For the crushed fisherman quest in Scarborough, the game bugged out and I didn't receive the fisherman's ring after reading the letter. I cannot finish the mission now cause I can't give the ring to his wife. Additionally, the game won't let me read the letter again so I can pick up the ring. How should I fix this issue?

I read the fisherman’s letter but didn’t receive the ring. I didn’t realize that should have received the Fisherman’s ring to give to the wife until I was much further into the game and couldn’t go back. How can I fix this glitch? I can’t read the letter anymore to receive the ring.
