This past year, we have been working on the competitive format for the Rainbow Six Esports Asia-Pacific regional program, and as part of this process, we are happy to unveil the new promotion/relegation system for the North and South Divisions. Drawing upon insights from last season, we have reworked the relegation system for this year, as teams looking to ascend to the 2022 season of the Asia-Pacific North and South Divisions will compete in this revamped relegation tournament at the end of this year.
Find all the details on the new promotion/relegation structure for Asia-Pacific below.
At the end of the season, the 2 bottom teams in both North and South Divisions will battle it out during the relegation tournament against the top-ranking teams from the Asia-Pacific national scenes tying into each program.
- Automatic relegation has been removed. The bottom 2 teams in the North and South Divisions at the end of the season will have a chance to fight for their spot in the relegation tournament.
- Each national program tying into the North and South Divisions will now have 2 representative teams in the relegation tournament.
Here is how the relegation tournament will play out, taking into account the seeding from teams in the national and regional programs.
