Exactly the same problem here, on PS4. First time I approached the gate from inside the city then from outside, also tried going towards it slowly. Nothing works, super long loading screen then stuck into place.

Playing on PlayStation 4. I cleared out the first area of Norway completely before moving to England. When I got to England, I followed the main quest and did the Soma alliance quest thingy first. This made me unlock the opal shop I also build the hunter and did the first quest to go kill the wolves and put the second one on hold. Then build the tattoo hut moving my settlement up to lvl3. That’s when I lost the ability to interact with Reda.
So, I loaded a previous save where I hadn’t upgraded my settlement yet. Weird thing there was that Valka was already at the Seers hut while I hadn’t done the quest to pick her up from the docks. I could pick her up and there wasn’t a second Valka there so all good, I guess.
But when I went back to the hunting cabin the huntress wouldn’t talk to me. I can fully use all the facilities just not accept her quest. (That I know are there from my the previous game.)

Weird note: Reda became adult sized (equal height to Eivor) after I talked to him to accept quests and I couldn’t interact with him afterwards.

I couldn’t interact with the opal shop, so I loaded a previous save. That fixed the problem there, but then I noticed I couldn’t interact with the huntress (I had a quest on hold there).
I no longer have another save before this point now, so cant test if that could solve it.

After spending about an hour making a Jomsviking I finally found one I was happy with. So, I made a save, but just for fun I loaded a previous save and tried some other options. I ended up settling for my first choice, but now after some playtime (about 2 hours of game time after that save point) my Jomsviking changed back to the last Jomsviking I made. (On from a other save I deleted.)

Does the game take your last created Jomsviking and makes that your default for the account? What if you start a new game would the Jomsviking you make there become the main Jomsviking tied to your account?
My desired Jomsviking is still present on that first save however.

A real simple fix would be to just have full customization of our Jomsviking instead of just randomizing.
