If your character isn't dead while stuck in the hole you can simply quit and re-load the game.
If you really can't do that for some reason, then just change the difficulty to arcade and keep calling in rebel reinforcements until all the enemies have finally died - then you'll be able to teleport out.
@Dora-Explora I'm suspecting it's a 4-player limit, lol. At this rate I'm half tempted to ask Ubisoft to re-write the code to allow a peer-to-peer option so that people can still play multiplayer when the servers officially go down for good - if they haven't already.
I have to agree - and gaming from the Xbox One version here. I used to be able to get into a single-player game no problem on Wildlands.
Now, at the title screen, "You're now connected to our servers" - click "continue campaign and select my character... "Could not syncronize contacts" - cue enough of a delay loading in that I have time to go fill the electric kettle to make make a cup pf tea, boil the kettle, make tea, finish said cuppa, void my bladder - and still return to the game before I load into the nearest location to where I finished last time...
@EN075 I've managed to actually add a couple of people to my task force through ingame on the Xbox One. A couple of my nephews via the friend list and a couple of people I met through Reddit who were desperately seeking a task force. Essentially you can select the person's name and there should be a button prompt to invite them to task force - if you're a Task Force admin, that is.
@Ubi-Gouda He would be unable to assign someone else as the Task Force leader given that the Task Forces website has been down for several months now - and there has yet to be a resolution to that passed on to us.
There's an extensive topic covering the connection issues over on the main discussion page here - https://discussions.ubisoft.com/topic/158950/unable-to-connect-due-to-ribera-error-post-here/381?lang=en-US
It is a known issue and seems to cover every format apart from PC going by the discussion I've had with various people after my last post in there.
@LumiNexus If you know one of the task force admins, then they should be able to invite you to the task force from ingame. On some systems they might be able to add you via the friends list.
Unfortunately Ubisoft seem to regard Wildlands as a "Legacy" title and are cutting features bit by bit (including some which are REQUIRED for some ingame activities) - hence all the connection issues and the closure of the Ghost Recon Network for Wildlands (although "officially" they haven't done that - but the fact that attempting to go there redirects you to the main Ubisoft page tells us plenty)
I know it'll never happen, but I think the most efficient method would be for Ubisoft to make the Wildlands server software (including Task Force setting up) public as - in their own words - Wildlands is a legacy title that will no longer receive official updates. I'm sure that the community would very quickly get a fully functional service up and running. I'm guessing that it would be simple enough for players to set up DNS redirects to a community server hub.
@GiveMeTactical Does it really matter? Ubisoft have made the decision to neuter a currently active feature in the game by denying people the ability to create and maintain taskforces in order to make doing those challenges possible (and not to mention that you could set up a group of like-minded contacts in the task force without adding them to your friend list)
@wellvalente Ubisoft will likely claim that "The team are looking into the matter" - without ever an explanation for the removal of the site or an update on the issue. Granted, it may well be that the technical team are a literal black hole that absorb all the information that the customer-facing team pass them and give nothing out - or it may well be that "The team" is nothing more than an email account within Ubisoft that hasn't been checked for what is now bordering on multiple years, if the response to customers who have been talking on the forums & twitter feeds are anything to go by.
I do sincerely hope that I'm surprised, and there IS a team that will return full functionality to Wildlands, but to be honest, I really don't see Ghost Recon ever getting the love it deserves after the customers rejected the mess that Breakpoint was at launch, rejected the NFTs within Breakpoint (with a grand total of 15 ever being bought), the mass-rejection of Ubisoft Quartz, which was intended to be the central hub for NFTs across all of Ubisoft's titles - and of course we can't forget the utter fan condemnation of the "Battle Royale" style Ghost Recon Ubisoft had announced some time back, and pulled from development due to the backlash.
As I'm sure the Ubisoft forum staff know, the userbase is far from happy with how much the experience on Wildlands has degraded - essentially since the release of Breakpoint - due entirely to Ubisoft seemingly being unwilling or unable to correct known issues - issues which have only gotten worse over time. From what I've seen, Ghost War has become a near-desert due to a combination of cheaters and connection issues.
@EN075 Well, I'm definitely NOT a fan of Breakpoint. The mess Wildlands is currently in will be magnified a thousand-fold when Ubisoft decide to drop Breakpoint to the degree they have Wildlands - simply because everything in Breakpoint requires a constant online connection to their servers - whether or not you're in multiplayer.
@Ubi-Thrupney It's the same insight I've been sharing for months - both here and on Reddit.
Just for confirmation, the admin of an already existing taskforce can click on the name of a Ghost in their friends list / team, press to view the profile - and from in there there'll be a button prompt to invite the person to the task force. However, ONLY the admin of a task force can do this.
@Ubi-Froggard @iminoline has already said that he'd tried all proposed "fixes" in the forums, suggesting he's already attempted the suggestion from @Ubi-Milky
@Ubi-Froggard Task force challenges ARE still possible to do - but the page that used to be used for setting up and maintaining Taskforces now just redirects to the Ubisoft Paris page instead, which means that creating, maintaining and communicating with task force members is now impossible. On some formats it might be possible for the admin of an already-existing taskforce to invite someone into their task force from ingame, but people have reported different results.
@RBIU Running your message through google translate (and I'll run this response through google translate back to your language so it's readable in both languages - well, as readable as Google Translate can manage...), it appears to be that you've actually left the game running for 3 days straight after buying it digitally on the PC - and STILL can't connect online. Ubisoft will recommend you open a support ticket then tell you the team is looking into it. I'm sure, as you've read in the topic so far, Ubisoft have yet to show evidence on any solutions from "the team" over the past couple of years have solved any issues at all.
As @MikeWeeks has said, the ability to create a task force has been removed due to Ubisoft taking down the Ghost Recon Network pages. It "might" be possible for someone else to invite you into their task force - but it isn't possible on all formats from what I gather.
If it's prestige points you're after then - aside from the single-player challenges, you have the Ghost War mode challenges as well. From what I gather though, Ghost War has been losing players massively due to the sheer amount of connection issues that have been prevalent over the past year or two - which "the team is investigating", although there's been no official resolution to them from Ubisoft - aside from telling us that "the team is investigating"...
