Pro League Season IX Returns March 11th, 2019

March 6, 2019

The Six Invitational has ended, and G2 Esports managed to maintain their title as World Champions for 2019! While the teams take a few weeks to rest and recover, preparations for the second half of Season IX, set to kick off on Monday, March 11th, are underway. There have been a few changes to the league since we left off, so let’s take a look at what changes will be in store for the second half of Season IX:

Unfortunately, the team known as Orgless (previously under the banner of Noble Esports) has disbanded, and will not be returning to Pro League. Two of their former members, Acid and Krazy, will remain in the Pro League scene however after joining forces with Rise Nation, replacing Beastly and GhxsT.

The loss of Orgless will mean that each remaining team in NA Pro League will receive an automatic 7-0 win during the second half of Season IX. This also means that there will only be three NA Pro League matches every night, with the team who was scheduled to play Orgless that week receiving a week off.

This also means that the first place Challenger League team at the end of the Challenger League season will be auto-relegated into Pro League, replacing Orgless who will be in 8th place. The seventh place Pro League team will continue to play a relegation match against the second place Challenger League team, as rules state.

To better accommodate our new production schedule, EU Pro League will be moving from Thursday to Friday evenings. The starting time will remain the same, kicking off at 19h00 CET.

Also, after the beginning of the season’s busy super weeks, here is a reminder of the day days for each region:

  • North America: Mondays
  • Latin America: Wednesdays
  • Europe: Fridays
  • APAC: Wednesdays & Thursdays

As announced during the Six Invitational, the additional earnings from the Road to the Six Invitational will be redistributed back into the competitive Rainbow Six scene. Look for more specific details to be communicated within the upcoming weeks!

Kaid and Nomad have finished their three-month grace period, and will now be added to the Pro League operator pool. Lion will remain in quarantine as we work to improve this operator for competitive play.
