Assassin's creed Valhalla (PC) bugs for me at the quest "A brewing storm".
The game asks me to go to sleep, my screen turns black for a short while, no cutscenes are played.
Afterwards Dag just wanders around town being attacked by everyone. Keeps being revived and fighting again, this cycle is endless.
I have tried to restart the game, verify my gamefiles and return to a save file before the bug occurs. None of these solved my problems.
Changing graphics settings from very high to medium or ultra high didn't solve the problem either.
Feel like a cutscene should be played after I go to sleep. The quest has no instructions at all and I can't interact with any npc in the game or fast travel.
I can not progress with the story of Ac Valhalla until this is resolved.........
@ubi-swaggins
I've already talked to Ubisoft support and submitted a video of the problem and system information.
They told me it was not necessary to post the video to the forum.
Since you're asking for the clip now though: (Apologies for the brightness, it's much brighter for me ingame. The sounds during the gameplay are from Ubisoft support chat)

Everyone that has the same problem and reads this. Please reply to this post so it gets bigger and gets noticed faster.
I've replayed the Cent storyline entirely now and still unable to get the quest to work.
Also want to note the quest does not appear as a main quest and replaces the 'A brief history of the hidden ones' quest in which you need to collect 6 codex pages.
@holydudman16
I've been trying for like 3 days now, I'm afraid this problem requires Ubisoft to patch.
We have people with different consoles complaining so eventually enough people might get it so they have to take notice...
I've just gone back to an earlier save to complete some side activities but I don't know how long that remains interesting.
@gingerface642
This doesn't work for me. I've tried to return to multiple save files before the quest. (Before Cent, Final mission in Cent)
I've also got a manual save in which I still need to report to Randvi and Dag talks to you when you enter the longhouse.
Just to make sure I've now reloaded that save file like 5 times in a row, skipped the 2 conversations and still can't get the quest working. (On PC)
The storm cutscene and Dag shouting just doesn't happen for me at all.
And yeah the autosaves once the quest bugs are annoying. They literally bring you back to where Dag is just an enemy NPC in town dying over and over again.
Would also like to add the disappearance of romance dialogue with Randvi for example. And the disappearance of Randvi's romance quest.
And the bug I'm currently dealing with regarding 'A brewing storm' that's preventing me from actually continuing the main storyline.
I feel like any playtest would find most of these bugs by just playing the game once. Did that even happen here?
I've been stuck killing Dag with my entire town for 4ish days now. No matter which earlier save I use or how many times I try to get the quest to play normally.
@gingerface642
Dag has died a thousand deaths in my game so I'd say he's certainly going through some kind of hell for what he's doing to my game.
I'll keep trying to randomly get the cutscene to play but I don't imagine I'll actually succeed at this point. Maybe we just need to get lucky once.
@holydudman16
Honestly waiting for Ubisoft right now is probably the best option.
Hoping to get the game to work by doing all kinds of random stuff has such a low chance of success.
Returning to early saves, dream quests, upgrading village, changing armor, hair and graphical settings didn't do anything for me.
I just want to kill Dag and make sure he actually stays dead so I can progress the story. The longer I actually spend trying to get it to work only makes me more frustrated it's still not working.
@zlarches03
I finally got a reply on my support ticket from the 13th of November... They asked me if I verified game files and loaded old saves. Which I mentioned in the ticket didn't work.
Feels like they just don't care or read what was said previously. I mentioned this forum topic to Ubisoft support again in hopes a mod will actually comment.
At this point I have no real hope Ubisoft is going to solve/acknowledge this problem anytime soon. I restarted the game days ago and actually finished it now.
Since completely restarting the game worked for me and a couple others It's probably the recommended thing to do at this point.
@justus1302
Well I've finally managed to kill Dag. It took me 13 days and restarting the entire game.
This time around the quest worked as it should. Ravensthorpe wasn't that upgraded, around level 4.
I made sure I did the Valka luggage quest and the quest in which you get the Wolf companion ability. I've also finished the first chapter of Asgard.
None of you will be happy to restart the game, but we also have no idea if Ubisoft is going to patch this issue or when. We also don't know if restarting actually works a 100% of the time.
I myself am finally past this point in the game and will now continue with the story.
Good luck to anyone else experiencing this bug.
@guest-mbm9k7sk
Valka enters Ravensthorpe when it reaches lvl 3, you'll get a quest in which you need to carry her luggage to her home. After this quest you'll get the quest 'In dreams' which is the Asgard storyline.
I restarted the game and made it a point to actively look for this quest in my current playthrough.
I don't quite remember what I did the first time around, probably continued on with the story once I got lvl 3 Ravensthorpe. And didn't look for Valka. Which definitely bugged Asgard out and maybe Brewing storm as well?
I'll probably reach the Dag challenge point in the next couple days again, I'll let you know if I pass it this time around.
@jensime
Because I'm also trying to finish this game before cyberpunk comes out I restarted the entire game. I haven't yet reached this quest, but it solved some other issues I had.
(Like not being able to enter Asgard because I missed the Valka luggage quest.)
I made this topic on the 12th, a mod asked for information n the 14th.We got no reply from any mod since. They've basically ignored this thread AND my personal support ticket for 10 days now.
This issue also still not being acknowledged in the "Reported issue megathreads" is insane to me. How does none see this thread? This is a main story quest.
@jensime
I would like this issue to be acknowledged as well. Right now it just feels like whatever we say falls on deaf ears.
I also don't know if they need any further information to fix this problem.

@gingerface642
I've now upgraded everything except for the fowl farm. Still can't get it to work.
Guess I have to wait for Ubisoft to do something. Whenever that may be.
