Community Spotlight – Spammals

Hello Captains! We're back with the latest edition of our Community Spotlight series. Today we're shining the spotlight on a Keeper of the Code and Content Creator, Spammals.

Hey Spammals, can you tell us a little bit about yourself? How long have you been a member of the Skull and Bones' Community?

Spammals: Pirates, I just think they're neat! I've been creating content around the internet for over 10 years now and at this point I'd say the majority of my time has been focused on Piracy! From singing Sea Shanties to all out PvP brawling I just love the genre, there's so much scope for adventure!

I joined the Skull and Bones family early on play testing the game. It was a surreal time seeing the game come together. NPCs didn't have voice actors and entire parts of the game getting remade! It was so exciting when the game went Open Beta and the world got their hands on it for the first time.

What does Skull and Bones and the community mean to you all?

Spammals: From my experience some of the best memories I've had come from community focused encounters. During the Open Beta we rallied the community and took over an entire server, then with our low-level ships set out for a massive show down against Fort Premie. It was the BEST kind of chaos! So many ships swarming, cannons blasting all around. That's a memory I'll always remember and it's all because of the community.

What's your favourite thing about being a member of the Skull and Bones community?

Spammals: The Skull and Bones community doesn't care for the internet drama. They just wanna have fun! Over the years since launch some amazing content has been added and it's been great jumping in to check it out!

What advice would you give to a player picking up Skull and Bones for the first time?

Spammals: This is your story. Your journey. Your experience. Don't feel pressured to get things done or worry about what others think or say. Let the game speak for itself and embrace the story, the stunning visuals and be open for a little bit of mayhem!

Tough question time, what's your favourite part of Skull and Bones? And why?

Spammals: STORMS! Hands down I love a good storm. Fighting a convoy with the ship crashing into giant waves, the spray hitting the deck. The sky cackling with lightning! It's always a thrill for me! I'm a strange one opting to play 99% of the time in 1st person so for me it's extremely immersive! And when focusing a ship there's often something that catches me by surprise!

If you could tell the Community anything about Skull and Bones what would that be?

Spammals: I'd like to mention how dedicated and passionate the dev team are for the game. We're 2 years post launch and they're still doing their very best to deliver experiences and story for the players. When negative voices online project their hate, the dev team powers forward all the same. They're amazing people and deserve a lot more love and appreciation.

Tell us 3 cool facts about yourself

Spammals: I play guitar. I have a shiny Charizard AND I collect retro video games, notably having 80% of the Nintendo 64 (pal) games library.

Thank you so much for your time! Is there one last thing you'd like to say to the readers?

Spammals: Hey! If you read this far, I think you're pretty amazing! Feel free to swing by the live stream sometime, I'd happily sing a shanty for yee!

Thanks for reading and I hope you have an amazing time in Skull and Bones!

Make sure to tune into Spammals stream where he'll be streaming most days Monday to Friday and watch for an hour to earn the emblem "Mayhem Bringer". You'll have until the 11th November to earn the drop.
