This is nothing new...
It feels like whole different teams are working on different stuff and dont communicate with each other. The team that did the festival clearly didnt know at all that it is impossible to get foreign supplies after you got everything from the store.
Ubisoft still wasnt able to release any new content for Valhalla without breaking other stuff or make finishing it possible. I wasn able to fisnish any of those live events at day 1 because they all got issues which prevented me from doing so. Did Ubisoft learn from those mistakes...clarly not. I think 2 people are working on those events and clearly arent able to test everything. Just stop those time limited events alltogether because they are not fun at all and last for maybe 30 minutes of content (most of it grinding for tokens and replaying the same boring stuff to get some more boring useles stuff).
The only highpoint now was the short-sword but it looks like useles crap and it look horrible when sheated (because it gets smaller in size and than bigger when in use). It looks like a toy weapon that is broken and full of blood. This is a great gift Ubisoft...thanks a lot! Now buy the DLC if you want proper looking swords (which also will shrink in size when sheated).
"We deployed two server-side hotfixes today. #AssassinsCreed
1. Addressed an issue that prevented players from using Guaranteed Assassinations after acquiring the Shoulder Bash ability.
2. Removed a placeholder box from River Raids"
Ohh, actually Ubisoft is able to fix annoying bugs more often...but only if they affect their microtransactions! I am sure they never would have bothered in fixing the assassination bug before the next patch if there wasnt this purple box that gives us paid armor for free.
Exploits regarding XP, silver or any microtranactions are their highest priority it seems. No need in fixing quest related bugs as fast as possible. We could always wait 4 weeks for patches right?
Where are news about the next title update? The 5 weeks are over today and we heard not a single word about any updates. Even on the PS5 Database is nothing to be found. Ubisoft are able to go back to the every-2-weeks-release-cycle for microtransaction gear packs but made us wait a whole week longer for updates. No they are even silent about them and silently make 6 weeks just because a story DLC (just for buyers) was released in between?
I still do not care about the DLC because i still want a polished main game first. Release updates a little bit faster and tell us more about them earlier. This is just terrible handling of updates for a broken game.
Update 1.2.2 added to the database. Hopefully it will be filled with content and bugfree. Maybe they will release it this thursday to announce the good stuff on E3 and let us wait another 5 or 6 weeks...
Here are some photos I made pretty early in the game (the first one is pretty new). Before I got tired of the bugs, bad performance and lack of bugfixes:
@daelosthecat
I played Origins recently and the cloth physics in Origins is by far better than in Valhalla. Just look at Bayek's clothes or when you climb on a building and move under some cloth. In Origins it reacts physically correct but in the game where they finally added a cape (Valhalla) the cloth physics is completely broken.
Even in Valhalla it seemed to have been better at one point short before release as seen here:
Here are some suggestions to Ubisoft that would improve gameplay with a cloak a lot:
It would be a pleasant surprise if Ubisoft just adds one of those things but i really don't believe in it. At least i don't give up hope and would wish that they try to improve the game more and stop focussing on microtransactions.
I also have this issue (PC). I can't talk to the guy...wow wait again for 5 weeks...
@max18400
I expect just 3 maps with repeatable river raids. I will play them to get the books of knowlege and the new weapons and armor and this is it. Why should I care replaying stuff like that in an singleplayer game?
In Origins i played those giant godly bosses just until i got the new armor.
I would prefer more quality of life enhanements that make the base game better and faster releases of the story DLC's.
Communication is pretty bad in Valhalla. Monthly update blogposts would fix this problem but they strangely didn't do this anymore with Valhalla. They could announce something on monday or next week or the week after. This is the problem...we simply don't know when they will say something or what will come. Surely in march there will be a stupid seasonal event again but this is also something i don't care for.
The highest priority should be bugfixing and polishing the base game. Afterwards they can add what they want or think we like. Not everyone has finished the game in the first week. I started playing in december and still did just two arcs. I read about all those bugs and scared that they come to me too and break my game. So i am just waiting for more than 4 weeks now and forgot what happenend in the story. Basically I need to start a new game or watch story videos on YouTube to remember what happenend until where i am now in the game. When i load into the game i am just standing in the middle of nowhere and dont know what i did before or was planning to do.
This is why i dont like singleplayer story games to be live service games. I want to experience those games in my own pace without being forced to wait for bugfixes or standard features to be patched in before i can go on playing.
Same for me...and still no reply from Ubisoft...
@coach811981
Because Ubisoft clearly put no effort in optimizing thoe events. They just put everything into the settlement without thinking about performance. It is just too much stuff to handle if you have a team that doesnt even try to optimize all this stuff.

The sword looks like a toy weapon...
It isnt enogh that it looks like a broken useles weapon...it also has to look like a toy when sheated. Also why the hell didnt Ubisoft made a proper animation where Eivor puts the sword back with his right hand to his left side. They just reused the beard-axe animation. I am currently playing Nioh 2 and that game had amazing unsheat animations. Earlier AC titles also had those animations but now we just can press the attack or block button and the weapon suddenly appears in Eivors hand.
Didn't they say the next patch would fix this? Well, another lie from Ubisoft. Like the lie with the update cycle every 5 weeks which ended up being 6 to 7 weeks.
There seems to be a fundamental problem with all the items we get from events. The same thing will surely happen with the short-sword. At some point it will bug out and disappear or downgrade with the next update. Ubisoft didnt release a single bit of content for Valhalla that doesnt had annoying bugs.
Why does people even bother posting in this thread? This is one of the biggest topics in this forum and Ubisoft doesnt care a single bit in fixing these issues. Not a single patch had a single note about PC-specific performance improvements. Just the copy-pasted "performance and stability improvements" which where never done. Crashes just get more and more and performance stays the same or gets worse with every update...
I also have this issue (PC). I can't talk to the guy...wow wait again for 5 weeks...
@hidden1ne
I also have this issue. It is better than the annoying message that always appeared but still pretty amateurish from Ubisoft.
This shows me how proper they test theor updates. Did really nobody see that they fixed the "Bonus Content Unlocked" message but not the tattoo set always reappearing? It was clear that the message also was linked to those tattoos and many in this forum said that but still they just fixed just one issue. Great that they fixed the more annoying one but still this paints a pretty bad picture on their "improved" testing which took 7 weeks instead of 4.
I also just leave them in my inventory which i never look into because the UI is terrible and I never find what I search for. It is filled with runes without any sorting or stacking and just badly designed from the core.
All in all I can live with this issue but we still have a long, long way to got until this game reaches a proper version 1.0 and leaves the beta status.
@ubi-borealis
Firsts tests with the new update show, that this issue seems to be fixed. Hopefully it stays like that. I will test it further but currently it looks fine.
The update is downloaded and at first everything seems fine. Lets see if i experience any new bugs. Hopefully now i can finish the main story and put this game down until next year and all the content is released.
Performance still is bad in places like Fornburg and I see no improvement in performance at all. The save issue seems to be fixed now and Jomsvikings also dont change their gear when reloading.
This is all I've tested in the first 5 minutes. I will test more later. It is too hot now to stay at home and play. My PC will probably melt in these temperatures and high load with Valhalla.
@azullfr
I have the Xbox One Elite Series 2 controller on PC and even with everything tweaked for best experiences in ego shooters, aiming in Valhalla isnt possible at all times. Without any aim assist it really gets impossible to hit anything. I am not a ego shooter player and not that good at aiming but I never had problems in other games with bows or guns.
