What have you done? Other than the issue of dealing with spam. There was nothing wrong with the forum as it was! It was simple & easy to use. I could see all unread threads at a glance. This is ugly & I've got to scroll through stuff that used to be stickied in one small section. So much info on the game gets released on various & all social media outlets. Are you trying to drive people away from the forum? I don't have any social media accounts. Other than youtube, the forum is the place I rely on for info on the game.
As part of Ubisoft's 'Happy Holidays' giveaway. They are giving players who haven't already unlocked Bayeks outfit in ubiclub/connect, a chance to claim it NOW!
So Ubisoft is giving away free rewards each day from December 14th - Dec 18th!
As I said in the title, Todays reward is the Bayek outfit, as well as a 'Seafarer Settlement pack'! You have to go to the ubisoft website & click on the 'Happy Holidays' link to claim rewards. They won't appear in your game straight away (I'm not sure when they'll appear)?
I don't know at what time this offer went live, so if you want it, claim it now! There was no publicity about this as far as I'm aware, I just happened to catch a jorraptor vid on youtube about half an hour ago that mentioned it. Pass on the word to anybody that has the game (if you want). Because I guarantee, that in coming days, weeks & months to come there will be posts complaining about 'Locked content'!
Check the website each day for the next 4 days, because new rewards still to come. Whether I actually use any of this stuff, I'll wait and see. I just take everything the game has to offer.
@ubichem I can appreciate a lot of people have put a lot of work into creating the new forum. I used to visit the ubi website once in a blue moon. While I was there I'd take a gander at the forum, see what players were talking about. Maybe read a couple of posts then exit without contributing. But I only really started using the forum regularly about a year & a half, maybe 2 years ago. So I can't really remember how it was before. I just think up until today, it didn't seem broken! Each thread was a slim bar, with the title, thread creator, & name of last post. Without scrolling I could view something like 15 threads at a time.
@Aloninor It's not harsh judgement, it's my honest opinion/first impression. But I'll always give things a try, & if I'm wrong & it turns out to be a better service. I'll be honest about it. I'm not one of those people that forms an opinion & digs their heels in. Won't budge.
@capnkel There's nothing that impressive about the norse time in britain, they're just one more group in a series of invaders/conquerers/boat people/refugees/settlers, that left a footprint. Then the british would later go on & dish out the same crap to other nations around the world. There's nothing great, or impressive about any of it. "Ah, but what about the place names, 'thorpe' & towns, or villages that end in 'by', or the fact that a day of the week is named after the almighty Thor! 'Thursday"?
The norse, or vikings travelled, explored & traded, they made some great weapons, their art & carvings were brilliant, & they told great stories about the exploits of their gods to their kids over the fire, & when they had sufficient numbers for an attack (great heathen army), they were 'a force to be reckoned with' (cliche - but I just can't heap praise on those dogs, man). I cannot stand this tide that has come across lately in TV, Film, & games, including Ubisoft & more disapointingly the team that were given the green light to go ahead with this unfortunate 'AC' game, have ridden along with this idea that the vikings were misrepresented in the history books. Just to say it out loud, THE VIKINGS WEREN'T BRAVE, COURAGEOUS WARRIOR'S! THEY WERE CHANCERS, OPPORTUNISTS & SHIGHTBAGS! They did travel from their homeland to discover & in search of a better life, they traded. But don't give them too much credit for the lands that they conquered! The norse/Norwegians, knew the North & North West Scottish island groups. The Shetland & Orkney Islands. The Inner & Outer Hebrides. If the vikings wanted to 'Take Scotland' (although at the time Scotland as a country didn't yet exist) They had a massive coastline on the NorthEast coast of britain which would have been so much easier to reach than travelling around the treacherous waters of the Northern coast. So why didn't they invade the East coast of Scotland (inhabited by the Picts)? Probably because they knew what they were up against., & although the Northern Isles were Pictish lands. The inhabitants of these islands were cut off from any kind of support or reinforcement! You see, the whole of mainland britain, although peace pacts would be made from time to time, there was always a threat of invasion from neighbouring tribes. Scotland has hundreds, if not thousands of Lochs (lakes), & a way of reducing the threat of overnight attacks from nearby enemies, was to build houses on stilts off the shores of the Lochs, these were called Crannogs. (You can see an example on the SouthEast entrance to 'Bomere Lake' in Sciropescire, in the game). And no doubt many that wanted out & away from the threat of attack would have felt safer living on an island away from the mainland, & as I mentioned previously, they were far away from the threat of mainland attack, they were also far from their support. So, the idea that vikings conquering these islands paints them as superior has to be taken with a snow shovel fulla salt. I don't particularly care that much about them raiding monasteries (although, not raised christian, I was fed christian bumf throughout my childhood, but I'm still not a christian!). Vikings (as many portray them as being the ultimate baderses) hitting a monastery, is akin to a bunch of teenage/early twenties skinheads raiding an old peoples home to rob them of their 'Prize Bingo' Prizes, & their evening pudding! The norse didn't invade & conquer. The vast majority were let in (because they were known traders & probably trusted). As for them not being known for stealth. Well it was a few centuries later, that the Thistle became the Flower of Scotland, due to a viking raiding party taking off their boots to sneak up on a Scottish camp who were asleep in the early hours, only to step on the Thistle, their [censored] ersed screeches alerting the Scots & the attackers were put to rest. As I said earlier, the Film, TV & games media is responsible for completely rewriting, falsifying history & all these clowns that have watched some of these shows, movies & played these games feeling pride that, I am a product of this proud race need to give themselves a good hard headbutt against the nearest hard surface, to waken themselves up! As for Thursday? The place names? I reckon they were let go, because the pagan festivals continued after christianisation. There probably wasn't anybody that could be bothered setting up a committee to change the name of a day of the week.
Also, Eivor isn't an Assassin. She was given a Hidden Blade, was talked to for probably less than 2 mins & shown some dummies. Later was shown the leap of faith, was asked for Order trinkets by Hytham, but Eivor isn't an assassin! I savoured those moments when I entered those Hidden Ones Bureau's. Before I interacted with any of the notes,. I took time to light every light source in the rooms, & the lead up. I burnt every cobweb away, because I thought, or hoped that Eivor would be bringing these Bureaus back into daily use, by maybe recruiting Assassin's & learning/training to become one herself. But alas, it wasn't to be. What a waste! & Ubisoft, don't bother now! Just like coming to Scotland. You absolutely shet on us. I don't want you coming here as an afterthought. Stay away. My apologies for the devs that did a great job on what was asked of them. But year 2 on this game is polishing the turd.
Access the Animus just released this video 'Cracking the ISU Numbers'
@holyhalf-dead I preferred the Olympian store in Odyssey. You could gamble 20 ori at a time on a vase, & I got a pretty good return overall. I'd usually get 1, sometimes 2 Legendary items per week. Also because it was a truly engaging game, I didn't mind buying either cheap stuff, or partially owned sets cheap in the sales. So within 13 months of playing AC Odyssey, I owned everything in the store. But Valhalla, I still have the 300 helix credits I got at the start of the game, & I wouldn't dream of spending more money on this game.
Woohoo! I just found one on the farm!
So I went to the farm, (I don't know if this matters) but before I got there there waqs one of those Q'?' traveller guys, so I have nothing left on the map to clear, but I paid him anyway, then all options were greyed out, but 'Mysteries' was in white letters. so selected mystery, then the reminder to check my map popped. There was nothing on the map, so onto the farm, looked around then ran around in front of enemies & got killed (after making a quick save).
So I respawned & killed them all, had a look around, pressed Odins sight & got that Green glow you get when following clues. So it was East of the farm building just outside the broken walls, & sure enough, I got the interact option & got the mission "Avenge (PS logo) lzp_lzp". Then (PS logo) lzp_lzp has fallen in battle. It is up to you to avenge them. Then below the quest icon Find and kill the perpetrator(s). similar to AC Origins.
So as I said I'm not sure, but perhaps paying the experienced Traveller unlocks a nearby victim quest. Just a thought?
BTW you get 100xp for finding the killer, It's showing up in ubiConnect that I've got all this weeks challenges & 'Hall of the Slain' is showing as 1/10, so I'll try looking out for more travellers, see if it's a thing.
EDIT: I forgot to say, I'm playing on ps4 Pro.
@Ubi-Keo It's doubtful that what happens at Reda tomorrow will tell whether the problem is resolved. Because, the problem was, 'Reda was only offering ONE Daily every 3rd day! So, it should be whatever happens this coming Friday, will tell us if the problem has been fixed or not.
Having said that, if Reda is only offering 1 daily tomorrow, then it's more broken than before (yikes!).
@cell1e Access The Animus had early access to the dlc as well, & they released a tour of Ireland earlier. Just in case the link doesn't work, you can search AccesstheAnimus. 'Assassins Creed Valhalla - Wrath of the Druids - A Tour of Ireland and it's Locations and Biomes'. It looks great, some impressive Hill Forts & there's a Synin's eye view of spoiler
Lol, only kidding!
I was browsing through youtube, after my dinner, & discovered 'Access the Animus' had released a new video, which I wasn't expecting, as they just released a vid 2 days ago. But I really wasn't expecting this!?
I won't explain, I'll try & post the video, & just watch (it's only 1 min 27sec long)
@SpirantCrayon22 As @Wascaliwabbit mentioned, there's a paragraph on the 'New Weekly, Free Helix item'. in the patch notes. I can't comment on whether it works for me yet (as I'm still waiting on update downloading). I'll let you know if I get any joy!
Also, it looks like you'll have an additional angle to cover in your 'Reda's rubbish' thread.
@wraithmyth the final chapter drops on 6th December.
@longjohn119 You got your wish! It's coming out on 6th December! I've no idea what the content is, or how big the update is. But I don't imagine it'll take a week to complete it.
I just hope that the drop comes with an announcement, that states, "This is it! There will be nothing more coming to Valhalla!" "Complete this, & you're done"!
@Metroid_Meister During the 'Ubisoft Forward' stream 2 or 3 months ago, in relation to future ACV content, they simply said " in the coming months"! But they didn't give an actual date. As for 10th November. That marks the 2nd anniversary of ACV's release. So, we're now in Year 3 for this game.
They probably want to just drag this out until they're sure ACM is ready to release on their planned date? Who knows they might even be rewriting/reshooting some of the last chapter. Because, as it stands. I feel absolutely nothing for Eivor or Odin/Havi. The writers have done nothing to make them likeable characters. But worse than that. Basim is a backstabbing [censored]! And yet, he is the main character in ACM? There's no way I'm putting my hand in my pocket to pre-order that! Dragging out a story for 2+ years, with a massive question mark hanging over him. I'm guessing he will just snap out of it, or something. He'll do something really selfless & save the world. But I'm beyond caring about him. I simply want the final chapter to release, so I can play it & delete the game. The devs are too late for NG+ also.
Please Ubi, will you just release the final chapter & put me out of my misery?
@Cleric670 Apologies, for my ignorance. But what is 'Akismet'?
@Randelia Tonnastadir is one of my goto's for zipline kills & one of my goto's for window ledge assassinations. I haven't been there for a while, but I'm sure it's close to the FT point for 'Thieves Couple'.
The zipline is at the top end of the site & terminates close to an area with caged wolves. There aren't any enemies that patrol near the zipline (they're all pretty static). I generally assassinate a guy, then carry the corpse up the path that runs parallel with the zipline. Place it a few metres before the line ends (3/4 of the way, or more). You don't have to place the corpse directly under the wire, but in the grass next to the path. Then climb up the tower ready to jump. There are guards in the small square with the caged animals, fire an arrow 3 or 4 metres away from one of them. He'll come & investigate, then fire another couple of arrows to bring him closer to the corpse. He then searches the long grass, & there's your 1st target. Don't worry if another enemy spots you because they are really dumb there, easy to lose, & they give up searching soon after. It's a bit tedious, but I get what I can there, then go off & do some other challenges, then come back later. I can't remember the name of the location for my other zip kills, but it's a fort on top of a sea stack, off the coast of East Anglia (where Odin's eye sings to you for the 1st time!). It's ok, & I can get more kills there, but it takes a long time to climb back up to the zipline, & there are more enemies that hunt you longer if seen.
@SpirantCrayon22 It's not too bad a week for me, so far. With the Valkyrie legs & Knights of the Round Table Pants. I've completed another 2 Gear sets! Both items are repeats, & although they have appeared once before (unlike a few items you've highlighted in your thread, where, some reda items appear for the 3rd, 4th, or 5th time!). Repeats are sometime helpful!
@TheNorfolkian Yea, I wasn't taking the favours used to keep stuff from my last run (of course they wouldn't show up in my inventory. Doh!). And you're more than likely right about the 'Cold Reception' Favour being replaced before release!
@bielik01 Ice Arrows don't extinguish fire! Those pillars must just be spare bridge supports. The weird birds flying around them, don't mean anything. There are no quests associated with them! And the dwarves are staying in their camp.
@bielik01 I want to see if Ice Arrows put out the fires on the monoliths. As I say, it's just a hunch. But the fires may be preventing the dwarves from connecting ropes & ziplines. Or maybe it's something else. But those overhead circling birds usually mean there's a quest or fast travel point directly beneath it, & as I said, I could see another 2 pillars with circling birds. They seem climbable, but due to the fire, that doesn't seem feasible right now, & those rebel dwarves are camped out at the end of Dokkerland, & it seems they're waiting for something? I'll let you know if it works.
@bielik01 Ah, I see one of the others that I missed! It's 'Vivid Memory', that just costs 75 memories, & I don't always bother with that. So I obviously left 3 with Nar. Thanks. I decided just to cancel my run & see if I can find Ice Arrow Ability! I'll amend or cancel that post with the list!
