Mentorship Program
More people are playing video games today than ever before, and this mentorship offers a chance to nurture future talent while encouraging creativity and new ideas. By opening our doors to individuals from groups historically underrepresented in the industry, we aim to give aspiring young talent the chance to gain valuable experience and share their unique perspectives.
From January to May 2026 (with exact timelines varying on location), selected mentees will work on a project based on a given theme. They will be mentored by volunteer Ubisoft developers, including from our mobile studios, who will provide feedback and guidance throughout the mentorship to help them develop their own personal project.
GAME DESIGN
In the Game Design track, you will pitch a design concept outlining your intentions and its impact on player experience. You will also follow the production journey of a Game Designer at Ubisoft, working towards developing a prototype plan.
PROGRAMMING
In the Programming track, you will develop and submit a game using either C++ or C# with a freely available development tool, such as Unity for mobile.
Specific to Toronto: In this technical challenge, you will have to submit a game made entirely in C++ using a provided API.
AUDIO
In the Audio track, you will create and submit an original sound design using a freely available digital audio workstation (DAW) or middleware tool, such as Wwise. You will design and integrate audio for specific events — for example, animations, ambiences, and interactive elements — ensuring the sound design fits the overall visual style.
