At Ubisoft, we believe that gaming should be a positive, inclusive, and empowering experience for everyone. As part of our ongoing commitment to player well-being, we created the Good Game Playbook: a practical guide designed to help players build healthy habits, navigate online interactions safely, and enjoy gaming with confidence.
First launched in 2023, the Good Game Playbook was created with input from gaming mental health charity Safe in Our World to ensure psychological accuracy and accessibility for all audiences.
This initiative is part of Ubisoft’s broader mission to foster safe, inclusive, and positive online spaces, empowering players of all ages to engage with games confidently and respectfully.
__About the Good Game Playbook __
Developed in collaboration with gaming mental health charity Safe in Our World, the Good Game Playbook provides clear guidance to help players manage online toxicity, regulate emotions, and practice self-care. It offers practical tools to encourage respectful engagement, emotional awareness, and a balanced approach to play.
To make it accessible for everyone, we created a specific version of the guide for each Ubisoft age group, tailored for the needs of the target audience.
For children, the Good Game Playbook for Kids introduces the principles of healthy and positive gaming. It helps young players understand what toxicity is, why balance matters, and how to protect their privacy while playing online. It also builds self-awareness by encouraging reflection on how games make them feel and how their actions can affect others. This guide goes hand in hand with the parent’s guide.
The Good Game Playbook for teens, designed for teen gamers, expands on the foundations introduced in the Playbook for Kids with a stronger focus on personal responsibility and self-awareness. It empowers teens to make informed choices, manage emotional responses, and contribute to a respectful and enjoyable gaming community.
For adults, the Good Game Playbook focuses on informing and supporting both those experiencing online toxicity, as well as those perpetrating it, to recognize warning signs, cope with anger and negativity, and practice self-care.

It includes tips on choosing age-appropriate games, guiding children through online interactions, and maintaining open conversations about digital well-being.
To support players across different regions, all four resources are also available in Portuguese, German, and Spanish.
