I agree! I wish they would add an option in the settings menu that would prevent the hood and cloak from changing automatically (going up in a suspicion area or down in combat/on longship) and just let the player decide whether they want it up or down. Also I'd love to be able to toggle the hood separately from the cloak.

You can buy diamond runes from the shop as well once you're a high enough level. Diamond and major runes started showing up in the shop for me around level 250. Your settlement may also need to be level 5 but I'm not sure.
I really wish they would let us have more control over using our hood and cloak. Some people want to use the hood without the cloak, others ( like me) want to use the hood and cloak at all times including during combat, and some don't want to use the hood or cloak at all and dislike that they are forced to wear them in distrust areas. Ubisoft should just let the players decide how they want to wear it. I mean, why add a hood toggle option if it always changes by itself?
@uhthrid I'm really hoping for this option as well. Players should be able to toggle the hood on or off permanently without it changing in distrust areas or during combat.
I feel the same way. I'm currently holding off on upgrading gear because I don't want the appearance to change. They already have the infrastructure in place with the jomsviking system, hopefully they will make it available for players to use on Eivor as well.

Yes! The vest looks so nice but I was really dissappointed they removed the magazine pouches, it makes me not want to use the vest. I really hope they add the pouches in an update.
I think the breach torch should be an ability rather than a consumable item. It's not a combat related item like grenades or C4, and it feels like a waste having it in your item wheel since it's so situational.
@virtual-chris
I may be wrong, but from my understanding the magazine flick animation is activated by the close and personal perk, as well as having at least some overall boost to reload speed. Meaning if you use the perk but have a net loss in reload speed due to weapon attachments then you may lose the special animation.

While I like the idea of gear affecting your stats like damage resistance, stamina, speed, capacity, stealthiness etc. I really dislike the idea of a loadout cost and having to "pay" for your equipment. Regarding MGSV, Konami really got carried away with the deployment costs on the higher level gear they added post-launch IMO as it was intended to be a grindy time-sink for PVP FOB infiltrations. As someone who really only played MGSV for the singleplayer mode, I didn't enjoy having to factor deployment costs into my choice of loadout or avoid using weapons or items I liked because the deployment cost was too high. Having your loadout affect your stats in various ways should provide enough balance without having to introduce a monetary penalty as well.
Suppressors degrading over time was another design feature of MGSV that I never really liked. Having them reduce the damage and range of your weapon is a better tradeoff for the noise reduction IMO (I just imagine I'm using subsonic ammunition in my suppressed weapons).
In short, loadouts and gear affecting stats is a great idea, each base having some sort of objective or viable intel which can then lead to something (a reward, another mission, whatever) is a great idea. But I would be strongly opposed to anything that adds a layer of micro-management or resource grind to the game.

@chuck-boris I'm assuming the mods edited that part out.
I'd love to be able to equip armor components separately. It'd be great to be able to use the shoulder pads and throat protectors on any vest. Belts could be a separate component too!

I'd like to see something like this as well. There are some nice perks on certain weapons I'd like to be able to transfer to other ones.
