Presenting the BLAST R6 2024 Season!

January 23, 2024

After our first year of BLAST R6 in 2023, we've been working on preparing what our 2024 season will look like. Using the opportunity of learnings and feedback from 2023 we have made refinements to our ecosystem to ensure we continue improving our leagues and events offerings.

We have a few core changes to the R6 Esports ecosystem we're excited to share with you now, such as adjustments to Major qualification paths & slots, SI points, Regional league formats and more. Be sure to stay tuned to the Six Invitational 2024 for additional esports announcements.

six invitational point system

For the 2024 season, we will update the Global Point System through which teams qualify for the Six Invitational, by putting more emphasis on teams' results at Majors.

Regional competitions will award less points overall and the number of points awarded for each placement in regional competitions will be flattened with less difference in points earned from one placement to the next. Additionally, reaching the playoffs phase of a Major will be rewarded with more points, and placing amongst the bottom 8 teams of a Major won't be rewarded with as many points as the last season.

Through these changes we still want to reward consistency and teams' ability to qualify to Majors while better rewarding the teams that make a deep run in the biggest competitions of the season.

  • Point distribution

    • Regional: 100, 95, 90, 85, 80, 75, 70, 65

major qualification & slots

Further to our review of the ecosystem, we have made adjustments to the way in which teams qualify to Majors, and the slots afforded to particular regions. We continue to see this as an evolving part of the ecosystem and will remain under review each year to provide the best experience to both teams and fans alike.
