Here is what I've unsuccessfully tried as a workaround so far:
- Exiting game then reloading save
- Killing Dag (who shows as a hostile NPC after starting the mission) - his health bar shows and he has some dialogue but nothing happens after you kill him
- Meditating
- Leaving, completing something else, and returning
- Building a settlement after starting the mission
Absolutely nothing works. I really hope it's not another 2 weeks until the next patch, because 1.04 certainly didn't fix a thing.
Hi, I'm currently playing Valhalla (PS4, Update 1.04) when I came across what seems to be a bug - several dozen hours ago after reaching settlement level 3, I built Valka's seer's hut but didn't proceed with the "Dream's" quest that she gives you (where you pick the thistle around her hut). I was reminded by a friend that it is a quest I ought to do, but when I return to her hut, there is no quest or prompt to speak to Valka. I can still pick the thistle but still have no prompt. There is no eye icon on the map indicating that I have already done the quest. Would very much like help, thanks.
Also, can confirm the Dreams quest does not show up as a completed quest or as an actively available quest.
Here is a short clip of the bug:
Encountered a small but very annoying issue when upgrading armor at the settlement. Every time I enter the armor upgrade menu, within 2-3 seconds of my moving my cursor, the inventory menu quickly fades out and resets to the top. To further explain this (I didnt have time to upload a full YT video on it): I approach the blacksmith in the settlement; this opens the menu with all of my armor and weapons; I move the cursor down to select a piece of armor or a weapon; after a short time (2-3 seconds at most), the entire menu fades out and the cursor and menu is reset to the very top at "Currently equipped". This basically means that it becomes impossible for me to actually move the menu down to upgrade an unequipped piece of equipment or have time to highlight any piece with the cursor to make a decision. I am at the most recently updated version of the game, running on a base PS4.
@ubi-woofer Here is a second video showing the same issue but also showing 10 thistles in my inventory under "Quest items", even though (as shown in the previous video) the quest "In Dreams" does not appear in any quest lists and Valka does not display a dialogue prompt.
The game is updated to the most recent version on my PS4.
As far as uploading a save file, I do not have a way to do that, unfortunately.
@ubi-woofer I legitimately have no idea how to attach a save file from a PS4 to a support request. The articles you provide are of literally no help whatsoever because it only tells me how to find the save data file but not how to get it from my PS4 to my computer as a file that I can then compress. I am so frustrated by this. I have literally looked this up and the only articles I've found about it have said that even if you could extract a saved data file, it's encrypted as a file without an extension, so it's not even able to be opened on anything other than a PS4.
@ubi-woofer It has been happening since before the new update and still persists. I have tagged you in a thread I created *over a month ago.*
I don't mean to trouble you guys, because I know you all are doing your job and doing it as well as you can despite what details we give you (or lack thereof) but this game had so much promise to it from the get-go and now I've encountered not one substantial bug but *two*, with pretty definitive evidence that the second quest-breaking bug is based around the first ("In Dreams" is bugged, so I can't complete it, so I move on - now "A Brewing Storm" is bugged mostly likely because I couldn't complete "In Dreams").
I should have done what I did with AC: Odyssey and waited a while after it came out.
@Ubi-Woofer Here is an older thread I created last month regarding the Valka story mission "In Dreams" not appearing and there being no dialogue prompt for Valka, despite having plenty of thistles in my inventory. The video I sent you is also attached here.
On base PS4, AC version 2.00. I don't recall if I received the request from Valka to pick up thistle, but I know I instead went on with the main story quest. I have finished the Cent storyline but when I try and do "A Brewing Storm" I wake up after falling asleep and there are no objectives or cutscene with Dag and Dag is just a generic hostile NPC. I can kill him but the quest does not update.
I have also tried to go back to Valka to complete the In Dreams quest, with 10 thistle in my inventory, but there are no dialogue prompts above her head and the "In Dreams" quest doesn't even show in my available quests (nor does it show up as a completed quest).
@ubi-woofer
@blazedassasin42 This is the issue I'm having. I have 10 thistle collected but there is no dialogue option to speak with Valka and no "In Dreams" quest listed in the available Ravensthorpe quest list. I'm close to 70 hours in and between this and another bug I'm experiencing in the main quest line, I'm unable to continue further in the game.
@dereknorman4 I am in the same boat: over 65 hours in without a save before Cent, the Brewing Storm quest is bugged with no way to start the interaction with Dag, and I never did the Valka "In Dreams" quest.
But here's the ironic thing about that: I couldn't ever do the Valka quest because I had a bug very early on that made it so the "In Dreams" quest never appears as available and Valka shows no dialogue prompts. So I'm literally screwed BOTH WAYS in terms of progressing in the story. I can *literally* only do mysteries, wealth, raids, etc. It's so frustrating.
