@Ubi-Woofer Same issue as everyone else here. PS4 user, started game on v1.0.0 with v1.0.2 downloading in the background. Rescued crew, jumped in the boat, raided the first island I saw, then carried on. Arrived at Fornburg and Seer's Solace quest marker did not show up, so I cannot progress. Since then I have been doing literally everything else in Rygjafylke except Erik Loyalskull. That dude's solid.
I would agree with the general sentiment that some kind of compensation is in order, not just for those who've elected to go ahead with your suggested workaround and thus lost progress, but also for those of us choosing not to have to repeat hours of gameplay. This is, after all, due to a failure on the part of Ubisoft to sufficiently stress test their initial product and day one patch.
This is the first time I've bought an AC game on launch day since 2012 and I realise now that I should have heeded all the warning signs I saw over the last few months while re-engaging with the series. I hadn;t played AC since 3 launched and I bought Origins from the PS store on a whim during lockdown and thoroughly enjoyed it. Discovering that there was a new one in the works I went ahead and picked up a number of other series titles I'd missed, but whenever I got stuck on something and turned to the internet for assistance I found a barrage of bug reports and game-breaking glitch rants for every entry in the series. "No," I thought, "they won't make this mistake again". Oh how wrong I was. Won't be pre-ordering any game ever again. Not just from Ubisoft but from ANY dev. You want me to be a beta tester, pay me for it.
Bring on v1.0.3 so we can finally enjoy Assassin's Creed Breath of the Wild Part III: Skyrim
*Edit: I am so happy right now that my time off request got denied.
@Dase12XX silly me got the gold edition so season pass is already included. I'd take a big ol' stack of helix credits and an exclusive armour/weapon set.
