Life at Ubisoft Bordeaux during the covid time

Share:

To keep the studio alive and keep a bond between our employees, we had to adapt to the constraints imposed by the Covid crisis. Without face-to-face events, we had to offer digital alternatives to our employees. The year that has passed, although special, has been punctuated by digital events and the sending of small gifts across the city and sometimes even across France! In September, we offered our teams to gather online for our Annual Internal Meeting, an event which allows us to meet in person in an emblematic place in the city, and that had to be adapted to an online version. Our collaborators ended up meeting on Teams for a fully digital event. On the menu: presentations about the studio and its projects and exclusive videos. Whether it was from the comfort of their home or at the studio, all our collaborators received a box filled with goodies to celebrate this special occasion: a breakfast to start the day the right way and a unique studio teddy vest! Christmas time usually brings lots of excitement because it allows our studio to share a night with the rest of our French colleagues. On-site meetings still being impossible in December, we had to offer a digital alternative to our employees, once more. This time, to make it an event as friendly and unifying as ever, we offered them a more exchange-oriented format. Each one received a mixology kit that contained everything needed to mix their own Christmas cocktail. The recipe was created by a firm we partnered with and was follow step by step, live, during the online event to which our colleagues participated in. We also chose to give the spotlight to some volunteer talents from the studio by creating a “Ubisoft Bordeaux’s Got Talent” show that was streamed during the event. Our collaborators were very happy to live this moment together, drink their cocktail and discover their colleagues’ talents! Finally, in March, to celebrate reaching 300 employees and bring our teams some good vibes, we sent them a “Good Mood Box”. It was a box created with hand-picked and ecofriendly products: a mug, a seeded card, tea bags, some appetizers, a pair of socks designed with the studio’s projects and last but not least, a made in Ubisoft Bordeaux calendar that was made by our Artists. We keep on adapting to the situation to make life at the studio and from home the best possible and to encourage exchange between our collaborators who have sometimes been teleworking for a year. See you soon for new digital events and hopefully on-site ones too!
