Pretty sure the last 5 of my 115hrs have been me trying unglitch this quest. What with this and the never spawning fish, I think the actual game is only about 40hrs of my playtime.

This needs patching and probably I've learned my lesson with this and Watch Dogs to just wait a month or two after release before I buy.

@killyoazz420 Me too. Been like that since day 1 for me. The bear gets to the lake, then does his thing. Never leaves the lake, next stage never starts.

Did all your steps, WAS ABLE TO FINISH this mystery!!

No achievement popped! Reperformed the steps again, I have MANY saves to fall back on, didn't pop again. After the third attempt, I travelled to Norway and Finland on the off chance I'd missed something (I hadn't). As soon as I landed in Vinland, it popped!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

tl:dr; Fast travel to each country, just in case the game needs to 'see' you've completed those areas too?

@kewbee428 They'll say they're looking into it, which they say they are, but then it won't get fixed next patch I bet. Even though this has been know about as soon as people first made it to Lunden. I don't have any faith in 1000/1000 this on the Xbox at all. I hope I'm wrong.

@luvbeers7 Trouble is my 1x1 box is now jammed against the wall your Eivor is looking at, completely over the tracks it's supposed to be behind. I think it's permanently stuck on that sack that's in that corner. Spent another hour on it last night, hoping throwing a body would just 'catch an edge' to start it moving again, but nope, no chance. Tried reloads/close downs/quit to menus/deleting game and redownloading. Nothing. The guy's there but won't leave, even though there's NOTHING IN HIS STUPID [censored] WAY.
