Be accountable of the dashboard/collector of the observability stack (ex. Prometheus, Loki and Grafana).
  • Implement and maintain game deployment guides and document the implementation and technical specifications of network and server infrastructures.
  • Design the server infrastructure and ensure its development for games combining Windows and Linux servers.
  • Prepare scripts for automating infrastructure deployment.
  • Diagnose and correct anomalies (ex. collection and analysis of metrics and logs).
  • Participate in peer review of the quality, reliability and reusability of systems and procedures.
  • Evaluate and integrate new technologies and best practices.
  • Keep up to date on DevOps trends and technologies.
  • Act as a reference and expert in all aspects game production DevOps.
  • Help design and execute infrastructure load tests.
  • Perform all other related duties.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

What you bring

Education:

  • University degree in computer science or other equivalent training

 

 

Relevant experience:

  • 5 years experience computer science or relevant field
  • Administration: GNU/Linux server, Windows server (an asset) and network concepts (NAT, Proxy, TCP/IP, etc.)
  • Cloud infrastructures (AWS, Google, Azure, etc.)
  • Configuration and environment management tools and practices
  • Working with large-scale infrastructure
  • Database configuration and administration with MySQL, MongoDB
  • L1 – L2 technical incident prevention and resolution

Skills and Knowledge:

  • Proactive, dynamic, autonomous and motivated for new challenges
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication skills (French and English, written and spoken)
  • Results-oriented, client-oriented
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Solid experience with source management tools (Git)
  • Solid experience with Linux and Unix operating systems
  • Solid experience in at least one of the following languages: C#, Python, Golang
  • Strong scripting skills (Bash, Python)
  • Strong knowledge in AWS or Azure, mostly for access management, Kubernetes and container registry.
