Passerelles numériques (PN) is a French non-profit organization that provides tech and IT education to underprivileged youth. PN provides scholarships and helps students find an internship with its partners and provide them on-the-job training.

Through its partnership with PN, Ubisoft sponsored the housing and schooling of two batches of students from the University of San Carlos (USC) in Cebu, Philippines. The scholarship has produced 20 successful graduates – the first batch graduating in 2019 and the second one following suit in 2022.

Here, discover the testimonies of Royena, Maricar and Eugene from the first promotion of 2016.

Beyond the scholarship, Ubisoft Philippines has also been actively involved in providing career advice and other donations to the students.

In 2021, the studio hosted an online meet and greet with the scholars, where they asked Ubisoft developers about the AAA game development process and what it takes to build a successful career in the industry.

In 2022, following typhoons that ravaged the Visayas region including Cebu, the studio sent over donations to the students and their families to aid in the recuperation effort.

Then, during the graduation of the 2nd batch of students, Ubisoft Philippines sent over congratulatory gifts containing notebooks and other Ubisoft merchandise to the successful graduates.

The graduation marked a milestone for the students, securing a brighter future for them and their families.

Ubisoft Philippines remains committed to supporting local communities and building the game development industry. To learn more on the studio’s initiatives, visit their career website, philippines.ubisoft.com.
