Warrior's Den Recap - Y10S2 TU2

Warriors,

In our latest Warrior’s Den Livestream, we revealed everything coming in Year 10 Season 2 Title Update 2, including our newest Hero, Arakure. From lore and gameplay details to behind-the-scenes looks at animation and modeling, as well as updates on esports, balancing, and upcoming events, we shared everything you need to know about the next chapter of For Honor.

To kick things off, we showed the CGI Trailer for Arakure, giving players a first look at the newest warrior joining the battlefield.

Seasonal Roadmap & TU2 Overview

We began by taking a look at the Y10S2 TU2 Seasonal Roadmap, highlighting all the content arriving throughout the update.

Players can look forward to:

• The arrival of the new Hero, Arakure (July 23rd)
• Free Event – Arakure’s Audacity (July 23rd –August 13th)
• Throwback Event METAL TRIALS with Game Mode and rewards form Test Your Metal (August 13th – Sept 3rd)
• New weapon rewards
• Upcoming Hero Fests:
  o Berserker – August 20
  o Virtuosa – August 27
  o Jormungandr – September 3

We also announced the return of Starter Dominion for two weeks, from July 23rd to August 6th. This version now features five maps in rotation: Quiang Pass, Citadel Gate, River Fort, Canyon and Temple Garden. This mode now includes Stamina, Feats, and Revenge, offering an experience that remains welcoming to new players while staying true to the core For Honor gameplay loop.

New Hero Details

We then revisited the story of the season and recapped the events of TU1.

During the segment, we learned that Arakure was present during the Sohei massacre at Khatun’s banquet, further connecting her to the unfolding events of the season.

We also explored Arakure’s personality and identity. A street fighter and rebel at heart, she rejects tradition and refuses to be constrained by established rules. Her story brings a new perspective to Heathmoor and adds another layer to the ongoing conflict.

New Hero Gameplay

Next, we took an in-depth look at Arakure’s combat style and unique gameplay mechanics with live gameplay. We showcased her fighting style, explored the flow of her moveset, and highlighted what makes her distinct from the rest of the roster. We also explained how her Feats support her playstyle and introduced her unique Power-Up Bar mechanic, detailing how players can build and utilize this resource during combat.

This segment showcased how Arakure's aggressive and unconventional approach translates into gameplay.

Arakure Animation

We then went behind the scenes to explore how Arakure’s animations were created.

We broke down one of Arakure’s executions and highlighted the work that goes into bringing these moments to life, from initial concepts to final implementation. Using MotionBuilder footage, we walked through the entire animation process, demonstrating the different stages involved in creating the high-fidelity combat animations that define For Honor.

Arakure Modeling

Following the animation deep dive, we explored the artistic process behind Arakure’s visual design. We discussed the textures, materials, and fine details that helped shape her appearance while ensuring she remained true to her identity and story. We also showcased the different armor variations and weapon sets available to players, highlighting the level of customization that will be available when Arakure joins the battlefield.

This segment provided a closer look at the craftsmanship and attention to detail that went into bringing the Hero to life.

Throwback Event Returns

We gave players a closer look at the return of Test Your Metal in a brand-new event, Metal Trials, running from August 13 to September 3.

This fan-favorite experience gives players another opportunity to challenge some of For Honor's most memorable opponents while also earning some of the game's most iconic event rewards. Whether you're revisiting these legendary encounters or experiencing them for the first time, Metal Trials is the perfect opportunity to test your skills and expand your collection with sought-after event loot.

This segment gave us a closer look at the event, its rewards, and what players can expect when it returns later this season.

Esports Update

During our Esports segment, we discussed the latest developments in the competitive scene and reviewed the most recent 4v4 tournament results.

Balancing Update

The spotlight then turned to the balancing changes and gameplay improvements arriving with TU2.
