I’m having the same issue. Get the blade, go to training and the follow Sigurd to the docks and nothing happens. Broken and can’t do anything else now. I’m on Xbox One. I’ve tried all shenanigans with loading previous saves and even loading far back before I went to face the king. Nothing works. Prior to this mission, I did “Seer’s Soloace, but then I just went exploring. Cleared most of Norway basically. Got all the official wealth, did all the synchronizations, about 90% of the artifacts, and did some world events. The last thing I did was the “Rekindling” world event where the couple wants you to raid their house for them while they get it on. That too glitched and couldn’t be finished.

Once I walked through their door, they stopped talking and just sat on a bench. I destroyed their stuff and set the floor on fire, but nothing would proceed. It was then that I fast travelled back “home” and started the family matters > prodigal prince missions and got stuck on the dock.

safe to say that after wandering around and clearing all of Norway, I will not be restarting as I’ve done too much. So, unless patched, the game ends here for me. Too bad. I hope they patch it. Quite disappointed and right now wanting my money back.

Why are we not even getting an acknowledgement, Ubisoft? Can you at least acknowledge the issue and advise on a path to remedy? I’ve given up now. Can’t play the game and I spent $120 on it. It is ridiculous. Please either advise on a remedy or advise on how I go about getting my money back.

Day 8. No acknowledgement or plan forward from Ubisoft about this particular [censored] problem. Soon, they will start to encroach on class action territory. I mean seriously, you have one of the biggest game franchises with a much hyped and anticipated release and what? You don’t staff up to manage customer issues and bugs? Nobody should be waiting 8 days for acknowledgement of a game breaking experience and a path to resolution. Idiots apparently.

Thank you for continuing to report issues with this quest to us. The developers have tried hard to reproduce the issue, but so far have been unsuccessful. I would therefore like to ask that as many players as possible submit their save files to us (only possible for PS4 and PC players) so that they can take a closer look at affected saves and hopefully find the root cause of the problem. If on PC, it would also be helpful if you could submit your MSINFO and DXDIAG files, for us to conduct a thorough investigation into those as well.

Reproducing shouldn’t be too difficult. The only quest I completed out of the gate was “Seer’s Solace”. From there I just explored Norway, entering areas to get the wealth items. Also visiting the high points to open up markers. Once I started doing World events, that’s when things got dicey I think. Some worked for me (like throwing the guys crates over the cliff). Others I didn’t complete (like finding the hair brush around the waterfall because I got tired of liking). After that, I had my first real “problem”. It was with the guy in the cave that wants you to fight him. When I first approached, he just laid on the ground and didn’t do anything. No “Y” to speak or anything. Restarted the game a few times and once just stood there doing nothing next to him. Eventually out of the blue he finally said something and I was able to fight him. I lost miserably a few times and gave up and left. From there I did the event with the raid lovers. The wife went through her initial speech and went inside her house to “tell her husband”. I followed, but once inside, they just sat there. Again, not “Y” to talk. No speaking. Just sitting on a bench silent. I wrecked the place and nothing happened so I gave up. At that point, I had gotten all the wealth items, most of the artifacts, and all the high sight points. I gave up on world events.

i then went back home and launched Family Matters and Prodigal. I progressed until Sigurd said to go to the docks. Then, got the same error as everyone else. He said nothing and I couldn’t proceed. Restarting the mission or loading from previous save points did nothing.

the common theme I’m seeing with peoples complaints is that they explore extensively or attempt world missions before doing the core mission of family matters and prodigal prince. You should be able to recreate it by exploring to gain wealth and starting but not completing world missions it seems to me.

No. I have no interest in restarting from scratch. Will just shelve the game if it comes to that. But, it shouldn’t come to that. They should fix their broken [censored] pile of [censored]. I realize it’s a new release and things take time, but at least acknowledge it and share a plan. Just a bad customer experience.
