Saturday Night Wrist turns twenty this year, and the album that took Deftones furthest from anything resembling a formula gets four of its songs on Rocksmith+: "Beware", "Cherry Waves", "Kimdracula" and "Rivière".
"Cherry Waves" is the one to start with. Chino Moreno has described it as a song about how far trust between two people actually goes, and the arrangement matches that patience, all space and slow build rather than impact. It is also the clearest demonstration of what makes this record a rewarding one to play: the weight is in the tuning and the restraint, not in speed, so the bass and lead parts reward feel over technique.
