JOB DESCRIPTION
As a Storage Architect at Ubisoft Montréal, you will design and guide storage solutions that align with our technology strategy and business needs. You will support engineering teams by providing clear technical direction, scalable architectures, and thoughtful recommendations across on‑premises and cloud environments. The Storage Architect plays a key role in shaping long‑term infrastructure decisions and enabling reliable, secure platforms.
What you’ll do
- Define long-term storage strategies aligned with organizational goals and industry best practices
- Research emerging technologies, run proofs of concept, and share clear recommendations
- Design and maintain storage architectures for data centers and cloud environments
- Produce technical documentation, architecture diagrams, presentations, and prototypes
- Translate complex technical concepts into clear messages for non‑technical stakeholders
- Guide and support engineering teams through design reviews and implementation choices
- Promote continuous improvement and knowledge sharing across infrastructure teams
- Ensure solutions meet performance, scalability, and reliability expectations
QUALIFICATIONS
What you bring to the team
- Strong knowledge of software-defined storage technologies such as NFS, SMB, S3, Ceph, and similar systems
- Proven ability to design complex storage architectures across on‑premises and cloud platforms
- Solid understanding of data protection and disaster recovery, including backup and replication strategies
- Experience with infrastructure as code and automation tools like Git, Ansible, Chef, or equivalents
- Good grasp of storage security best practices, including encryption and access controls
- Clear and collaborative communication skills with technical and non‑technical partners
- Ability to work closely with infrastructure, application, and security teams
- A learning mindset and interest in evolving storage technologies
