An option to play without the level grind, bullet-sponge enemies, weird ammo types and ammo-specific enemies, the unnatural enemy respawns, item rarities, etc. would greatly improve Far Cry 6.
I get that there may be some people who, for whatever reason, enjoy Ubisoft's endless, RPG-style grinds.
But I just want a Far Cry game.
@true_coverage I suggested the addition of a "Classic" mode in another thread: Remove the level gating, the bullet sponges, the convoluted and unnecessary ammo system, and the out-of-thin-air immediate enemy respawns so that the game is more like...you know...Far Cry.
I'll be honest. I was a fool when I thought New Dawn would not be the prototype for a rpg system that would dominate next big Far cry.
That is all.
To be fair, the devs themselves said that they wouldn't repeat that New Dawn nonsense with Far Cry 6. But as it turns out, they lied.
Lesson learned I guess.
I think I'm pretty much done playing until this problem is fixed. It's just way too stupid, and I cannot believe this issue survived whatever QA process Ubisoft has (if any).
Could also be the only reason they've "patched" a few locations is to test the impact on the wider experience.
Would make total sense to only alter a small percentage of the map - let the unpaid testing team (aka customers) see if it works / provide feedback - before screwing the whole thing up..... I'm probably being generous though..... Again, some communication wouldn't go amiss here Ubi....![]()
Isn't it awesome spending money to QA test a game?
@netspook Fundamentally it seems like the game takes a lot of false pride in the junk weapons and the backpack. I say "false pride" because in order to place an emphasis on those things, the game had to nerf the actual weapons you'd normally use with its wholly unsatisfying ammo system.
@igrvks As long as it adds more grind to the game, then it's not a bug--it's a feature.

This is just hilarious.
This is Cyberpunk-level bad.
@dannykao83 All of the gameplay design decisions that were made in the course of developing Far Cry 6 were the wrong ones.
@yotortugarp The developers were super chatty about the game before release. But as soon as the game launched they all ran away and hid without answering a single question about why Far Cry 6 is the worst Far Cry game ever released or why--prior to the game's release--they were not honest about the terrible design choices they made for it.
Remember this lesson when Ubisoft tries to get you excited for the next "Far Cry" game.
@Ubi-Thrupney Vaulted content. Yet another manner in which FC6 is a Destiny rip-off.
@Kormac67 What word is the direct opposite of, "excited"?
@WID992007 It's a needed feature so that the player can see/display their fashion Danis in hub areas, just like Destiny.
FTFY.
@dv20katana The game is a cursed chimera of Destiny and Just Cause, and it exposes the developers' absolute lack of understanding of what makes Far Cry compelling.
A lot of the frustration comes from the fact that publishers like Ubisoft actively foment "communities" to engender interest in their titles. Unfortunately, such "community" is mostly a cynical marketing ploy whereby the publisher sends out CMs to act as if there is some sort of genuine, parasocial dynamic between the players and the publisher. The problem comes when communication reveals itself to be an entirely one-way street, with the aforementioned CMs doing little more than parroting the company line. So on one hand, players hear "We're listening to your feedback" and so on and so forth, but the replies we get in return belie that entire notion. Personally, I'd rather publishers drop this charade entirely than continue current practice of stringing players along on the empty promise that, one day, their concerns will actually be heard.
@endros853 You watched 5 hours worth of critique yet still have no idea why people don't like the game??
@wazoubel1911 Just pretend you're playing Destiny and the backpack is your subclass/special. Seems like that's what the devs were going for.
@natsu302022 Elden Ring is a generational title, like Skyrim and Witcher 3 before it.
Far Cry 6 is...not.
Feel better champ.
@ubi-borealis Apologies, but I do not believe there are any "dedicated teams" still working on this title. And even if there were, what does it matter if they are unable/unwilling to act on player feedback?
@rickidoo2010 It was the only quote worth addressing as the other "quotes" in your post were just fabricated straw men.
