Is this announcement a new feature, or did I just never get it before? I have the same player dying over and over again, and the constant pings for a new quest are very annoying. Please turn this off!!!
Odin Sight and Set Trap are both activated by pressing and holding R3 on PS4/PS5. If I am in a brush next to a corpse and I want to use Odin Sight, it starts to set a trap instead. It is minor, but it can be an issue if the brush is small and I have to try to scoot away from a body while staying hidden. It's more of a design issue than a glitch.
While I'm on the topic, I have a couple of requests:
@martygod12 It doesn't bother me that much, but I really have no idea what the point of this "feature" was. I really hate the photos by other players. I wish they would stop cluttering up the game with this stuff.
I am a completionist in most games, but I am skipping many parts of this. There are too many minigames and side objectives that require too much time for too little reward. The minigames are very dull. I am at the point in the game where I am being forced to play Orlog and have drinking contests to continue, and I hate it. I really don't know if I want to bother finishing this game.
I don't...
Please do not waste so much time on these in the future. The main gameplay is far too lacking for these side projects. And never, ever force me to do them to progress in the main story.
Thank you for reading my complaints. I won't be pre-ordering in the future.
I have noticed that when the shop has a bow for sale, it doesn't say what type it is (light, hunter, predator). Am I supposed to go by a symbol or something? It seems like an oversight, but maybe I am missing something since I just started playing.
(I am not sure it is worth buying equipment versus upgrading it.)
I usually find the mini-games to be extremely boring, and this game has some of the worst I have ever seen. Fishing? Hunting? Drinking? Dice games? Did they deliberately take the most boring activities from real life and stick them in a video game?
Forcing us to play these is a horrible design choice. I shouldn't have to practice an almost completely optional mini-game just to pass one required point in the game I actually bought to play.
Wouldn't the better option be to get more opal per mission? It wasn't nearly this hard to purchase equipment in Odyssey. The cosmetic items don't cost as much, but I have no interest in those.
@caoskaotic This issue is not that I am having trouble with the fight. I beat Goneril with no problem. The issue is that the bug makes the fight drag on a lot longer because I am being flung across the arena and have to run back to Goneril over and over. If you see my other post, in the The Corpse Feeders fight, I was flung completely out of the arena, and one of the wolves got stuck in an animation and I could not damage it. I had to restart the fight to reset it. I beat that fight easily too. I'm not even taking damage. These are just major bugs that need to be fixed.
@victoruchiha82 It didn’t take me very long at all to buy all the possible weapons in Odyssey at the special shop. I never buy Helix credits because I find the whole concept to be distasteful and exploitative. I’m not going to buy anything with real money, and at this point, doing Reda’s contracts for gear I will never use seems like a complete waste of time.
I reported this a couple of days ago. It isn't just reporting the Avenge Player quests. It seems to report the most recent one. If you don't have an Avenge Player quest, then it says "New Quest" with nothing in it.
For me, the comparison just proves that more is not always better. I preferred Origins to both Odyssey and Valhalla. This game may be more expansive and have more things to do, but that is actually its undoing, in my opinion. Even for as long as it has been out, there are still a lot of bugs. They overreached. Controls are too unresponsive to add elements like the flying papers and animus glitches. The weapons and skills systems are more complex but are actually less enjoyable than previous games. The storyline isn't very compelling. I would actually prefer them to take longer to develop a deeper, more immersive game than to rush out another bloated title.
My guess is you can't choose her as the main character because
Guess again. It is as I said. An Ubi manager declared "girls don't sell" and ordered the game to be male centered.
Do you have actual proof of this?
Seriously? With all of the design flaws and bugs in the game, this is what people complain about? It's funny how some cry "SJWs" and political agendas when it's been the other way around for thousands of years. Groups are finally standing up to what has been forced on them. It shows how weak people really are when something like a single message at the beginning of a video game causes such angst.
In a game with Isu, advanced technology, mythical beasts, and so on, the argument that women can't be Viking leaders because it is not historically accurate is laughable. It is a fantasy game regardless of the developers' efforts to incorporate realistic elements from the time periods in which the story is based.
The developers intended for the players to be able to choose which gender they preferred because they know many players are still not comfortable enough with themselves to play a different role. It's actually kind of sad when you think about it. But they messed up in a few areas as they did in many other aspects of the game. They overpromised and underdelivered. But that's hardly a reason for this level of outcry.
@adarklore It is actually pinging you with any recent quest. If you start the game and there are no avenging quests, it will ping you with a new quest that has no name. They really need to put in a way to opt out of all of these obnoxious things.

@KmarkoPL @capnkel Yes, it may be specific to controllers. I am playing on a PS5. Recently I was doing a different animus glitch. I reached a point where there was a jump to a ledge I needed to grab. There was also a step down to a lower point. I kept aiming my camera at the place I needed to grab and trying to jump, but it kept stepping down. The X jump command seemed to be ignored completely. It took me many attempts to get it to jump correctly. I had to mash the stick as far up as possible and hit exactly the right point. It's as if X isn't really a jump control. It's more like "maybe jump if I feel like it." I would assume the controls on a PC are completely different.
@capnkel Thanks, I realized this was happening after I posted that thread. My game started going crazy with spamming messages about multiple quests accepted and other messages. The quests had no name or anything else. I restarted my PS5 completed since it had been a while. It cleared the messages for a bit, but then another player died near me, and I started getting the avenging quests messages again. It hasn't gone completely off the rails like the first time. I will report it if it does.
This has been a problem since Origins. Valhalla has more complex jump puzzles, and these controls are really bad. I am stuck in an animus glitch right now because I can’t jump when I need to. I have to get lucky and keep trying until the game decides when it wants to jump. I can’t recount all of the times in this game when all I wanted was a simple jump, and the game didn’t something completely different, like step down, jump an absurd distance, or even come to a complete stop.
I have never played a game with such awful movement controls. Seriously. They need to be completely reworked for the next game, if there is one. It’s like the devs tried to make the controls “smart,” but the controls aren’t smart at all. It needs to stop trying to guess what I want to do and let me do it.

@ubi-froggard I don’t recall which Orlog game it was. I don’t play it. It’s the one I was forced to play to get the Order clue. I do not have a video.
