We are beyond thrilled to have embarked on the first chapter of the Rainbow Six Asia-Pacific League as the Stage 1 of Season 2020 has just kicked off with the first playday of the North Division.

A few changes will come to Stage 1, so let’s take a look at some key updates coming to the Asia-Pacific League:

asia-pacific league - stage 1 format adjustments

As the health and well-being of our teams, developers, players, partners, and audience is our first priority, Stage 1 of the Asia-Pacific League will be adjusted to fully online formats, tailored to the specific structure of the region while maintaining the competitiveness of the program. Here is breakdown of the upcoming changes:

• North Division: at the end of Stage 1, the 6 highest placing teams will advance to the Six August 2020 Major – North Division, where they will compete online in a Bo3 Single Elimination bracket leading up to a Bo5 online Finals.
• Oceania: at the end of Stage 1, the top 3 teams from the Oceanic Nationals will advance to the Six August 2020 Major – Oceania, where they will compete online in a Gauntlet. This means that the 2nd and 3rd ranked teams will compete in a match. The winner of that match will then defy the top-ranking team from the Oceanic Nationals in a Bo5 Finals.
• South Asia: The four best teams coming out of the South Asia Nationals Closed Qualifiers will play in the Six August 2020 Major - South Asia. This tournament will be played online as a series of Bo3 matches into a Bo5 grand final.

In Asia-Pacific, the $125,000 total prize pool for Stage 1 will be split as follows. As a reminder, an additional prize pool will be allocated for the teams qualified for the Six August 2020 Major. You can check the breakdown here.

Iana and Oryx have finished their three-month grace period, and will now be added to the Asia-Pacific League operator pool.

cosmetics update

The following uniform and headgear cosmetics are whitelisted for use in competition: Pilot Program 1 and 2 team skins, Pro League Gold sets, default skins, and all future esports skins to be released as part of the Phase 3 program. All other uniforms and headgear are banned from competitive play. There are no restrictions on weapon skins or charms.
