this is a brilliant part of the game that is severely overlooked , more rewards and a persistent rank could do wonders for it ... and the game itself in return.

stop wishing that people get punished , that is just a selfish attitude that also reeks envy .
all i hear is , they have more exotics than me , they have more health than me , they have more *insert whatever* than me...
if you were worried about the overall health of the game and its playerbase i would give you a bit more credit , but no , its all envy and the will to see other people get punished because they have something more than you.

had the usual dumb dumbs that get revived and kick you or disconnect , the ones that arent able to see or respond to a simple chat message and all the other less pleasant situations , but i also had a lot of thankful players who were more than happy to endorse me and whished they could do it more , teached a lot stuff , gave a lot of stuff , in general a very positive experience but one that carries no meaning other than my own sense of pride and achievement.
makes me sad UBISOFT and/or MASSIVE are too stubborn to realize that this Shepperding thing , which if you think about it is the total oposite of the the DZ rationale , is exactly what a game like this needs , people teaching and helping each other , not backstabbing and group raping each other forcing new players to get frustrated and uninstall the game.
i firmly believe a persistent rank and some minor rewards along the way would make a lot of people opt in to sheperd , even if out of boredom of having to run the same content again and again .
so i repeat , if a failed (IMO) concept that is the DZ where new (and old) players get frustrated , get ganked and backstabbed leading to quitting and overall player frustration has so many exclusive rewards , like exotics , gearsets, named items , commendations and so on , why cant this obviously beneficial mode to the game , where people get helped , learn and truly enjoy the game have some love too ? is it too much to ask to AT LEAST not reset the rank so people feel motivated to come back to it?
do you even have an idea of how hard this is to achieve? and that its the lack of some form of reward that drives people away from doing it? a simple persistent rank would be enough to suddenly have in game a ton of teachers to help all the new players , that cant surely be a negative thing.
think about it MASSIVE and UBISOFT ,you seem to be unable to recognize and give importance to what really matters , this wasnt easy to achieve , i dare saying it was harder than raiding , how many people have actualy reached 99 sheperd?
i did it like i said for myself , not for some prize or reward but also in the faint hope that someone over there DEVS /PUBLISHER would notice it and that could lead to some changes about it in the future because im not just asking for changes to something i dont know what im talking about and believe me when i say this is one of the many unexplored gold mines in this game.
now i will be off to cry in a corner because this will be only a lovely memory a couple of weeks from now after i get reset.

and for gifting me with eagle bearer, ravenous and almost all the materials needed for the regulus after only one run of each raid , you guys really rock , a great and fun group that carried me all the way through even without a mic and making me laugh all the way!

not trying to defend or attack anyone but players cant be punished for using something that is in game , its the devs responsability to assume the fact they didnt think about it and remove that option from the players , not punishing players for using their brain to achieve something using what is in game.
why do decoys and drones always gave as much points as regular npcs?
why do npcs give the same amount of proficiency points no matter if playing on story or heroic?
why do convoys give double the XP anounced?
why do players restart at the elevator on summit boss rounds if they want?
this is all stuff the devs should be more than aware about as they have been comunicated over and over and over , if it isnt fixed to this day then players cant be punished for using it to their advantage , i mean ... they dont seem to care despite we brought it to their attention multiple times , and besides nothing has to be done to trigger anything , its all just part of the normal gameplay loop.
and want a new one you probably didnt even think about ?
go on summit , normal dificulty , get a hacked drones room , dont cap the servers so the drones keep spawning almost endlessly and use a pulse to kill all the drones even before they get out of the door , profit .
this just isnt better than the tombs because you cant choose to have that room and you have to rely on chance for that , but when you get it ... ohhhh boy.
but rest assured you are not the first white knight that comes through here , and many more will come.
im not a programmer but im guessing this takes little more than a flip of a switch and small UI option to click on .
all the work has been done a long time ago and its on the game , 4 man scaling doesnt give any extra nothing , so nothing to rework with this , just add the switch and let us have fun with our options.
and if this would get any consideration at all please dont lock it to solo play , i would want to choose the scaling no matter what , 2 players 4 man scaling ? lets go!
obviously this couldnt work the other way around so people wouldnt abuse 4 man blazing through stuff with 1 man scaling but the rest is all fair game.
so i logged in , as soon as im forced into the invaded animation , DELTA 03 , i relog , end up in WH , open inventory , realize all i had from PTS 1 and 2 is gone , DELTA 03 , i relog , get put into a queue , couple of minutes , as soon as in WH i change builds , DELTA 03 ...
ok, its the PTS ... but is that really enough of an excuse for something running so badly? and keeps getting worse and worse in every new iteration!! i mean... is there even hope?

OP , post this on reddit , might explode there and have some decent visibility , and thank you for the heads up because this remembers me of some basic math i went to bed doing last night , see if you guys can make sense of it:
we have ATM 344 items to get proficient , at 10 ponts each item , with all proficient that is 3440 points , right?
to get expertise level 20 , at 200 points each level , we need 4000.
this left me scratching my head , at the comunicated rate we would never be able to get to 20 even after getting everything proficient , so what gives?
and now i see your post and realize the problem is even deeper than i thought it was , this needs a clarification from the devs asap.

and out of curiosity , OP , can you upgrade anything to level 30 ? and if so can you share the costs?

i found it funny at the time , now i just find it on point, not funny anymore.
as much as i like this game , if everyone stopped playing it that would serve them well , then they could delay all they wanted because no one would be expecting , truth be said it was probabaly their plan all along , to let it die slowly instead of performing a swift and honest kill , but the quality of the game kept a lot of people in and now their plan is backfiiring on them.

the double XP is for 15 SHD levels , no matter how you get them.

i almost bet this started to happen when they coded that into the similar ones that appear in the summit , where you either kill it before it gets to a spawn closet or it disapears and no loot for you , in a mission context where killing it is essential to progress this happens.
its really a crime that the excelent sound and artwork this game has never really shined to the world due to the way the game was and is managed.

i remember a few years ago this happened to SIEGE , a whole diferent beast that´s for sure , but had the same problem , bad stuff was pilling up and the non stop every 3 months season adding stuff wasnt helping it either .
they decided to dedicate an entire season to the health of the game , DOC was the operator that we could see on the login screen , they even called it operation health , if that didnt happened SIEGE would never had become the monster it is today because people were leaving in packs because of the problems , after that the game never stopped becoming more and more popular.
but this was a game with a dedicated team and lots of resources to pull from , D2 on the other hand... we can only hope for the best .

that has happened to some people on the summit or off site missions due to the already mentioned thousands of times , white oak exploit , you getting it on the open world means servers are getting worse everyday.
ohhh forgot to mention i had a similar thing last night , but instead of the memento stacks it was the hunter fury stacks , they were suposed to last 30 seconds because i was using the chest , but they were frozen and never went away , i could not tell if i was still getting the damage or not because it was a test build , but yeah... this happened.
