Well, that was interesting. Didn't know an update came out. Downloaded, started the game. My character was located in Ireland and now all it does is do the same cut scene over and over until I exit to the desktop. The cut scene is the character climbing into bed, waking up and then it immediately starts over again. Any actions to exit it automatically start it over. So ultimately there is zero way to exit this loop other than quit the game. Not sure if being in ireland makes a difference, but unfortunately it's where I was when the patch loaded.
The temporary fix of trying to open the map didn't work for me. I can get into the sub menu, but the map is unavailable, although the rest of the sub menu's are. Because my game is saved in dublin I'm pretty much sol. It opens at the docks, I access the sub menu being unable to open the maps, then it immediately goes into the loop after exiting.
@ubi-wheelyduck I've had zero issues up until the last week. I've already checked all the connections, etc. the error that comes up: 0x20000019
Haven't had any issues connecting to any other game and even reloaded some of the older AC games to make sure it wasn't my system.
PC version; while talking to Reda, can no longer access the store OR pickup new contracts. Comes up with a connection error.

Okay, posted this in the last boards. Made a report and sent it in...yet here we go again. Attack key is bound to right mouse button, block to left. So of course every time I select the fishing line and aim or cast it automatically attacks/blocks. Is there a way short of buying a controller (only fix I've found so far) to actually do this? The only way I can fish is to shoot everything with an arrow and hopefully be able to retrieve it. Even then it doesn't help with the side quests that require you to fish (cleaned out the pond for the little girl shooting EVERY fish with an arrow) and still can't complete it. I can't be the only one who's having this issue.
I play a left hand configuration. Which means I use the arrow keys (and surrounding) in order to play the game. Unfortunately it means I cannot use any of the "abilities" because who really has hands big enough to stretch an entire keyboard length? They are the only keys that cannot be re-mapped. Fortunately I'm not having any of the same issues that many people are with bugs, etc. I did notice a weird sequence loading when you are starting the dice game. That for some reason the coin flip and initial dice roll seem to be staring at a wall/floor or whatever. It will continue to the game, just takes a second to load the start of the game screen.
Another thing I noticed was the keys themselves. Why so many keys to do what essentially can be done by one? Like having three different "interaction" keys. One to take control of the longship/horse, then another to climb off, then yet another to interact with other objects, etc. When essentially they could have all been mapped the same key, just use the two press times to work them. Like the whistle key. Tap the key and it whistles to get a soldiers attention, hold it down to call your mount. Parkour up/down could be set the same as well. Isn't that how it was all down in odyssey? I know with each game you are trying to "reform" the system, but when you have three keys that can do the same thing it gets a bit aggravating. Especially when you did exactly what you should have with the whistle function. For pc users it would make life much easier to stick to a similar system you had in odyssey. Climbing up/down, taking control/releasing the long boat, interacting with the surroundings could all be done using a single key for each. Not a handful where you spend more time trying to figure out which key at what time. Plus it would make life easier for keymapping when it comes to saving keys for more important things...like the abilities and misc. special action keys.
Been a huge fan since the beginning and the growing pains. Thought you guys were finally getting it right when it came to odyssey and it seems like it's taken a step backwards now. I'm not a programmer/coder, my specialty is mechanical engineering. So I do understand there are some things that change depending on who/how wrote sub routine.
Thanks guys, appreciate the hard work. My heritage is viking, so it's pretty cool to see a lot of the history/mythology combined with a really good story line. BTW, I know the dice game isn't real, but it's damn addictive. If you wrote an app for it you'd likely make a ton of extra money. A lot of fans love it lol
