I see a lot of people saying they want new missions instead of variations of old mission area's. So I though, "let's see what kinda new missions people could think of".
Rules:
1) the location: where does the mission take place and how does the environment look? The more specific the better. (Give yourself a challenge and try to put the mission in the already existing maps. DC, NY)
2) the enemies: which enemies are part of your mission? Who are the bosses?
3) the story: Every mission has a story. What are the enemies doing? Why are they there to begin with? And what is the reason the agent gets involved? (The story doesn't have to be tied to the story the devs are building. You can ofcourse but you can also do something else.)
Optional: post some pictures to give people an image how your mission would feel.
So here is my idea. No I'm not that imaginative but I tried to create something fun.
NY, East river. Black tusk has setup a forward base on the water, between the wall street ferry and the zip aviation, from which they're moving supplies into the city. It's the divisions task to destroy those supplies, neutralize the black tusk commander and take the base. The mission starts on the wall street ferry pier where the agents use a drone strike to blast a whole through the wall. And take out some of the nearby infrastructuur (mostly just vehicles and small defenses). The entire base is immediatly put on high alert. Black tusk start opening fire on the agents but are quick dealt with. The agents move through the base destroying small baches of supplies before locating a supply depot on the other side of the water. They call in another drone strike but the drone gets shot down by the nearby hovercraft. The agents move to the supply depot and blow it up with c4. A black tusk osprey helicopter flies in and drops of troops including the first boss of the mission, lieutenant carter. She is an assault with access to an rpg. She looks like a drone operator only without the drones and a head like the black tusk rusher (still with a pony tail). She taunts the agents. Saying that they're nothing more than a soldier with a fancy toy (ISAC). After the agents kill carter and the black tusk grunts, they move towards the zip aviation pier where black tusk have setup a comms station. The division captures the comms station and moves on to the hovercraft. The hovercraft entrance is being defended by two turrets and some grunts. Inside the hovercraft there are more supplies which the agents destroy. (At this point, if it wasn't already, it's going to feel similiar to tidal basin). The agents move up to the deck of the hovercraft where they find the man in charge of this operation. Paul O'Brien. He's a grenadier. Wearing a similiar outfit as scheaffer only his chest looks armor looks like the negotiater's dilemma and with one of those a bullet proof helmets. (Like wyvern has). He's angry for what we've done. Apperently he was planning to take lower manhatten for months, and he was going to do it with those supplies to prove himself worthy of becoming the new btsu leader. He then attacks the agents with his moddified grenade launcher which can rapid fire cluster munitions that cause bleed. When the agents take him out they fire of a flare and the mission ends. The players can then repel of a rope near the engines to get back behind the hovercraft and walk through the zip aviation building back on to the streets of NY.
Wall street ferry pier.
Zip aviation pier with comms station (Door will be closed when mission is not completed).
Black Tusk hovercraft where the final boss fight takes place.
The East river between the ferry pier and aviation pier/hovercraft on which the base will be build. (Entire area will look similiar to the parts in tidal basin that are on water and the end of invaded Roosevelt Island. A large wall with sniper towers with search lights on them will split the base from the road.)
I also wrote some character dialoge.
"The mission starts"
Roy Benitez: Ok agent. We will make the entrance from there on out it's up to you.
Paul Rhodes: You might wanna stand back.
"The division enters the base"
ISAC: intercepting hostile communications.
Paul O'Brien: What the hell was that?
Black Tusk soldier: The division has breached the perimeter!
Paul O'Brien: Copy that. Everyone, neutralize those agents.
"The agents spot the supply depot"
Lieutenant Carter: Paul I'm on approach with the remaining supplies keener had on libarty Island.
Paul O'Brien: Then you better get armed up. We got division on site.
Lieutenant Carter: I'm gone for 10 minutes and you lose control? Typical.
"the drone comes in for an airstrike on the depot"
Paul Rhodes: alright agent. Get ready for some fireworks.
Paul O'Brien: Oh no you don't.
"The drone gets shot down"
Black Tusk soldier: target has been destroyed.
Paul Rhodes: God damnit.
Paul O'Brien: Good now let's clean house.
"agents blow up the depot"
Roy Benitez: For your knowledge. Whe can see the fire from here.
"Osprey helicopter arrives"
Lieutenant Carter: Alright agents. Show me what that little AI can do.
"Agents neutralize Carter"
Paul O'Brien: Carter what's your status? Carter? F*ck.
Paul O'Brien: I'm not losing this base. Call for back up. Get everyone back here.
Roy Benitez: unless you want to fight of a small army, I suggest you intercept that signal.
"Agents intercept the call for back up"
Paul O'Brien: What just happened?
Black Tusk soldier: Division hacked the comms. Were on our own.
Paul O'Brien: Copy that. Everyone, get onboard we're leaving. We got enough supplies on the hovercraft.
Roy Benitez: agent we can't let them get away. You got to get on that hovercraft.
"Agents get onboard, destroy the supplies and get to the deck"
Paul O'Brien: Do you have any idea how much work you destroyed. I will take this city and I will destroy the division. And it starts here. By killing you.
"The division neutralizes O'Brien"
Roy Benitez: You did good today agent. If those supplies got on the street. I'm sure they would have had the fire power to take this city and kill everyone in their way. Thank you.
I worked really hard on this and I can't wait to see what you think about it and your ideas.
So I love the specialization weapons for each their own reasons. Except for the technician. Why? Because a seekermine is more likely to succeed in the job that rocket launcher was made for. The rockets don't go around cover and I even had it happen where I had enemies turn into F1 cars and straight up outrun the missiles. This includes juggernauts. A seeker does go around cover and keeps following the target till it can hit and if you feel like your seeker might miss you can just call it off. With seekermine cluster variation you can target multiple enemies so that's another thing the seeker and the rocket launcher have incommen. And last the rocket launcher is a specialization weapon so you have limited ammo. Meanwhile a seekermine can be dropped every 20 to 30 seconds.
I think their should be some changes made to the specialization weapon. Or even change the weapon itself (tho I doubt that would happen).
I'm going to be honest tho. I couldn't come up with any way to change it. So to people reading this and you agree. Feel free to post your ideas. Or if you disagree tell me why.
(Also srry for bad spelling and grammer)
@gamecrusher447 take the fact ,dude. the game have ended its life.
You ask me to name one thing. I name multiple. Then your response is the game is dead? Certified bruh moment right here.
@Phenomenon47
I kinda agree. Everytime a enemy punches kicks you. The agent almost falls over. But when we punch or slam our gun into an enemy it does nothing. Except for getting a punch back and we fall over again. Melle itself is so useless that there is a named holster that gives you 500% more melee damage and you still can't 1 shot red bars with that. Not saying we should because then the other exotic shot gun becomes useless (the one that makes you able to 1 punch red and purple bars). And that shotgun is useless that I can't even remember it's name. No one useless melee in this game. It's basically a death sentence. Because you get hit back, fall over and get lit up by everything in the room.
Melee needs a rework!
That's a sentence I'd never thought I'd say. Or type.
First of I wanted to thank massive for finally giving us some new legendary missions (and a new roadmap).
Some might say it's far to late and should have been done years ago. I understand that and agree to an extand.
But better late then never.
Now I would lie if I would say everything is going to get better. There will probably be some bugs and things coming with season 10.
But let's look at the positives today.
So I've wanted exotic appearance mods ever since they became a thing. But I know it's easier said then done. In pve it doesn't hurt anyone but in pvp (I find this argument to be stupid but I get where they're coming from) you gotta be able to see what gear they are using.
Reasons for why I find argument stupid.
1: You're to busy shooting each other to really look at the gear.
2: There are apparel items that can hide the kneepads/vest/mask.
3: If you kill them, who cares? If you die, you can inspect them.
Back to the point. So the idea actually is already in the game. Just not for armor, but for specialization weapons.
It's the new feature they implemented this season. Make an on and off switch for appearance mods. This way people that don't care can use exotic appearance mods and the people that do can turn them off and see directly what the enemy player is using (if they don't wear a certain pair of pants or shirts/hoodies and basically any mask in the apparel slot).
Some pictures of how characters could look if this were a thing. Bc why not
@desrocchi
If everything would be obtainable through one way. What would be the point of anything in the game. We wouldn't need anymore new content. No new missions, no new gamemodes, no new raids, now new seasons and no more pvp for exclusives because I can obtain every item by killing red bar npc in the open world. It's a looter shooter for crying out loud. Things will be put behind certain activities.
You're allowed to not like it. But just like in real life. You can’t get everything you want if you won't put in the effort.
So to awnser your question (even tho it wasn't directed at me). Yeah I'd rather get something by doing something I dislike then get everything by doing what I like. Why? Because it would get boring doing the same thing over and over and over again.
Alright. I asked you to just drop it. But nooooo. You wanna keep it going. Let’s keep it going then.
That's the question YOU have to answer... YOU are the one who says that people need to run raids or legendaries to get specific drops, yet you then turn around and say that they should just follow you without doing anything and the drops will be handed to them.
And yet I asked you. But you don't have a good awnser so you turn it back to me. I already awnsered that question. Also I'm not telling them "hey guys. Come to me for free stuff and worship me as a god you pessants". If someone asks me nicely like, "hey if you get ... to drop. Do you mind giving it to me? I don't have one yet". I don't see why I wouldn't. There not complaining about how bh should be in open world loot pool so they can farm control points on normal. Cause if they do that. They can forget it.
You have arbitrarily decided that what YOU like is fun, and what others like is not fun.
It's just that they're not as good as you and they can't do the "fun" parts of the game that you engage in.
1. Tell me you're bad at the game without telling me you're bad at the game ^. 2. I don't get how your brain works. Guess your ego is just bigger then your IQ. Everyone has fun in their own way. Never said my stuff is the only fun stuff. But you seem to only hear what you want and make up the rest. I only said "my thing is more difficult. There for it deserves a better reward".
I don't know, YOU are the one hung up on this! YOU are the one who insists that nobody would play a raid without exclusive gear, even though people who do just that has already told you IN THIS VERY THREAD that they don't care for the exclusive gear!
IT'S A MINORITY. (SEE I CAN USE CAPITAL LETTERS TOO.)
Letting people have all the possible gear just means they can test more playstyle in the part of the game they enjoy the most! Why would you care WHERE I got my gear? What happens to you if I get an EB in the open world or through a raid?
"Hey you got an eagle bearer too?". "Yeah. Took my about 100 chest to get it. That's around 400 raid clears. How many take you to get it?". "Oh I didn't do the raid. I don't like raids". "Oh, so a friend dropped one for you. Must be a nice guy". "No I got mine just now from that chest down the street". "So you're telling me I spend hours, no days, nah weeks grinding my but off to get this very strong and special gun by going through the hardest content which I had to do with 7 different people. Just for all that to be on a equal scale as a chest that drops purples and yellows".
You think it's some kind of status? There is no status attached to it since YOU are giving it away for free to people who just group up with you in a raid!
Yeah because they still ran the raid! They still did the work!
I'm not telling YOU for sure, I don't even know who you are, I'm telling it to the devs and lots of people have been telling them since TD1...
Yes YOU are! And there have not been that many people complaining. You're the first I've seen and if they're all like you. I'd like you to be the last.
I don't, have you missed that part of what I've been repeating?
If you don’t like it don't do it. Stop complaining you're not getting stuff from things you're to lazzy to do. Cause anyone can run legendary it's no exactly a "skill issue". You just gotta be paticient.
On the other hand YOU are the one who keeps repeating that some gear should be lock behind "difficult content", just to then say you give away that gear for free to people who did not engage in that "difficult content".
See you don't play with people so you don't know how the sharing system works (you never said that but since we're making falls claims to back up our argument anyway). You can only share with the people that are in your group when the item dropped. You know what that means? IT MEANS THEY WERE IN MY GROUP WHEN WE RAN THE RAID/LEGENDARY MISSION!.
FFS, YOU are the one who gives away those rewards for free to the people YOU are labeling as undeserving and "lazzy" [cit.]!
If you really think they don't deserve them, YOU should be here saying nobody should carry people though raids or give away the exclusive loot!
Reading this I'm losing braincells. I already explained this I won't do it again.
I just told you I spent a month doing legendaries on my own to get the BH, but probably you missed that since you seem to miss a lot of what's being told.
Again. No good argument so instead you try to insult. If you're going to insult me atleast try to make a good point while you're at it.
I just play solo, I don't group up for anything, I don't even play countdown because it requires a group, yet you seem to think I don't do raids because they're too hard for me... SMH.
I don't know if you lack social skills or are just that arrogant that you think that eveything should be how you want it to be. "I dOn'T lIkE oThEr pEoPlE. SO eVeRyThInG sHoUlD bE aBlE tO dOnE sOlO."
Wanna hear a secret? I'M A SOLO PLAYER TOO YOU SELF CENTERED .... but I still play with people when it comes to raids and legendary and countdown and whatever because that's how it is and how it should be. Do I like it? No. Would I like it if I could do legendary solo? Sure. Do I there for have the right to ruin someone else's hard work and time. No. No I don't think I do. SO WHY DO YOU?
You know what? Don't awnser that. I don't want to know, nor do I care. Your just so ignorant.
Why must everything be how you want it to be? I atleast make good arguments for why it shouldn't change. An I'd LIKE it. I'd LIKE to just be able to run through the street pop a random dude just to get an eaglebearer. I'd like to not have to run a raid with 7 strangers which have no communication. Over and over and over. But if I were to get an eaglebearer from a random red bar while others have spend months trying to get one from the raid. I'd be pist off if I were that player. All that time and effort. Just for them to hand it out like it's nothing. IT'S NOT NOTHING! You don't get it's not even about the people that don't have it. IT'S ABOUT THE ONES THAT DO. You're talking about making a lot of players their spend time completely irrelevant. And everyone that doesn't agree with you is some kind of facist elitist.
I'll try to explain to the best of my abilities. So you we're talking about umbra mask with 170k armor and 2 times 12% crit damage.
So first umbra will always roll with a red core. This means you'll have to use recalibration to change the red core to a blue core. You'll need to find a mask, any mask works, that has a blue core. If you're lucky it will be maxed out and already be at 170k. If you don't find a mask that is maxed out you'll need to go and optimize it. This will boost the stat till it's maxed out. Will cost you a couple materials but you should be good.
Now to the double 12% crit damage. So bc you had to reroll the core to blue you can't reroll anything else on that mask. Which means that the mask had to drop with crit damage from the start if you want a double crit damage. Now again if it isn't maxed out you can go and optimize it.
Last the mod. This is the difficult part. Maxed rolled mods are rare. Very rare. You're more likely to get a raid exotic then 2 maxed out crit damage mods (This is meant to be a joke but it's also a little bit true). Since mods can't be optimized there is only one thing you can do. Well 2 but 1 is more likely to work. You can A: craft mods and hope you get lucky. This will cost you a good amount of resources tho. Or B: go to targeted loot mods and go farming and hope you get lucky.
If I could give you one tip. Turn you're world to the highest difficulty when farming. It makes all drops roll with really high stats. This also includes crafting. Crafting in a heroic world gives higher stats then crafting on a normal world.
Hope this helped
I've done this a couple times before bc I like sharing whatever my brain can think of and Idk where else I could post it anyway.
So this time I didn't create a new area and instead I'm following massive's example and made use of an already existing area
Format of this post is simple:
Location, enemies, discription of how the mission will go
location: Washington National Airport
Enemy: Black Tusk
Boss: Alexander Young
Alexander Young is one of the Black Tusk's youngest and most elite soldiers. Having worked for Darpa before being employed by Black Tusk. While he has less combat experience than some man under his command. He makes up for it with his ruthlessness and his mind. Alexander is a tech specialist and the head of Black Tusk's R&D unit and does not tolerate incompetence.
Agent arrives on site:
Alright Agent. According to our intel. Young has turned the airport into his personal BoO. Make your way through the sewer. From there you can get on to the Tarmac. Be ready for anything.
As the agent move on to the Tarmac a Black Tusk cargo plane flies overhead, coming in to land.
As the agents engage some Black Tusk grunts outside the Terminal ISAC intercepts some hostile communications.
ISAC: Intercepting hostile communications.
Black Tusk Soldier: Sir. We've got hostiles outside the Terminal. It's The Division.
Alexander Young: Copy that. I can’t have some agent interrupt my operations. Take care of them yourself if you need to.
The agent takes care of the hostiles and moves into the Terminal. Engaging more Black Tusk infantry and turrets they have setup.
While fighting more communications are intercepted.
Black Tusk Soldier: Sir the first Razorback is ready and the other at 34%
Alexander Young: Copy that. Launch the drones. We'll flush these agents out.
As the agent moves towards the Hanger a group of drones comes in through the windows. The agent makes quick work of them and arrives at the Hanger.
The Hanger is split in two by a gaint cargo plane. They go down an elevator shaft on the left to enter the Hanger since the one on the right is blocked.
Once inside the Hanger the agents are being ambushed by more hostiles. Once they're taken care off, the body of the plane gets lifted up and more hostiles come in from the other half of the Hanger.
Once the Hanger is clear the agents use the elevator on the rightside of the Hanger to get on the catwalk and walk over the wings of the plane to get on the other side.
From there they can exit the Hanger and move back into the airport.
Once the agents are outside more drones come flying in from over the buildings.
As they take them out they intercept more communications.
Alexander Young: I've lost contact with Bravo unit. I want everyone on site to engage the hostiles.
Alexander Young: I've got my orders and so do you. I will not tolerate anymore failures.
The agent moves through the airport, facing heavy resistance from soldiers, drones and turrets. They will fight to their deaths. Fearing the consequenses of another failure.
Once they make it to the Concourse the agent gets ambushed by a group of grunts, warhounds and drones.
Once the area is clear they intercept more communications.
Alexander Young: Omega unit what's your status? Omega unit do you copy?
Black Tusk soldier: Sir. The second Razorback is fully operational at 100%
Alexander Young: Launch every drone we've got. I will not lose this airport.
Manny: This is it agent. Remember alexander is one of the Black Tusk's most elite soldiers. He will not come quietly.
The agents move out of the Concourse and back on to the Tarmac. Once they jump down the boss fight begins. The Razorbacks open up as they launch a swarm of drones. The agent fights of the drones and Black Tusk soldiers while targeting the Razorbacks their weak spots.
When both Razorbacks lost 1 weak spot the agent will have to force them open by hacking them.
Once both Razorbacks have been destroyed Alexander will enter the area from the top left corner where the plane is located.
Alexander Young: Alright agent. Let’s do this.
Alexander engages the agents with his ACR assault rifle and KSG shotgun while also making use of his striker drone.
After a hard fought battle the agent gets the upperhand and takes out Alexander.
Manny: Well done agent. You just prevented a major drone attack against the city and with Alexander out of the picture Black Tusk's R&D unit has taken a major setback. I'll send in a squad to recover whatever intel we can find. Great Job.
And that's it. This one took a very long time to make (2 hours) so if you liked it. Pls show it by liking this post or responding to it. Anyway if you got any of your own ideas pls tell. I'm always interested in what people can come up with.
never noticed or heard about it, i believe you though.
I'll just show you
These are the best pics I could get real quick
how is that possible? its not possible to change the look of any exotic.
I can actually elaborate about this since I have the same thing. So that back pack has a couple parts on it that are red, green or blue. It's completely random
Dear devs. Since there is no reason other then "I wanna play the raid cause I feel like it" I think it's about time you make missions take place in these areas. Since you've effectively killed the raids and wasted everyone's time by making them work their butts of for exotics that are now about as special as the pestilance. Sure it's been a couple years. But for some people that's about how long it took them to get the guns.
Skip if you don’t wanna hear me complain about people complaining to people complaining.
—————————————————————————
And before someone comes along with "It's not work. It's a videogame." Work ≠ Job. When you go to school you work. When you do chores around the house you work. Work is taking time and effort and putting it into an activity.
Or if someone comes along with privilege blah blah blah. If to people want a promotion. 1 does a lot of work and the other does nothing and they both get the promotion you can bet the guy that did the work is gonna be annoyed bc he didn't have to do all that work apparently. So yeah. Maybe having that gun is a privilege.
——————————————————————————
All the loot in the raid is now up for grabs in the openworld or DZs which means a lot of players won't play raids anymore. I think putting missions in these areas would make sure that at least they won't go to waste.
I mean.. you make do a lot of fun stuff in an airport. Remember Colonel bliss from the division 1. Just saying a chopper fight in an airport is pretty cool
I actually disagree. I like these kind of enemies for 2 reasons. 1 it keeps you on your toes. And 2 it forces players to get out of cover once in a while. Same for all the drones, rc cars and tech. People find it unrealistic. Srry to break those people their bubbles. But the division 2 is not meant to be the most realistic game. It makes for a diverse spectrum of hostiles. I understand that when you're in the darkzone it's not ideal to have an explosion in your back. But otherwise they'd just shoot you anyway.
Besides. They're not really difficult to kill. Outcast you just shoot in the chest, drones have almost no health so pop them when they're being deployed just like hyena rc car. Outcast car is actually quite simple. Let it come at you dodge roll out the way. You then have a clean shot at it's weak point.
Don't think in problems. Rather think in solutions.
If the Raid losing, it's locked content destroys it. Then the content is weak and wasn't worth the time spent on creating it.
That's probably the dumbest argument anyone can make and it suprises me how many people do it. The content isn't weak bc it needs a gun for people to have a reason to play it. It makes it so that newer players want to go into the raid.
Now locking loot behind it was a dumbest idea and always has been. It's too bad they haven't come up with a challenging way for the LZ players to get these items without forcing them to play content they don't want to play.
This doesn't make sense. You just said locking gear behind content makes it bad content. Now you want them to make challenging activity to lock gear behind. Dubbel standards just whent out the window Ig. I mean.. this just screams angry solo player.
throw in a guy that knows his game in the middle to keep dismantiling all the theories live as it happens and you would have a killer stream , comedy gold.
I'd like to volenteer on that offer. As someone who has done the whole manhunt on heroic solo and only died once in the lucky bounty. Not lucky mission bounty. The one you need to do to unlock him.
Even helped some of my clan members with their lucky bounty. Both were dead. I come in instantly armor goes away bc I had a prototype healer build. Didn't get downed once and got them that completion.
@gamecrusher447 Wrong. HITMAN Trilogy showed too well we do not need to spare Targets to write them well, on the contrary. Watch IOI's Lead Writer "writingsplaining" you here at 0:28 mark:
This said, I hope Natalya kills Anderson the second she does not need him anymore. I wonder if we will fight her, though.
You really comparing HITMAN to The Division 2. It's a completely different style of game. A great game saga but still very different.
you can only equip 2 exotics. You can equip a maximum of two pieces of exotic gear. One weapon and one armor.
I think you misunderstood the question. They we're asking which ones you actually use frequantly
Change it into those Kamikaze Drones like the Black Tusk ones.
Or switch them around
- We get Kamikaze Drones (with nerfed Skill Haste)
- They Get Bombardier Drones (+ massive Buff)
Because right now it is too slow, and the damage isn't good at all...
Yes you can drop 11/12 bombs at Skill Tier 6, but only 1 "per radius".
So you:
- Aim at 1 or 2 enemies
- Mark their spots
- Activate the Drone
- The enemies already moved to a different position
- Your Drone missed all of the targets (maybe hit 1 by coincidence)
- Change back to a StickyBomb or Seekermines
(Or Mortar Turret if you don't already have it equipped)
Do at least something because it's really bad!!
Fun idea. But you could never use it in pvp bc you'd have the same fate as those drone operators. They get shot over your head and boom. Still it's more effective then our current bombardier drone
If I could give my own idea. Keep it as it is. But use make it drop fire bombs instead.
