Having filters is great and makes sense, but they reset every time I used the navigation.
Go into Rock, select "Bass" and "E Standard"; back out and select Metal instead. Filters have reset and I need to go and select Bass and E Standard again.
This is tedious. It would be much better for the filters to be sticky, with a button to quickly re-set them to "All" if I want to.
I will probsbly try the free week
There's a free week? Well, OK, then I'll probably give that a go.
I don't think we're going to see a return to the good old days of the weekly song challenges though. Shame, those were fun times.
Supposedly weekly releases will be of the 50 size. So that'd be hard to have a puzzle for unless they were all related somehow (like 50 additional wiggles songs, lol)
I don't mean the weekly puzzles. I meant the forum challenge, where we'd pick a song for lead/bass and try and score the best score in Score Attack.
My stats say I've played 0 minutes of "Total Arrangement", but I've played 15 arrangements.
This doesn't make sense.
@danny-ramone Gotta say, I just came back to the forum after a few months break and thought the same thing. This is much less usable, especially from a scanning perspective.
I've since realised that I can change the genre within the filters without going out and back in to a new genre. This works around my specific annoyance, _but_ I still think both should work. Not least because I won't be the only one doing it this way, but I've also noticed other instances where the filters get reset. For example if I use the filters to find a song, then play it. When I back out of the song, the filters are reset rather than still being set to whatever I had to find the song.
Apparently, I can't even quote text. LOL
Anyway, the list that @dataway linked to is underwhelming. While I did find some unexpected gems like Physical (You're So) by Adam and the Ants, there is no Muse.
No Muse! It's a non-starter.
The UbiForward from 2021 said "new authentic arrangements each week."
Given most songs aren't charted and have ARCHI chord charts, they can add thousands of arrangements without ever adding new songs.
My expectation is new charts/arrangements weekly and new songs monthly.
That said, it has been a week and I don't think any new arrangements have shown up, other than community ones.
e.g. on https://www.ubisoft.com/en-gb/game/rocksmith/plus/song-library/search/genre/Rock/1 I can't filter by Bass.

It could be a bit more complex since it seems these forums are templated and shared across many different game forums
Yeah, if this is a third-party piece of software where they can't readily alter the component templates, then perhaps. But if it's in-house or a system where the templates are customisable, then it doesn't necessarily add to complexity. Indeed, it could be argued that it makes it easier to improve all their forums just be improving the component templates, and a lot more people will benefit.
Earlier this year my team got our WCAG level AA compliance up from around 80% to 92% by making mostly small changes to layout templates. Some of them were literally the addition of a few characters (e.g. role="presentation" on an element) that made an aspect go from non-compliant to compliant.
Of course, modifying templates can interfere with applying updates if it's a third-party system, but I think it's important enough that the effort should be made.
I think I'm in the minority here (grew up in 80's UK on the alternative side of the street). For me old rocksmith had a lot of stuff, but a heap that I really wasn't that excited by at the start, but it grew over time.Rocksmith + I took a look at the song list and hope to find something I *might* want to play and...seeThe Clash, Killing Joke, Joy Division, Echo and the Bunnymen, a heap of Frank Black and some pixies covers, Black Flag,New Order.. far more for me personally than RS ever had at launch.
As a child of 80s UK, I feel there's a reasonable about of stuff if I look hard for it.
The huge amount of songs from The Clash is good. I don't think I've ever heard a New Order version of Love Will Tear Us Apart, so cool. I'm in for the Eurythmics set, and I'm happy to see the whole of Adam Ant's Vive le Rock album.
My main reluctances at the moment are that things I know I want to play are dwarfed by "the other stuff", and even within the things I want to play I don't know if they will actually have bass parts. None of the aforementioned Vive le Rock tracks are listed as having bass for example.
The Clash have 108 songs included according to the list at https://theriffrepeater.com/rocksmith-announces-release-date/: (https://theriffrepeater.com/rocksmith-announces-release-date), but https://www.ubisoft.com/en-us/game/rocksmith/plus/song-library/artist/The%20Clash/1 lists 4 songs with a bass part.
Looking at a specific album (https://www.ubisoft.com/en-us/game/rocksmith/plus/song-library/album/London%20Calling%20(Remastered)/c49b121d-0f26-fa1c-7a85-d5dfb86b0a95) two of the 14 songs have bass parts.
This is not a compelling proposition for me as someone who plays bass.
Oh, and as far as I know, they've killed Score Attack which was my favourite part of the game.
Just checking this thread page with one plugin on Chrome (Siteimprove), there are 9 issues and 70+ instances just up to WCAG AA level.
Similarly, Axe DevTools picks up 100+ even with Best Practices turned off.
I bet a lot of these would actually take a dev very little time to fix up.
