@enviigreatness Agree with this as well. Instead we get a 'prestige' update that does seemingly... nothing? Along with placeholder slots in the codex, and a new protean... I think the devs are completely missing the point -- they're losing player base because the challenge and depth isn't there, not because we ran out of neat hats.
I've got group of friends that we run the Maelstrom and beat it the first run through every time. It was fun at launch, but making a veteran mode of maelstrom would absolutely keep us going with this game, because right now we'll run it Thursday night... and then wait til next Maelstrom to play the game again.
We need a compass to be able to communicate. Saying "the big room on the left" or "the place to the up" isn't cutting it - give us a compass that we can use to communicate.

We do not want new proteans or silly hats - we want harder difficulty. Vigil is just an arbitrary bullet sponge; please give us Veteran mode as a constant, and a Veteran mode of Maelstrom. You're going to lose the player base you have due to ignoring what the players actually want, on top of not communicating literally anything about upcoming updates, patches, etc.. The only thing you seem to update is your twitter's churlish attempt to create memes - This is going to go the way of breakpoint if you completely ignore your player base.

My group of 4 friends are able to rotate to play (based on schedules) the maelstroms every week, as well as the weekly assignments... but we are blowing throw the maelstroms every week without fail, even running it back with alternate characters just to do it. I realize that this difficulty is taking matchmaking into account, but for those of us that have friends that play together and work well together, the difficulty just isn't there. The latest mutations certainly help (e.g. regenerating enemies / immortal smasher), but could Veteran mode be made as a consistent mode, or even better, could there be two versions of Maelstrom? One normal (as it stands now), and one Veteran version of it? I think having Veteran mode as a staple would go a long way to scratch that difficulty itch.
