Ubisoft Announces New Leadership for Creative Houses and Creative Network

Ubisoft has announced new leadership appointments as it continues the rollout of its Creative Houses operating model. Julien Bares will join Ubisoft as General Manager of Creative Houses 3, focused on high-intensity live experiences, and 5, dedicated to casual and mobile play, while Thomas Andrén has been appointed General Manager of the Creative Network.

Ubisoft’s Colorblind Simulation Tool, Chroma, Now Available For Public Use

Chroma, Ubisoft's colorblind simulation tool, is now available for public use after several years of internal use and development. With an estimated 300 million people around the world affected by colorblindness, Chroma allows developers to accurately replicate their experience and create accessible content to meet their needs. The open-source tool works by applying a filter over the game screen without hindering performance.

Assassin’s Creed Shadows – Building the Next Generation of Assassin’s Creed

When Assassin's Creed Shadows launches on March 20th, it will be the first entry in the franchise built solely for current-generation hardware. Knowing this, the development team at Ubisoft Quebec wanted to do things that had never been done before on Assassin's Creed, or that frankly couldn't have been done before.

CEO Yves Guillemot on Ubisoft’s Upcoming Portfolio, the Future of Assassin’s Creed

After the excitement of Ubisoft Forward earlier in June, we were able to briefly sit down with CEO Yves Guillemot, who was feeling reflective after the whirlwind June showcase season. Among other topics, Guillemot discussed the future of Ubisoft's videogame portfolio, gave us a hint of what's to come from the Assassin's Creed series, and mused on the evolution of longstanding game genres and of the industry itself.

Activision Blizzard Games Coming To Ubisoft+

Ubisoft today announced the signing of an agreement which will give Ubisoft cloud streaming rights to games like Call of Duty and more, coming into effect upon the completion of Microsoft’s acquisition of Activision Blizzard. The agreement includes the complete slate of current Activision Blizzard games, as well as all their new titles launching in the 15 years after the closing of Microsoft’s acquisition of Activision Blizzard. The games will land on Ubisoft+, while also allowing Ubisoft to license them to cloud gaming companies, service providers, and console makers.

How the Games Industry Can Create Better Support for Neurodiversity

From October 10-14, Ubisoft is hosting its third annual Neurodiversity Awareness Week, with a series of internal events and panels aimed at raising awareness and challenging stereotypes around autism, ADHD, and other neurological differences. The events are being organized by Ubisoft's employee-led Neurodiversity ERG, which offers programs and support for members, and works with Ubisoft management to find ways for the company to better support neurodiverse employees.
