THE PLAYER COUNCIL GUIDELINES

Last update: 08/2026

Download document

The Player Council aims at supporting your passion for our games, giving you inside access to projects at various stages of development, including new game concepts and prototypes as well as evolving experiences for existing games on PC.

If you join the Player Council, you can begin to play available projects and start sharing your feedback with the developers! The Player Council will also connect you with a community of other participating players, and you will have the opportunity to discuss ways to make the game experiences even better.

By joining the Player Council, you agree to follow these guidelines throughout your participation. Failing to respect them — particularly around confidentiality and conduct — can lead to sanctions, including removal from the Player Council.

PREREQUISITES & RESTRICTIONS

In order to join the Player Council, you need to connect to an existing Ubisoft account or create one. Please review the Terms of Use for additional help in setting up and securing your Ubisoft account.

Additionally, before joining the Player Council, please ensure that:

  • you are at least 18 years old and have the right and full capacity to enter the Player Council;

  • your Ubisoft account has never been banned (temporarily and/or permanently) from any Ubisoft game.

Please note that:

  • the Player Council launches in a soft launch state. It won’t be feature complete at launch and will be an evolving program;

  • territorial and other restrictions may apply, preventing you from joining the Player Council or accessing certain projects.

TERMS OF USE & CODE OF CONDUCT

Help us make the Player Council as enjoyable as possible for everyone involved. These guidelines are incorporated by reference into the Terms of Use and together make up the entire agreement between Ubisoft and you in relation to your participation in the Player Council.

By registering with the Player Council, you acknowledge and agree that you will be required to comply with the following rules. Failure to do so could result in being banned from the Player Council. Here is a list of forbidden conduct that may lead to the end of your participation (this list is not exhaustive):

  • Engaging in or encouraging any behavior, language or publication of content deemed dangerous, threatening, abusive, obscene, vulgar, defamatory, hateful, racist, sexist, ethically offensive, constituting harassment, bullying or otherwise deemed illegal, by any applicable local, national or international law or regulation, including towards any other Player Council participant, any Ubisoft representative, or any member of the broader Ubisoft community, whether through physical, verbal or written abuse.

  • Having sanctions applied to your Ubisoft account, whether it is the consequence of a breach of these guidelines or of a breach of the Ubisoft Terms of Use, and whether it is related to behaviors you had as part of the Player Council or as part of any other game or service.

  • Breaching the below listed confidentiality obligations, and the ones further detailed in the confidentiality agreement(s) you may have to sign to access confidential content and/or information as part of the Player Council or any other program.

Please note that Article 7 of our Terms of Use contains additional details on our rules to maintain a friendly, safe and fair environment, including contact details and a broader non-exhaustive list of prohibited behaviors. Please make sure to read them carefully.

Any suspected breach of this code of conduct will lead to investigation by Ubisoft. Ubisoft reserves the right to take measures that are necessary to enforce the code of conduct and the Ubisoft Terms of Use, including without limitation ending your participation in the Player Council.

WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT FROM THE PLAYER COUNCIL

We may, from time to time, share with you content and/or information, or offer you the opportunity to take part in specific playtests. This may include, for example: early access to unreleased games and features, the ability to be among the first to try new prototypes, and the opportunity to share feedback directly with our development teams.

Your dashboard will show a mix of available and locked experiences:

  • Some playtests may offer you to try new features of already released games. If so, you will need to own the game on a compatible platform in order to participate.

  • For some playtests, access may be limited to players familiar with the relevant genre, based on information you voluntarily share with us.

  • New experiences may become available to you over time, based on your contributions on the platform at your own pace — including new prototypes and unannounced or unreleased builds. There is no obligation to unlock everything; this simply reflects what's currently most relevant to offer you.

You acknowledge and accept that the unreleased games and features you may have access to are non-final. As such, they may present bugs and crash, as further detailed in Article 13 of the Terms of Use.

Please finally note that, while we will take into account your enthusiasm and feedback, we also want to remind you that not all games or prototypes you get to try will launch as a final product. Some may be discontinued for a variety of reasons, at Ubisoft’s and the game or prototype team’s sole discretion.

CONFIDENTIALITY

You understand and agree that, through your participation in the Player Council, Ubisoft may share with you information that is confidential. Such confidential information is the result of a significant investment of time, effort and expense by Ubisoft, and its disclosure could result in serious harm to Ubisoft. You therefore understand, agree and undertake to keep such information strictly confidential by not disclosing it to any third party, including but not limited to through social media or Internet websites (YouTube, Twitch, etc.), without Ubisoft's prior written approval.

Concretely, this notably means:

  • No sharing of forum comments or discussions outside the Player Council.

  • No screenshots or video captures of any content, in-game or on the Player Council website.

  • No discussion of anything you've seen or played through the Player Council.

You acknowledge that we may end your participation in the Player Council, apply additional sanctions to your Ubisoft account and take all legal actions necessary to protect our confidential information in the event of unauthorized disclosure.

Please finally note that such confidentiality obligation will also fully apply to any and all discussions and sharing of confidential information and content that may happen, at our initiative only, on third party platforms (official Discord channel, etc.) about the games, prototypes of features you test as part of the Player Council.

USE OF YOUR FEEDBACK

Feedback submitted through the Player Council will be reviewed and evaluated by our teams, but we cannot guarantee that every piece of feedback will result in a concrete change to the games and that you will receive a reply from the game team.

You agree that Ubisoft may be free to use, adapt, or implement it, on an unrestricted basis, without any obligation to compensate you, credit you, or inform you of how it was used. Any resemblance between your feedback and future content, features, or updates does not entitle you to any right, claim, or compensation.

NATURE OF YOUR PARTICIPATION

Your participation is entirely at your discretion and voluntary, with no expectation of any form of compensation. Nothing herein shall be construed as creating an employer/employee relationship. You shall be free, at any time, to decide not to be part of the Player Council anymore.

UPDATES TO THE PLAYER COUNCIL & THESE GUIDELINES

We may decide to update, modify or stop the Player Council in the conditions set forth in our Terms of Use. We may also update these guidelines to take into consideration evolutions brought to the Player Council. Make sure to read them on a regular basis.
