Sorry, but IMHO the questions you ask users to answer show that you have not even narrowed down the problem.

Of course it seems odd that some players only get the error occasionally but some - me included - get it everywhere anytime for every quicksave / autosave.

Because I cannot edit my post:
I get the error messages everywhere in the game. No matter what location I am at, even when assigning skill/mastery points. Everywhere, any time, every save game except the auto save game CLOUD.
I have more than 400GB of free space.

I am playing on a PS4 Pro which is only 9 months old.
I started to get the „Save game error messages” about 3-4 weeks into update 1.21.
I get the messages every single minute, sometimes 3 times a minute.
Every single save file is corrupt (quick save, if I create a new save game and auto save).
Only the occasional auto save cloud files are fine.

If I don’t click the error message away fast enough, almost the entire game freezes. First I can still turn the viewing angle, but Eivor and everything else is frozen. No button on the controller works (except of course the PS button). If I press the touchpad often enough, I can get to the menu but instead of the world map, I see Eivor in black and white. Then the menu freezes as well and I can only go to the main menu to reload a recent auto-save cloud. So I am loosing all my progress until then.

The game is unplayable.

I tried deleting all corrupt files, even some older save games which were fine, so that I am only left with 5 or 6 save games. Restarted, rebooted the game. Nothing worked.

@garbo3 I always delete all corrupt save data. Never did anything for me. I even deleted save games which were ok in hopes of fixing the issue. I am now left with less than 10 save games. Still nothing changed.

Did anyone on PS4 try to backup the save games. Then delete the game and never play it again reinstall it?
I am just afraid to lose all progress forever.

Someone here stated that it fixed his issue after he startet a new game and then loaded the old one.
If I want to start a new game it tells me that my last autosave will be deleted. Apart from that all my autosaves are corrupt and therefor are deleted, will it affect also my other save games (e.g. the ones in the cloud) or really only the autosaves?

Honest question: Why does Ubi not just fix this issue like other issues ? => Just deactivate the error message or give the option to disable error messages in the menu. Then I could at least play.

So I initialised my PS4 Pro in full. I deleted Valhalla from my external HD and reinstalled it incl. all DLC on the PS4 Pro‘s HD.

Immediately when I try to load a save game from the cloud, the PS4 crashes with error CE 34878-0.

I started a new game from the beginning which works. But that is ridiculous as I loose all my 800+ hours of gameplay.
So I cannot even finish the DLC of Paris.

There is nothing else I can do. Maybe Ubisoft could fix my save games.

Here is what I have tried:

• Make new manual save games
• Made sure PS4 Pro’s System Software & Valhalla are up to date
• Load any save game (autosave, manual save, cloud save)
• Restarted PS4 Pro
• Deactivated Boost Mode on PS4 Pro
• Restarted PS4 Pro and disconnected from Power for more than 1 minute
• Removed Ethernet cable / Internet completely
• Rebuild Database of PS4 Pro
• Deleted the entire game and reinstalled it on external HD
• Initialised PS4 Pro in full = complete wipe of PS4
• Re-installed Valhalla again on PS4 Pro’s HD and downloaded DLC
• Started a fresh new game from 0 which works, but doesn’t fix anything.

No other game I have is crashing.

So, I completely deleted the game. I have rebuild the PS4‘s Database and reinstalled the game on an external HD.

Still the same issue with every save game. After about 5 minutes max the games crashes, no matter what I do. No matter where in the world, e.g. when trying to play the river raid mode.

This is the only game which crashes, no other game crashes.

EDIT: The issue got even worse. I tried loading save games where I would lose more than 10/20 hours of game play. (I have only abou 11 manuals save games). And it still crashes.

I am now initialising my PS4 Pro, so deleting everything re-installing system software etc.

I hope that helps, but have not much hope, as no other game crashes.

I have a PS4 Pro which I just bought new shortly before I got Valhalla in December 2020.
For about 10 months I have a stutter in the game which lasts between 1-2 seconds every 40-60 seconds.

But I still got the DLC and continued playing.
Now I just played about 5 hours the end of the Paris DLC. And just when I was supposed to return to Raventhorpe, the game crashed. Every single one of the 5 save games which was made within the last 5 hours crashes.

I tried everything. I restarted my router, I restarted the Playstation (which has the newest firmware), and also Valhalla is up to date. The only recent save game that does not crash while loading is the one from 5 hours ago.

I am really annoyed. And that seals the deal for me with any further DLCs for Valhalla. I am done.

The weekly connect challenge does not work for me either anymore. At least not completely.

I am on PS4. And the 3 challenges (avenge a player, kill 10 enemies with your horse and 10 from a corner) do not register. I already killed more than 10 with a horse and avenged 3 players.

This happened on Software 1.4 and 1.4.1.

What’s really annoying is that the game still has plenty of bugs after more than 1 year.

I play on PS4 Pro with the newest upadte 1.3.0.1.
I just bought settlement item at Read: The statue with the lightning hands.
So I paid 35 opals. When I wanted to add it to my settlement, it was not there. So I went back to Reda and purchased it again. I got the error, that I already own the maximum amount of that item, BUT I still paid again 35 opals.

@krissyd215 I was about to say that it’s just a matter of time until you get the error elsewhere. But someone else already reported that.
