Excuse me?
Ubi released one of the most bug filled games in history, we paid full price (I paid over €100) and we're not allowed to get angry when we didn't get a working product?
What the heck is wrong with you ???
@gamesbroke2020
Sorry, but I don't believe you.
There is enough harsh criticism on these forums, which Ubi have NOT deleted. If they deleted your thread, I'm sure the language was worse than this repost. Far worse.
And if this post actually is the the same as the one that was deleted, I guessing it's against the rules to repost it.
I'm sorry but if you can't remember any games with as many bugs as Valhalla then you haven't been gaming long. Every major title I have bought since the release of the XB1 has had launch day issues. And, Valhalla seems to be a hit and miss with bug issues; I have had very few issues with the game. Unfortunately, those who have a bad experience are the ones that cry the loudest and those without many issues are less likely to even say anything. I will add that I have two different XB1s playing Valhalla and neither of us have experienced even close to the many problems people are complaining about.
@JCar4327
This is rubbish in sooo many ways.
First, I've been playing games for almost 40 years. I've NEVER experienced ANY game that is nowhere near the amount of bugs which Valhalla has.
Valhalla doesn't just have "launch day issues". We've gotten 2 patches after launch that didn't do much at all.
Those who "cry" are MANY, and for obvious reasons. This game has LOTS of GAMEBREAKING bugs. Of course we "cry" when we pay for a product that doesn't work.
"Because I don't have problems, there are no problems". Really? REALLY???
Larrykop is right, you're arrogant and wrong. And quite a lot more that I'm not allowed to say here.
Why on earth did you buy it if you hate vikings? We all knew for a long time that it would be viking themed. Complaining about that is just ridiculous, Ubi can't be blamed because you bought a game with a theme you hate. That's entirely on you.
Besides, River Raids isn't DLC, it's free contents for everyone.
Next time, do some research before you buy, instead of whining about stuff which shouldn't come as a surprise to you. The info was literally everywhere months before release.
Sorry, but these kinds of comments makes me laugh. RPG is *NOT* about collecting huge amounts of loot constantly. That is a cheap MMO trick, or clicky Diablo clones to make up for being light on actual roleplaying throughout. I HATE that so many so-called roleplaying games forces you to play the role of a compulsive pack-mule scavenger. Looting defeated enemies is good, but not generally for their armor and weapons, stripping everything bare to accumulate wealth in order to afford overpriced and overpowered gear at your next trader. Rinse and repeat ad nauseam. Gathering resources like in Valhalla is an elegant solution to this issue and it fits well with the narrative of the story. Valhalla is an unpolished gem released a month too early, but your issues are matters of personal taste that are shallow anti-roleplaying MMORPG tropes rather that flaws.
@Revenskrev
Sorry, but this is just ridiculous.
They claimed exploration would be rewarding. And when almost every chest contains a few of the same 2 resources, does that feel rewarding to you? For me the answer is simple: hell no!
Sorry, but I the real "laughable" thing in this debate, is that you seem to believe there are only two options: loot everywhere or almost none. There are plenty of other options the devs could have gone for. Not to mention, you call our taste "shallow" when you're the one defending the most shallow loot system I've ever seen.
Well ya'll Valhalla has officially ticked me off. I'm done with it. I'm over 80 hrs in & its utter trash. I quit.
@Chevy_man2010
Yeah, I'm done too. And I've played less than half of your playtime.
Currently, I'm in Asgard, in a boss fight where every possible bug has hit me, so I can barely do anything, and I'm even more than halfdead before the game has finished loading. And all other saves has magically disappeared so I can't do anything about it.
And at this time, I will NOT start over, because:
And quite a few more issues...
Think I'll replay Odyssey instead.
@kreutzgang
i just dont understand why so many ppl use that setting in the 1st place. How is the game even fun when you remove very kind of challenge for yourself?
Seeing how this setting is even in the game, and so many ppl seem to use i now finally understand why they make their game so easy and simplify everything.
I guess that they cater towards that audience or something.
The problem is?
You can play on whatever difficulty you want, what others do is not your concern and have ZERO impact on you.
@vanillabeare
I'm a Norwegian and I'm not easily offended, far from it. I think Ubi's name choice was weird, but I don't have any problems with it.
You do raise an interesting point, though, but that debate is soon over since they'll probably ban you for obvious reasons.
Btw, Ubi, if you see this: the f word isn't sensored, but an innocent word beginning with garb... that simply means rubbish, is?
@t-h-u-d-d
Absolutely not.
Adding multiplayer to a singleplayer game, and put the best rewards behind mp activities... They did that with Breakpoint (which actually HAS multiplayer options), and that was NOT well received by the majority.
@redw0lfalpha
Odyssey and Origins were buggy as hell at release?
Pulling "facts" from unmentionable places, or? I preordered both games, and played them immediately from release. I never encountered a single bug.
Valhalla, on the other hand, probably has more bugs than all games I've played the last 10 years combined.
@ChrisGansler
Thanks for your links, but...
You need to do something with your marketing team, because they're doing a TERRIBLE job with this game.
Where are the excellent videos, both on the product pages and youtube? Short with tons of info, and without people babbling forever about nothing? You've done that with most other games, not this one. Why?
Heck, even after the fiasco with GR Breakpoint, you did a FANTASTIC job on informing about the changes you made later. But not this time...
Your third link shows a little more than on Ubi Connect, since it lists more of the package contents. But it doesn't explain at all what the different stuff is. Skins and titles are obvious, the rest isn't, at least not to me.
I did watch a little of the streams, but all that horrible babbling about nothing was mostly annoying instead of informative. The impression I'm left with, is that almost nothing has changed since last year's beta. So unfortunately, this is a very clear /pass for me.
But again, thanks for your reply.
Hi, folks
Are there any news about the new Settler game at all? According to the store on Ubi Connect, it's getting released in exactly a month from now, on February 17, and it's available for preorder in standard and deluxe editions. I googled it, and only found info about the old version, except a single Ubi youtube video ("The Settlers - New Allies - Developer's Update"), which had a lot of talk about nothing - the only real new thing is that they've added a forester.
And btw, the store info is absolutely terrible. The Deluxe Edition includes the Explorer Pack and a Deluxe Pack, but not a single words about what those includes. There's also a Founders Pack (preorder bonus) which has a title and a booster, but also 3 "Reef Towers". What the heck are these, and do they even have a purpose? And do we get some homebase to put them on, or are they left behind on some map, or what?
I played the beta last year, and we all know how that went... I'm hoping they've fixed the game, and made it into a real Settler game. But with no info about anything at all, I see no reason to spend money on it.
Please do tell if you have any details on what's going on.
Thanks
Fankly, people not buying a game because it doesn't have Steam achievements, must be one of the most ridiculous things I've heard in a long time.
First, achievements are not game contents, they're just milestones for what you achieved in the game. Well, unless you're a bragger who has to show off to friends how much better you are than them.
Second, even if you buy it on Steam, you need Ubisoft Connect to play it. And it has both achievements, challenges and rewards. If you're the type of player who hunts achievements for personal reasons/goals, meaning getting a personal satisfaction of completing as many as possible, it doesn't matter if it's or Steam or not, as long as they're on Ubi Connect.
Third, Ubi didn't wanna use Steam at all, since Valve keeps 30% of the sale price. And at this stage, I doubt they're expecting a huge influx of sale, and therefore won't put much effort into the Steam version.
There are reasonable complaints, and there are ridiculous whinings. You already know where I think this belongs.
@Ubi-Auron
Whoever wrote the patch notes, deserves a kick in the butt for not making that clear. Saying it resets on Tuesday isn't the same as starting next Tuesday.
And btw, I don't use twitter and never will. Important corrections should appear in the Ubi Connect news section too. At least edit the patch note article to make this clear.
@Shadowstriker55
Nothing weird about that, because no matter what happens with the game, earned achievements will never reset.
@QuantumRSN
Sorry for the late reply.
Open Ubisoft Connect. In the news section, there's a thumbnail with the title: "The Settlers - Register for the Technical Test".
I just checked, it's still there. But it won't be there forever, so hurry
I just registered for the technical test. Crossing my fingers, hoping I'm lucky enough to get in
@Randelia
The patch goes live tomorrow, I guess we'll have to wait and see.
Personally, I doubt it's fixed, because the of the wording. I'm not able to finishing him with a stun attack. As I've said earlier, for me he goes down on his knee, then there's a prompt to press R for that stun attack, but pressing R doesn't work.
In other words, according to the wording, their fix is for problems AFTER a point I can't get past.
When Balor is at 0 health and on one knee attack it with a melee attack.
This triggers the cutscene but it will be glitched, you then need to shoot one arrow to Balor's eye to end the fight.
The first line is where it bugs out for me. When he gets on one knee, there's a prompt to press R for a stun attack. But nothing happens whatever I do. R does nothing, and melee or arrows seems to simply not hit anything.
In other words, I can't get to the cutscene at all.
