It's been a remarkable few months for the mobile version of Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown — and for the Ubisoft Da Nang development team behind it.
The game has been honored across some of the most respected stages in mobile gaming: Premium Game of the Year at GamingOnPhone, Best Platform Game at the Pocket Gamer Awards, and Best International Game at the TapTap Game Awards. These aren't just accolades — they're a reflection of the craft, dedication, and ambition that went into every build.

The recognition extends beyond awards ceremonies. The game received nominations from the Apple Design Awards, Unity Awards, and the App Store, pointing to strong industry-wide acknowledgment of what the team achieved. That momentum carried into GDC 2026, where the project was featured in a talk on UX challenges in mobile porting — sharing real insights on what it takes to bring a high-end experience across platforms.

The numbers tell their own story too. The game has surpassed 3 million downloads and holds a 4.7/5 rating across mobile platforms. It also marks Ubisoft's return to Mac after many years — a milestone in itself.
Beyond the player reception, the team successfully adapted the game for the Chinese market, with the mobile version already released earlier this year. This expansion is a clear demonstration of the studio's ability to bring quality experiences to new audiences and territories.
To close the award season on a particularly meaningful note, the game was honored at the Vietnam Game Awards with Best Graphic Design and Best Gameplay. Being recognized on home soil makes this achievement especially significant — a direct acknowledgment of the talent and commitment of the team here in Da Nang.

This journey started with a clear ambition: to establish a flagship reference for Metroidvania games on mobile. That meant preserving the depth, challenge, and identity of the original while fully adapting it to mobile — from controls and performance to accessibility. None of it would have been possible without the trust and foundation built by the Ubisoft Montpellier team.

The result is an experience that stays true to its roots while reaching a much broader audience. And that's something worth celebrating together.
“A heartfelt thank you to everyone who made this possible: Ubisoft Montpellier, Worldwide QC, DAAS Singapore, Flagship, Release Management, Ubisoft Mobile China, Mobile HQ — and every team here in Da Nang. This success belongs to all of us.” – Said Alexis Fischer, Ubiosft Da Nang’s Studio Manager
