I deleted and reinstalled, but after the beginning, just went straight to Valka's hut after I made it my Island. No raiding nothing and that worked for me.

It seems to work for some people. Delete your saved games, delete the game itself and then reinstall without installing the update. So you'll have to disconnect from the internet to avoid the download.

It may or may not work. It did for me.

They did that with Unity. The DLC's were all free.

Stop repeating this it's annoying and wrong. 2. The patch is what is causing people the problems. I updated to v 1.0.2, the game does it automatically if you're connecting to the internet. When I reinstalled and started a new game WITHOUT updating, I was then able to continue with the game.

Holy Crap! What an idiot. You can be angry about your game not working, you can post here about your game not working, but don't do this.

Because, like you said, all that does is set the devs back. Clear out the offices, stop freaking out, settle your nerves...thanks random moron, you showed them.

I'd like to think that there is no presence from them because they are hard at work trying to fix this. I love the Franchise and I really like Ubisoft, this is my first buggy game from them. I didn't get any of the glitches that people got in Unity with the exception of one, and I fell through my ship on Black Flag but that's it for any games from the Franchise.

I just hope their absence isn't because they don't care and are hard at work on a solution that isn't starting over.

I totally get the anger. It's frustrating, especially for people who did so much before progressing to the quest only to find out it's bugged. But wishing something on them that could potentially kill them is pretty messed up.

I expect bugs on day one releases, but not game breaking ones. Am I mad? Yep! I paid 80 bucks for something I couldn't play until I found a work around. But, I'm not wishing death on them.

That's it then. You rushed to do the quest. Others have not. Others, like me, have raided, found the wealth and mysteries in some areas, gathered armour and so on and then done the quest. That's where we run into the bug.

Try this...delete your saved data again, reinstall again, but before you do disconnect from the internet so the update patch doesn't load. That seems to be where some people are having the problem, the patch automatically installs if you're connected to the internet. The patch might be the issue.

When I deleted and reinstalled, I chose 'NEW GAME' which still showed the version without the update. If I chose 'CONTINUE' it wouldn't let me load without the update.

I know this is probably as clear as mud, but, I have a huge headache and words are not my strong suit right now.
