Game looks awesome and the story is terrific so far.
I cant't see anything in the OP's points I can relate to, to be honest.
@animuslover I think the mechanics have been improved not ruined.
Best not to fixate needlessly on the changes but to embrace the difference and enjoy the game.
We all know how little point there is in wanting a game to be a different one.
The game is awesome, but this instant re-spawning is an annoyance. I'd say it was the #1 issue at the moment for me.
@vvrathh Can't say I'd noticed. I'm not sure 'equality of beheading' is something I was particularly looking out for. Why is this a particular need for you?
@mortilla_ 15 hours in and i'm having a blast. Clearly your mileage varies. Personal taste.
@animuslover Things I like -
That the endless loot chase has been scaled away.
That the combat is complex but viable (with a little practice)
That many familiar mechanisms are back from past games
I like having your crew in on the act when you choose.
I like how all enemy forces don't telepathically get alerted if you have a minor scuffle.
!00+ hours in I'm having a blast with it.
I'm not sure what Ubi are supposed to do. Both when the mechanics are the same or get changed, folk complain about it.
I'm sharing this in a place people are most likely to see it.
Patch 1.0.4 caused two wealth items (ingots) to be un-credited from your wealth checklist (in East Anglia and Vinland)
Credit goes to those who pointed out that you could revisit Dunwic tower to get the first ingot back. It's here, just go and kill the elite soldier to get it:
Re-obtaining the Vinland ingot is seemingly impossible because the elite with the ingot is dead (assuming you did it already), but no, there's a cunning workaround.
Credit to @phoenixash2001 for setting out the process for Vinland (in brief). Sadly I was too dim to figure it out just from that, but 'Saint Nick' on YouTube had posted a version. https://discussions.ubisoft.com/topic/84570/patch-1-0-4-discussion-drops-nov-26/192
Odyssey (and other Ubisoft games) have been criticised for overdoing the 'loot chase'.
So I can understand why it's been dialled back.
I think the time period also fits well with a more limited weapon palate.
So the challenge to 'realism' is that some enemies are also female?
Not the pet attack animals?
And whilst Yara is not Cuba, Castro's Cuba did have a female platoon.
Either way, the immersion issue is with the distorted perspective of some players, this is how the game is and rightly so.
@megaflux1 I can't think of more grossly entitled nonsense than requesting someone be fired because of a game feature you're irritated by.
Bit odd this thread is pinned, does that mean we are supposed to keep discussing it?
I'm pretty sure the notion that NFTs being a terrible idea in gaming still stands, yes?
Currently replaying Breakpoint, which in it's post-fixes condition is more enjoyable than Wildlands to me. I hope that a new Ghost Recon game will make some of the positive changes from the start, not be dragged to them due to feedback over 2 years. 2025? That would be fine, but imagine Ghost Recon and Skull and Bones launching the same year...
Having not noticed that the Terminator content was removed, I was doing a full playthrough, completed episode 2 and was wondering, where's the Terminator missions had gone. In the scheme of things not a giant thing, but annoying certainly.
A WD4 seems likely as development will likely have started before WDL launched.
Legion was groundbreaking in its population creation, though sadly by itself that was less engaging.
I'd expect to see very clear characters for 4.
It's unsurprising Ubi is done. Few games get 2 years of support.
I started a fresh playthrough, with Bloodline to start and I can appreciate the improvements since the original launch.
GR was one of the last franchises to move to the new forum, it doesn't take long to get used to it.
And you get more emojis...
Oh my.
Skipping something is not an option for me. What a thought...
It worked for me.
A NewGame+ would be like as I don't want to level tall he classes again.
it's a game, not an analysis of an actual government.
Exactly this. There haven't been enough interesting female characters in games, if that means there is a slight over-correction here, that's fine and nothing to get in a stew about.
@phxrider I hope it is patched then.
Yes, the flight mechanics are horrible.
(I think I must have done it pre-patch but it's like flying a truck.)
