The Battle For Brooklyn DLC launches today in The Division 2, bringing a new narrative campaign with new missions, skill, Hunter riddles, an exotic gear piece, and more to discover. The DLC is included in the Gold Edition and new Ultimate Edition (which released April 23) , and is also available for standalone purchase in both Standard and Deluxe editions (requires the base game).
Today also marks the launch of the The Division 2's latest season - Crossroads - which brings new seasonal modifiers and gear incorporating elements reminiscent of The Division, the game that started it all. Furthermore, The Division 2 is now available through Xbox Game Pass and Ultimate subscribers can unlock the free EMS Outfit for a limited time starting on May 29. To help encourage newcomers, players over level 40 who respond to in-game Calls for Backup will earn extra rewards for the next two weeks. This is part of a new Project Chain Event and there will be an Exclusive Named Weapon for those who complete it.
Battle for Brooklyn
The new Battle for Brooklyn DLC takes place across two new neighborhoods - Brooklyn Heights and Dumbo. While some areas may seem familiar from the first moments of The Division, much of these neighborhoods is new for players to explore. The season is autumn, brightening up the tree-lined streets with fall colors for the first time in the franchise, and the story is set a few months after the events of the Warlords of New York expansion. No prior knowledge of recent seasonal storylines is required, so it's suited for both veteran and new players alike.
The fate of the Brooklyn settlement is in jeopardy as the relative peace of the borough has been shattered by The Cleaners. They have crossed the river armed with a deadly weapon called Purple Flame. This enhanced type of fire doesn't just burn---it causes Corrosion, a layered effect that combines initial burn damage with ongoing armor degradation. Agents caught in the blast will need to act quickly; Armor Kits can remove part of the effect, while stepping out of combat will gradually clear the damage over time.
Previously spotted in a select few missions, the Purple Flame is now being mass-produced by The Cleaners and is fueling their invasion of Brooklyn. As they play through the campaign, Agents will confront The Cleaners head-on as they investigate the nature of this new threat and seek to shut down Purple Flame production, all while contending with the Rikers who have also added fuel to the Brooklyn fires.
The campaign spans three main missions (off-site, offering a greater bespoke story experience on your first play through), as well two Story mission and four replayable World Missions that are replacing the Side missions and being accessible from the open world for the first time. The DLC comes with a level 40 boost, so players can access the new content right away.
Exclusively in Brookly, Control Points will have interesting challenges based on the faction that controls them and their alert level. There is also a new band of Hunters for players to hunt, posing eight new riddles and eight masks as unlockable rewards.
New Skill - Smart Cover
Smart Cover returns to The Division 2 as a remake of the beloved version from the first game. It's a versatile skill that will be unlocked throughout the DLC progression and can be used in both PvE and PvP, granting players the flexibility to use it with offensive or defensive strategies.
When activated, players will deploy a projectile that sticks to surfaces (ground or walls), creating a specific radius of effect. Inside this area, all agents with cover become Reinforced.
Base Stats:

Duration: 30s
-
Cooldown: 45s
Smart Cover bonuses do not stack, and shooting a NPC will destroy its projectile and refund the skill with a cooldown of 5 seconds.
The Smart Cover skill has two variants: Precision Smart Cover (PCS) and Fortified Smart Cover (FCS). Each one provides different buffs, encouraging players to test them both and find their best playstyle.
Precision Smart Cover
This variant is ideal for offensive strategies, as it grants enhanced weapon handling, damage and automatic reload on swapping weapons to all nearby covers.
Base | ST1 | ST2 | ST3 | ST4 | ST5 | ST6 | OC | |
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
Radius | 5 | +10% | +20% | +30% | +40% | +50% | +60% | +100% |

Fortified Smart Cover
This variant is ideal for defensive strategies, as it grants extra armor, resistances and immunity to stagger effects, which means that explosions will not force players out of cover.

The "Crossroads" Season
Launching together with the DLC, the new Season Crossroads is free for all players who own The Division 2 and brings a suite of new challenges and rewards. The Manhunt Scouts this season focus on the deep-cover retrieval mission of a Division asset embedded in the Sokolov Concern organization who needs to be extracted. The seasonal Modifiers - some of which are available from the start of the seasonal journey - are reminiscent of elements from The Division.
Crossroads also delivers new gear to unlock through season pass progression (including both free and paid rewards), as well as quality-of-life enhancements, better onboarding for new players, and an increase in season pass XP across all activities. A Division 2 Twitch Drops campaign is active to celebrate the launch of the DLC and new season, offering free in-game goodies for viewers who link their Ubisoft and Twitch accounts and fulfill the viewing requirements. A summer event is on the way as well, and you can learn more about it, as well as get in-depth details on the new gear and updates, in the Patch Notes.
The Division 2 is available on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PS5, PS4, Amazon Luna, and PC via Ubisoft Connect, Steam, and the Epic Games Store, as well as with a Ubisoft+ Premium subscription.
