BHAW Award - Better Heath at Work: Health & Wellbeing at Ubisoft EMEA CRC

Share:

It’s been just over a year since the CRC embarked on our Better Health at Work adventure and we have accomplished many health & well-being initiatives and tackled a range of awareness campaigns. The BHAW process recognises the efforts of employers addressing health & well-being within the workplace with support & endorsement from Public Health England.

Embedding BHAW, with guidance from HR & Senior Managers, into our workplace reinforced our genuine care & commitment to the health & well-being of all our CRCers.

We like to do things differently at the CRC and with so many creative team members we have championed their ideas & inventiveness to bring a little joy and familiarity, especially while working from home. It is important to have an element of fun in our approach to supporting well-being and a bit of friendly competition works wonders! We've got so much to share, take a look at some fantastic snippets of what the CRC have been up to over the past year.

By listening to our teams, we were able to determine which areas required focus and provide support where they needed it the most. On top of our already amazing well-being perks offered at the CRC, we have delivered engaging campaigns covering healthy eating, encouraged our teams to stay active by moving more with a steady focus on mental well-being. The CRC & our MHFA team are extremely passionate about challenging mental health stigma, supporting the needs of our employees and working together to make positive changes in our approach this includes tackling national awareness campaigns close to our heart.

During the past 12 months, we have created home-made video workouts, hosted cooking competitions, took part scavenger hunts, mystery brew sessions, Watch Dogs Legion cycling challenge, through to successfully taking part in MHFA England’s My Whole Self campaign. In more than one instance, through national cancer awareness campaigns, plus activity generated by BHAW has helped individuals identify early stage signs of possible cancers and seek professional assistance.

Following submission of our hefty evidence portfolio and virtual assessment in February this year, we are thrilled to pass BRONZE LEVEL with exceptionally positive feedback from the assessors and coordinators at the BHAW programme. Alongside this we have been granted the SPECIAL RECOGNITION award for the Newcastle district for our work in establishing a firm foundation in adopting healthier behaviours and positive lifestyle changes.

Next step is our journey into the Silver Award covering a wider range of subjects. We can’t wait to get back out on around Newcastle with our Couch to 5K programmes, social running groups, digging in our community allotment and embracing what 2021 has to offer!
