@devilkazuya83 there's no such thing as new memory system for nvidia gpus. i don't know where did you get info or what you're talking about. can you please cite some credible, valid sources for your claims?
3080 has low vram because Nvidia skimped, gimped and scammed its userbase again, no other explanation. it will run into more issues as we venture into nextgen, and they will expect you buy their 16 gb 4070-4080 gpus. sorry to startle your stuff, but it is what it is.
@alex_murphy-_ you don't understand. rbar on nvidia gpus do not work "globally". even if you have it on, it wont be activated for games unless nvidia specifically enables it for it.
471 driver does not enable rebar for far cry 6, whereas 496 driver does. you can simply check and confirm it yourself by observing nvidia inspector registries
and rbar increases vram consumption in the majority of the cases
@croowen Okay, a dear question, can you try going back to 472.12, then turn off RBAR, and try if the texture problem persists?
If it magically gets fixed by RBAR off + 472.12, in that case we may have found our offender. But if it s going to be hassle for you, I wouldn't hold it against you, thank you
@croowen I want to ask you a crucial question, is RBAR enabled for you? This is critical, since the latest Nvidia update is the one that activates RBAR utilization for Far Cry 6.
If that's the case, the textures getting fixed may actually be related to RBAR being disabled for the game, since the older drivers do not enable RBAR for Far Cry 6.
If not, discussion may continue on. But this is an important fact to check. I would even ask some people to disable RBAR and try the game again and see if they run into same texture issues. If you don't have RBAR enabled, this has nothing do with you obviously, but worth a check.
