You just brought the politics into it, Ubi is just designing a game in the artistic form they wish, play don't play up to you.
Valhalla is not perfect at this early stage but overall a great game. Number 1 right now I believe over Cyberpunk for holiday released games. Makes me think the majority of the I'll will directed at this game is a small minority of stormtrooper forum goers.
@mitko1197 That's just over thinking it. Not uncommon in our over sensitive society to see these simple statements made before starting something. Not a show of political stance. Just there to hush the judgemental, sadly it don't work well enough.
No one in the public eye can do anything, even in art!!!!!!, without covering all the basis.
@martygod12 No one is forcing you to buy anything. I had no problem getting gear and weapons in game.
@ehllfhire1 Ya, cuz every quest should have a giant question mark like most early gaming. Guess some don't want to try talking to people or exploring. Just give me the big [censored] question mark so I can skip all the conversation and hurry to my xp and or loot. Fun ( said with maximum sarcasm )
I'm only 40% into the game and do enjoy it. But agree with most of what you said so far.
My concern is they did plan, or at least will add the improvements that are being asked for like it's new content. Even though it was in prior games like Odyssey. For example the demand for gear in Valhalla, already we are seeing new gear sets and weapons being added but of course they are in the store atm.
It's not new content or doing us any favors if it was in prior games. Should start with it all. Then add to the game with actual new content. Seen some threads on quality of life improvements like fixing the lack of categories for weapons and so on in inventory. It was in Odessey, why even change that. Makes no sense. Now they are going to waste a bunch of time fixing/adding things that should already of been in the game from day one.
@billionair90 It may happen at some point, but this patch had more important things to fix/ add.
@wildhunt It is a bit strange that many simple features in Odessey were removed. Build saves, selling extra leather and ore, having some verity from one vendor to the next, weapons separated by type. I get trying something new with some major features but don't take away quality of life features.
It really just needs to go back to the Odyssey version of dealing with civilians. If you kill them you get a bounty on your head, leaving you with a few choices, fight the bounty hunters, kill the one that put the bounty on you or pay the bounty. Made for a great activity to do when you wanted to get away from questing, exploring, etc.
@martygod12 I'm not thrilled with the store for Valhalla, just not going to get all worked up over it when it's a choice to use it. There will be more in game gear in time the game is only two months old.
@chuckkatse Been a number of days since I played but I had no problem bow fishing. Either it was patched or the fish moved in the current. Depending on where you shoot the fish they will drift.
@yesin069 Odyssey did have legacy of the first blade DLC, and the basic idea of AC games killing some order that wants to control the masses. It's not much I know, for me Odyssey made up for it with a splendid build system. Many Many builds that all felt unique, now it don't seem to matter much what armor or weapons you have on in Valhalla. Plus no real skill paths that make anything unique as you get it all eventually. Another big set back for a RPG game.
I think I know what you mean with sports games. Lots of MTX junk that you almost have to get if you want to build up your created character. Some ridiculous attempt at a story that is your carrier. Weird mini games that don't feel like you are participating in a team game. I play mostly Madden and only play franchise mode. Skips a lot of that BS and I can just play and build my team.
@yesin069 I don't mind the break from the assassin style play. Like Odyssey the assassin story was more a background story, we are seeing it come together from many view points, and I'm sure before AC Valhalla is over we will get some more tidbits. What bothers me is we are Vikings that are actively raiding and opening trade yet struggle to make silver. I get there will be more to loot then just silver but we have zero options on what to do with the goods we get except what they intend us to use it for. What if I want to sell it all for silver and lay atop my pile... What if I want to trade it all for one type of product that I prefer over others... and WHY does every trader have the same dang thing?????? If trade and alliances is so important in this game then why can't I go to one city buy up an item then go to another town and sell it/ trade for another? Finding those little mini games like that is what makes a good RPG.
Oh and why is there more silver in the bread basket next to the chest then the chest it self? How does that even make it in the final product?
These things is what kills immersion for me, I want to be Viking!
@c-pick They definitely decided to ignore your own self importance.
I get it's frustrating when games lack the options you like. It's good to speak up, but they don't have to respond or make the change.
Personally I think the hud is very minimal and does not interfere with the environment. I would like options to leave some things on when out of combat.
My idea is more important then yours they should do it first.
@chzdhippt It feels like so many of these desired changes and fixes are getting completely ignored. But hey, we will get one handed swords, that fixes everything.
@chzdhippt Very cool skill, should be better. It does not loot the arrow that made the kill so I still have to run to the target if I want the arrow. The raven will not loot fish, as birds are famous for plucking fish out of the water at the very least it can pick up the ones I shoot. I also agree with the raven looking for arrows in proximity.
@yesin069 I hear ya. I do like the new open world RPG fantasy or syfy direction but understand why many feel the way you do. My problem is they seem confused between the two. Either go full on open world RPG like Odyssey did or go back to a more classic style AC. Valhalla seems like a poor attempt to satisfy both.
The story did fall far away from AC in Odyssey and I was hoping Valhalla would bring it back again. I like the blast to the past idea but feel lost as to why atm. I do too hope they eventually get there. And any future AC games allow us to return to the assassins we love to be.
@smrtiak-svk I just came back when I saw the release of the new DLC so I have yet to learn whatever new stuff has been added. It does look like a few skills did get added, not sure when. Small amount of new gear, not nearly enough for my liking.
Did they add the plus feature yet? So we can do everything again without loss of level or gear???? If not that really needs to be added.
I do agree much more repeatable content and put the settlement to work earning me some silver. The silver blockade in this game for a game centered around raiding vikings is just terrible.
Overall it is a beautiful game I do hope they add a few player desired features besides one handed swords. Oh and the inventory is still a mess.
@smrtiak-svk Many AAA games are only 30 or 40hrs total play time, if that. Not sure your comparison is valid.
I do agree that each new DLC should bring more skills. More of everything, plus something new.
