So, I noticed that the menu page on Valhalla is displaying this news...
However, when actually going to the Prime Gaming site, there is nothing there about the new Charlemagne Bundle. Also, there is no news about it on the Ubisoft website, nor did I receive an email as I did for previous bundles advertised on Prime Gaming. So... is this news an accidental blip? When will the bundle roll out?
It’s kind of silly when returning to England from Ireland that you can’t access the trading chest back home in Ravensthorpe. What’s the point of an ‘Irish Outpost’ if there’s literally nothing to do there after the first time you go to Ireland. It’s even particularly silly that after you come back and visit the outpost, Azar asks if you’re ready to go to Ireland instead of being available to ‘buy’ trading goods. Even after completing Azar’s quest for revenge and fully upgrading all trade posts in Ireland, it’s kind of ridiculous that Azar doesn’t have any kind of surrogates or helpers in a trading network, much like how Reda has agents all across England to dole out a daily quest.
When I first saw the ‘loadout’ switching feature in AC Odyssey, I didn’t really think much of it until I realized how practical it was. Granted, I personally only switched between two different loadout sets for everyday killing versus full-on battle scenarios. The game also complimented this feature with the switching between ability rollouts for the button map.
Why were these features not included in AC Valhalla? Having played enough of the game and snatching up many types of armor sets, I found myself actually missing the ‘loadout’ switching feature from Odyssey. I’ve found myself manually switching each armor set piece, and the weapons too, when I want to take my Eivor into different situations where I know a different set bonus has its advantages. Is this annoying? Yes... especially when I want to use a different bow when a situation suddenly changes.
I hope a future update implements this practical game feature that is sorely missed.
So, I just opened up the game after installing TU 1.5.1 and Reda only offered one daily contract and the usual weekly contract. There was not a second daily contract quest. I was not able to capture any screenshots or video (this time). I will see if this repeats tomorrow. I am playing on XBox Series X and have no other technical or hardware issues.
Previously, I posted a topic showing that Mastery Points were in fact increasing Stealth Damage and Ability Damage, even though those stats were not displayed in the mastery categories. I was able to determine that while Ability Damage does increase when points are put towards the Bear category, only Stealth Damage is increase when points are added to the Wolf or Raven category. However, I was never able to figure out the absolute mathematics behind Mastery Points because I suspected there was some other factors in play that might have been generating diminishing returns.
Having acquired another 100 Mastery Points to test that theory, I can now confirm that there are diminishing returns as you continue to add more points into a mastery category. To properly display the difference, I have some video proof. However, before looking at that, take a moment to quickly recap the numbers for Eivor’s starting stats...

Previously, I posted a topic about the story opportunities and expectations of how the Siege of Paris expansion would ideally play out. Some of these expectations were based the actual historical events surrounding the almost year-long Siege of Paris. However, I have to say... I am summarily disappointed in not only how Ubisoft has once again made up their own story when history itself would have been enough, but that yet again another opportunity to build on Isu lore has been squandered, just like with Wrath of the Druids.
In fact, I would argue that the Siege of Paris expansion is actually worse than Wrath of the Druids for the following reasons:
Beyond that stuff, there are some environment issues I was irked by...
And lastly, some story issues I was frustrated by... spoiler alert...
Okay, I’ll stop here... thanks for reading. Please feel free to add anything I probably missed.
I’ve noticed that other players have reported this similar bug, but I wanted to note my specific experiences to add a little more information. I use a custom control scheme and assigned the ‘A’ button for primary interaction and assassinations. I noticed that when I reassigned the assassination function, the ‘A’ button did work for primary interaction again. However, I am now facing problems with conflicting commands overriding the ability to assassinate the way I would like to.
A stranger issue is that I had the bottom D-Pad button assigned to whistling and calling for my horse, but after the update, my Eivor pulls out a torch. This had never even been a feature in the game before (you have to go through the quick-action wheel to do it). I saw that an instant torch was not even in the command menu for custom controls, so I was pretty perplexed by this bug. I have since switched my quick-action wheel to the lower D-Pad and moved the whistle/horse button to the left D-Pad, which made the torch problem go away.
The strangest problem that I cannot currently figure out is the fact that my right bumper (RB) will not allow my Eivor to crouch/drop/slide. This is particularly weird because I have no other function conflicts with the ‘RB’ button. I even tried holding down the button and nothing happened.
I have not played long enough to see if any of the other controls are broken because not being able to crouch was the game-killer for me (I do a lot of stealth). I sincerely hope a patch is rolled out soon to allow players to resume their desired custom control schemes. I also think Ubisoft should petition Microsoft to allow for custom control assignments to the new capture button. Having another button would certainly help alleviate the amount of control functions featured in this game.
Thanks.
In response to this thread in Player Support, let’s formally request that the gear set and weapons acquired in Vinland be accessible everywhere else after completing the Vinland cycle, and that any gear acquired elsewhere in the game also be useable in Vinland after completing that story arc.

@simplethumb As a new player, how does it feel knowing you’ve bought a lemon that can’t be turned into lemonade? I am one of those players who pre-ordered the Gold Edition of the game at full price and have played some Valhalla almost every single day since its release. These days I really only log in to do the daily Reda stuff and complete any challenges or limited content (like the festival... or not from now on). Why do I bother? Because I, like many others, are still holding out for the day when Ubisoft will eventually fix all of the ridiculous bugs that have plagued this game... hopefully before a New Game+ is implemented. Some bugs have persisted even since day one, and the plethora of improvement possibilities continue to be squandered. Despite our optimism, there’s that lingering feeling that this flagship game will never be truly fixed because the company can’t seem to properly manage its resources. It’s no wonder AC3, Liberation, and Rogue were remastered graphically, but the controls or other mechanics were never polished.
I climbed up to the top of this thing and expected to find a jump point so Eivor could dive into a pile of leaves or something. Nope.
Anyone else want a jump point?
@azullFR That’s odd. Thanks for catching that.
Also, it looks like we’re no longer allowed to edit a post after one day, which is kind of silly.
Anyway...
Here’s the page I thought I linked for the original article: insider-gaming.com/assassins-creed-codename-red-to-feature-both-a-samurai-and-shinobi/
Here’s the page I was attempting to link about the female samurai: allthatsinteresting.com/onna-bugeisha-female-samurai
I’m sure many of you have already heard about this already, but here’s the original article.
In case you had a double-take moment wondering if a female samurai is even a thing... they existed.
I’m now more intrigued by the potential of this game than before. Having two different characters that have very different roles means that players will likely be able switch off between the two like in AC Syndicate. The shinobi/ninja character will likely be more stealth like Evie, while the samurai character will be like Jacob. This also means that there will likely be missions designed for the shinobi only, some for the samurai only, and some that are open to players opting to approach a problem with either character. It will be interesting to return to this style of gameplay after playing the Origins/Odyssey/Valhalla trilogy where we used a single character that could do everything.
“Reda, your floating god requires better shop items...”
@Ubi-Keo @Ubi-Poseidon @Ubi-oof I am happy to report that TU 1.7.0 appears to have fixed this issue. I have found that I no longer need to exit and restart the game for a purchased Reda item to be restored. Any items I have purchased since installing 1.7.0 did not disappear when ‘waking up’ to England, and vice versa when ‘going to sleep’ into Svartalfheim. I will continue to monitor this for future purchases, but so far, it definitely looks like the bug was fixed. Please pass along my thanks to the development team.
@merckuzio On my XBox Series X, all I had to do was exit out of the game and ‘quit’ it. Restarting the whole game fixed the issue for me.
@B_O_L_T @XBL_Laberbacke Performing a full reset of the game seems to correct that issue. I was not able to get the free item at first, but after doing a reset, not only was I able to get the item, but it showed up immediately in my inventory.
The update just showed up this morning on my XBox Series X. Here’s the full breakdown.
Edit: I can confirm that the Raven Clan Crew Outfit is upgradeable now!
@SpirantCrayon22 My go to spots are...
Drinking: Saint Hadrian’s Priory... it’s the closest one to a fast travel point.
Zipline Kills: Calleva Outpost... If I’m lucky, I can get all ten kills in one go, but usually I can swing at least five to seven per visit.
@azullFR “It’s just a flesh wound!”
