Hej there
Since today, each time I reload my game, my Eivor starts drunk. Sometimes it happens even without reloading, just by fast travelling.
Do you have had the same?
Hej
I didnt have time to test yesterday the River raids, I decided to give it a try today.
In the colony the first guy I had to talk to was (see picture below)
Reassure me, it's a joke, right? Ubisoft is already preparing its April fool?!
@kerrypeng Usually when people starts calling others "racist" it's when they run out of arguments. But here it's clearly more complex, there are no arguments.
I predict a bright future to this thread.

I am Taiwanese and I am very angry!!!I needs torture scenes where internal organs and beheaded faces !!!
Here we are.
Are we discussing about immersion or about the need to satisfy our inner sadism?
Dont understand me wrong, I think I understand what you say, but the way you all express it, is ... disturbing.
(especially as I've watched a lot of Asiatic films displaying without any censor that kind of ... entertainments...)

@quor321 While I understand what you have in mind I dont agree:
an RPG is meant to have replayability. We're not in the 80s anymore, a clear "Game Over" is not acceptable anymore.
As for those who dont care, it's not their problem anyway, as that matter concerns only those who want to play beyond the main story arc.
And it's my case, and judging from the amount of players who enjoyed Odyssey's endgame for 1000 or up to 1500+ hours, I am not the only one.
Valhalla is not ready for that. Yet. We're preparing, suggesting, imagining its future
In terms of design, graphics, or overall aspect, Valhalla is good, we can almost say that it is better than Odyssey.
Sadly the game feels empty outside the main story quests. Odyssey has a system of endless exploring, completing contracts, fighting on sea, on land... totally absent from Valhalla.
when the main story arc is played, Valhalla becomes a dead game or at best a badly designed fishing and hunting simulator. Outside fishing and hunting there are nothing, strictly nothing to do in the game.
@ken_koerperich Sorry dude, I might shock you but I dont care, and most of us here dont care, about AC. We're here for a RPG. And we will judge Odyssey and Valhalla as a RPG.
It's called AC Odyssey or AC Valhalla, we see only "Odyssey" and "Valhalla". RPG games. Since Origins, AC games are not AC anymore (the way you understand it, and I respect your opinion/tastes in term of games), and if they still were, I wouldnt be here replying to your post
But you're right! It's all about that: it seems Ubisoft doesnt know what they want to do: do they want us to play an AC game, AKA ligh-RPG game, or do they want their games to be real RPG games? Origins and the Odyssey gave us the feeling that they wanted their games to be RPG. But one step forward, two steps backward, Valhalla tends to go in the "ligh RPG" category. It's not our fault, we're just facing an editor who doesnt seem to know what he wants really.
At the end of the day, you're here because you thought it's an AC game, and you're disappointed, and I'm here because I thought it's a RPG, and I am disappointed too
@olmergrey Well, he started in Russian because it is his mother tongue. I live in Finland, and we have quite a lot of Russian speaking Estonians and such here, it doesnt mean he's wrong because of that; he can talk about Scandinavia/Northern Europe in Russian, it's perfectly fine.
But anyway, he's wrong
Why you may ask?! Because I dont agree: the game isnt female centered. At all. And if you play Eivor as a male (what I do) I see no problems at all, nowhere.
Almost on topic: I live in Central Finland in the region called Häme, which used to be called Tafaestland during the viking age. A very viking-like region (archaeological findings). And a few weeks ago they fount a grave with a skeleton from the Viking Age. Nice viking shield, nice vikings axes, swords, jewelry especially a Thor's hammer. A Finn. But disturbing fact for our Russian speaking friend... it was a woman xD

@kerrypeng I also wanted to point out that there are no black nor asiatic vikings in the game. Ubisoft is clearly racist! It has to be changed!

@seanc-87 Historical proofs are texts I mentioned above. Different sources: Frank, Arab and Byzantine.
The most well know written sources are:
Add to that the huge amount of burial grounds in Northern Europe with warriors buried there with their weapons and shields. A not neglectful amount of those warriors were... women.
No answer?
(maybe my question wasnt clear)
Hey there
As I restarted the game I cant verify it anymore: if I change Gungnir's appearance, does it suppress the magical blue glow on it?
Do you still see the magical effect when using it? (magical "extension" when you strike)
(as you guessed, I hope that the spear will look "normal" and not magical in any sense)
Thanks for your replies
As for the NG+ discussion, the main thing for me is : how can they justify or motivate players to redo all puzzles, which were already (for most of them) boring the first time.
Origins and Odyssey can easily be NG+ssed, I have really dificulties to imagime the point to NG+ valhalla.
Thanks both of you for your replies.
So according to what you said, 2 levels per hour is possible and not even hard, by doing standard activities.
That would be 1500 hours, 62,5 days of actual playing.
For someone playing 3 hours a day, that's still 500 days, one year and a half roughly
(I like that kind of stupid maths haha)
I'm at about 380 in all three
Thanks for your fast reply, much appreciated.
Wow! 1140 overall, that's a lot of points. Roughly 35% of the potential maximum (or did you mean 380 overall, the points distributed in the three branches).
How much time did it take you? (how much points can someone expect to make per day, let says with an 1-2 hours playing time, for instance?)
@teh_greg
Very interesting.
River Raids
I know the feature, but is it good for making money, or just xp (or both?)
by the way, the "books of knowledge" are still available at the shop to convert ingame currency into xp, right?
Forgotten Saga
Never heard of that feature. Guess I left too early hehe.
What are they, shortly?
Ireland/Francia DLC missions
Ah nice, I know the missions in Ireland. So they did the same in Francia? Same kind of missions?
You can also farm Mastery Points to 1000 in each of the 3 categories
So overall 3x1000 points, right?
@TheNorfolkian Thanks a lot for your reply, matey. It has been a long time, I hope you're well
Hey there!
I've been quite active in the forum and in the game at release, but I stopped shortly after the release of the river raids as I were really disappointed with it, and especially its lack of replayability.
I came back with the DLC in Ireland, and I wasnt really seduced by the lack of activities available.
I havent bought the DLC in Paris by the way.
So tell me, does the game have now a better replayability when the main arc is played and when all the side activities are done?
(I have Odyssey in mind here, mainly. But to some extend, Origins too, as the combination of infinite skill points + NG+ can virtually mean an infinite game)
Is there a NewGame+ feature?
What's the max skill cap?
Is there a point in continuing playing (skills, development of something?) when the main activities are over?
Thanks a lot for your replies
@aajoestar We have been making that conclusion for months if not more than a year now: AC Valhalla is an unfinished wannabe-viking version of AC Odyssey with beautiful graphics but no depth what so ever.
A visually high quality looking shell with the backbone of an android game.
The list of great features they should have added in the game, which were in Odyssey/Origins, and which are not in Valhalla is very long.
You're basicaly asking for some kind of replayability? Ubisoft dont understand what replayability means. The last time they added a so called "highly replayable" feature it ended with their pointless river raids.
Dont hold your breath, they had your money (and mine) and the next time you'll hear from them is when they'll try to hype you for their next unfinished game.
Judged out of the context of the 2 previous opus it would be ok and acceptable.
But after a great AC Origins and a godly AC Odyssey, the overall mediocrity of Valhalla is difficult to understand and to accept.
