@ubi-spud Alright it's the controller vibrations that cause the issues. Disabling them completely fixed it. Both vibration options (light and normal) are broken and need to be looked at. This fixes the issue for both Hybrid mode and Photo mode. Could you maybe pass this on to the team ?
@fimbulthulur Dude what are you on about ?
"And also this is a [censored] viking game. A viking, historically and 99.9% of the time, is a male. A brute male. Please stop indulging feminists and pro-women movements, while creating games, bcs this way you are making politics, instead of entertainment."
[removed] The devs didn't indulge anyone except the share holders and upper management by adding male Eivor. He's the one who was shoe-horned in, not female Eivor. That's the vision the devs had for the game, female Eivor as the main protag, no one else. Just like they did with Origins and Odyssey but in both of these, the dude was added in to make people like you happy.
You wanna blame someone ? Blame marketing, they're the ones who did a [censored] poor job at marketing the game properly, not the devs.
"I am not talking about the game plot politics, how on earth you ended up there?" Assassin's Creed has always been a political game, the Assassin Brotherhood is very progressive for their time by allowing female warriors and women to hold high ranks. This franchise has always been very political. That's how.
"But when the game starts by stating that the team is multicultural, different orientations and genders - it becomes political." This message has been in literally every Assassin's Creed ever, why are you getting triggered at it only now ? It's a message that shows for literally 5 seconds and you're making a fuss about it, settle down and close your eyes next time it shows up.
No one is enforcing their views on you either, you bought the game, nobody forced you to do so.
They did not take away the choice, you still get to play as male Eivor and switch whenever you want to. They are also both canon, only thing is that female Eivor has 80% of the game for her and male Eivor has the rest. It's up to you if you want to say [censored] the canon by picking male Eivor the entire game, no one stops you from doing that.
I know most Vikings were male, never said otherwise, but the keyword is "most", some were female. You said it yourself 99.9%. Eivor is that 00.1%.
I'm using the "Hybrid" option for my input mode and whenever I play with the controller and switch to the keyboard to do a quicksave or even take a screenshot, literally anything, the game will freeze for around 2 seconds (or less) and the audio is muted during that time, sometimes even creating synch issues during cutscenes. Same thing happens when I go from keyboard back to the controller. The switch messes up the game for a few seconds. The Hybrid input mode basically doesn't work properly.
With photo mode it does the same thing but right after leaving photo mode. It happens even if I don't switch input btw.
This is something that didn't happen in Odyssey so I hope this gets fixed ASAP, I like taking pictures and I'm used to quicksaving every few minutes so yeah this is kinda game-breaking to me.
The game is filled with bugs, including game-breaking ones such as corrupted saves or bugged missions stopping a lot of us from playing. When are we getting a patch to fix all this ? Also why is Reda's shop not showing anything ? Would be nice to know if this is intended because y'all are doing server-side updates or if it's yet another bug. The lack of communication is getting really annoying.
Seems like a lot of the fixes either didn't apply or straight up don't work.
New issues:
This is all stuff I found in around 2 hours of gameplay, I'm sure there are way more issues that are not fixed despite the patch notes saying otherwise and probably a bunch of new bugs.
More QoL changes that need to happen:
If you set the difficutly on Nightmare and don't change anything it works as intended. But as soon as you change something like aim assist or parry timing, the difficulty changes to "Custom" and it overrides everything Nightmare is supposed to do (more dmg taken, less dmg dealt, less effective ration, etc...), making the game feel like it's on default mode or easy.
I hate controller aiming so I like putting the aim assist to "Full" but like I said, if I do that it feels like the game turns back to easy mode.
I appreciate the new settings but this completely defeats the purpose of being able to customize difficutly settings. I hope this is not intended. Easy way to fix that would be to separate the difficulty setting from all the other options. Like it used to be before today's update (TU 1.4.1).
@fimbulthulur You do know this game involves a [censored] ton of politics right ? It's literally what war is all about, politics. The modern story even involves climate change and stuff. Also this is what the devs wanted to do. Stop being a neckbeard. Every time a woman is in a game neckbeards like you go "mUh PuHLiTiCS". Deal with it, snowflake.
Marketing is trash for not putting the canon character (female Eivor) on the forefront though I totally agree with that. Also they didn't lie, you always can choose who you play, unless you pick the non-canon path. They don't owe you [censored] and they don't have to fix anything relating to this non-issue.
"And also this is a f***ing viking game. A viking, historically and 99.9% of the time, is a male. A brute male."
Damn you sound like Serge Hascoet right now, massive yikes. You said it yourself, 99.9%, I guess Eivor is that .1%

This is on Aesir difficulty with no changes at all:
@customer_x
You know it's funny to me that you have problem with a female misthios (because Kass wasn't part of the spartan army) or a female Viking when both are more than plausible, rare but plausible. But meanwhile I don't see you complaining about the crazy powers Kass had, or the presence of stone castles, plate armor and two handed swords in Valhalla. Immersion matters only when it comes to you being able to play as an alpha male huh ?
Ubisoft is pushing this because it's still needed, sexism, racism, etc... are still rampant, especially in the gaming world. They're being hypocritical about it that's for sure but hopefully that changes.
"Morgan Freeman was once asked, how do we stop *racism* - the very EASY answer to this is, STOP talking about it." Yeah and that's a [censored] take. Everybody knows you can't just ignore a problem till it goes away. Look at the US. Yes they had a black president, look at how the country is going now. Stuff got so much worse when it comes to racism.
"Valhalla is a disaster" "currently having a blast playing CP2077" LMAO now you're just trolling. Valhalla ain't perfect but come on.
The game is too easy at the moment. Especially if you're one to explore everything you'll quickly be overleveled which will make all future content a joke.
Here's what a Nightmare difficulty should play like:
(This is the most important)All attacks should have much tighter dodge/parry windows: Right now it's too easy to dodge or parry, you can dodge early as hell and the attack will still miss. It's really noticeable after playing games like Dark Souls/Sekiro or even For Honor. So many moments where I'm like "Ye I should've died right there". The game is too forgiving, even on the hardest difficulty. Reduce the I-frames.
Enemies should hit harder: No one shots or even two shots but they should deal more damage so they are an actual threat, unlike right now where they barely remove 10% of my HP. This would also make stealth a more viable option.
Enemies should be a lot more aggressive: Most of the time enemies will not attack for a good 10 seconds, it makes the fights boring and it feels like they're just waiting to die, it's boring.
Fix the AI: Sometimes there are enemies that just stand there, doing nothing. Mainly archers, they refuse to help their friends. Some will also back walk so far that they end up leaving the combat area. This mainly happens when many enemies are involved.
The game started crashing for me too today. Everything was fine before but not anymore. Soon as I set foot in Ravensthorpe game crashes. If I load an earlier save and go to Ravensthorpe everything's fine until the cutscene for the event starts and the game crashes. There is no way for me to play the game atm since I gotta go to Valka's to get to Asgard. Good stuff.
This game has been a mess since release. And no additional info on when this is gonna get fixed? If ever? Pathetic... You don't see this type of stuff with any other AAA game. Even CP2077 devs got their [censored] together after less than a year. You've had two.

@ubi-mushy Well sadly it's been a while since I did this mystery, so no I don't have a save from before I completed it. I only learned recently on a site that you could go back there and the door would be open. I'd lose a ton of progress if I used an earlier save anyways.
Maybe a good way to fix the issue would be to just put a key on the lady's body which players can loot and then open the door.
@ubi-gizmo Do we need to do something to get the 80 Opals, like contact support or are they gonna be automatically added ?
@ubistorm Already tried verifying files and it didn't help Not much more to show in a video clip but here ya go:
So for some reason the door doesn't open when I come back to the tower after finishing this mystery. There's loot in there and a letter to read so I definitely should be able to get in, but I can't.
@enias0018 Nah don't worry, today's daily item is meh. It's a tattoo. Hel's damnation tattoo I think, dunno which part.
Just logged in and the festival is over even though it was supposed to end on the 9th. How come ? Now I missed out on a bunch of rewards I still had to grind tokens for. Is it a bug ?
Edit: Just noticed Reda isn't working and my Opals are at 0 even though I'm supposed to have 650 so I assume servers are having issues. Can someone at Ubi confirm ?
