@but00040004 I have had enough of this pathetic help desk and requested a refund. I was refused immediately and now waiting for that same help desk to respond. I have researched this company and they are being watched closely by Australia's ACCC, the same consumer rights association that have successfully sued many companies for refusing refunds in Australia eg. Valve(Steam $3.5mil) and Sony Entertainment(Games) and ZeniMax Media Inc(Fallout 76). If the next email from them is "we have stolen your money and we don't care" then I will open a complaint with the ACCC and already have that form bookmarked.

This help desk just informed me that the game won't launch on my 32bit OS LOL they said it's in my msconfig!(I can't even find the line stating this ) I haven't used a 32bit OS for decades... Currently using Win10 pro 64bit v21H1.

They also said that there is an issue with a program called 'Armory Crate' and my jaw dropped! This is 'non-negotiable' ASUS motherboard software(Z490) for both ROG and Tuff Gaming.

And finally I use a higher DPI for my old eyes, so turned it all off and had to put my glasses on to even see the screen lol, launched the game and ta-da.... Crash!

I have changed NOTHING in my computer, or software to warrant this pathetic response from them, and all other hi-end games work flawlessly on my A$6000 rig!

So I GIVE UP Ubisoft, not one more cent from this 15 year customer, never again will I do business with you.

@tipp3xx Just stop! Please; and everyone else, STOP telling the community that all their issues can be fixed if they follow YOUR fix! Just stop! This is 100% Ubisoft and the game should NOT have been released until these issues were ironed out - that is game design 101! I mean, come on, did they even test it on the 3080's in-house? I pre-ordered this MESS.......

@shanecairns Mate, I received a response from them today and it seemed to be a bot... same old 'go here and read this, then try it all again backwards' CRAP. It's like they are asleep at the wheel. I'm going for a refund very soon, but not just for the fact that I can't play it, but 'they' decided no RTX 3080 owners can have the graphic dlc, what the hell is with that? My ROG 3080 can play anything on the planet! Even MSFS on Ultra and that's saying something right there lol.

I am using a ROG Strix i9 rig, ROG Z490-F Gaming with a ROG Strix RTX 3080 oc v2. All drivers ans OS are current.
All but one other game(Cyberpunk) loads up and performs like they are on steroids, including MSFS 2020 and your very own Assassin's Creed Valhalla.

But this game I pre-ordered will not get past the first screen with the farther and son in the back of the car.
It all downloaded perfectly and launched to that point, then nothing but a load icon.

Please take note about my 2020/21 ROG pc that runs any other game flawlessly - (ACV on ultra). I should not have to change a thing, nothing at all, this game is not getting past the video card load.

I just wanted to recap my earlier post that ended up being a fix for my game, as I just passed 90% completion using 2560x1440 - 144Hz with every setting on ultra. I've had a few CTD's but around the same 6 hour mark like AC Valhalla and I think this is a controlled 'go stretch yer legs' thing as it always happens with Ubisoft games.

The issue was with the QoL update for Windows 10 - 21H1 and as strict as I am with my IT work, this one slipped by me. The download/install of this patch was corrupted but allowed most 'other' games to work flawlessly whilst creating CTD's for anything new. I went with a full re-install of Windows and all drivers as I was over due for a clean OS, although I would never suggest this for something simple, this was effecting FC6 and Cyberpunk2077, with other big titles due for release early 2022 so I went with my gut and just did it.

Result, all games in my stable work perfectly and as if they're on steroids.

This is a HUGE update to my case, and may be of help to others. I am still not happy about the HD-texture pack DLC not being for my ROG Strix RTX 3080 oc v2 (10GB) but the fact that I got to play the game is enough to keep me happy.

The problem was 100% related to the latest Windows 10 update 21H1 ! This has to be the most Uncommon thing to happen to me in years, cheers Microsoft
There were too many errors relating to this update, and after some investigation, it seems the update can get corrupted during install, as was the case with my OS.

So to be sure, a complete reinstall of the OS was needed, but the fresh install removed many unused apps and files, albeit at a headache induced few days to get a ROG Z490-f Gaming and it's Armoury Crate working - ASUS, in their wise wisdom didn't factor in that their entire suite needed Windows update 20H2 installed to even install. Yet the onboard Ethernet NIC needed this software to work (I had to use a paired mobile phone for web access to get this huge update).

My 'advice' would be to try and roll back the 21H1 update and test the game. This can be done easily through Windows update and then reinstalled it again after testing.
It's a big task though, so be sure you know what your doing. But perhaps a fresh install of 21H1 will fix issues for many. It worked for me, but may not work for all/others.

Update: The game works perfectly on 'all' Ultra, with the HD Texture Pack DLC installed, no lag or jitters. This may be achievable for me due to the GPU being factory overclocked but still 10GB. The HD pack can be turned off/on in the graphics menu too plus a lot of sliders to customise the graphics vs FPS which makes many cards usable. It looks amazing, I just took down my first outpost with a alligator companion lol.

@doom-slayer Oh, by that you mean, uninstall this massive game and then repeatedly re-install it, perhaps reinstall your OS? or maybe fiddle with files that most punters should NEVER go near?
Mate, it's all been said about 100 times and getting very old...

I'm thinking that it's time to stop buying products from Ubisoft until they clean up their act. You should read the reviews by some of the biggest review websites, not good...

@neuropsychology Glad your enjoying your game mate. My purchase is a pre-order and I have the equivalent of your rig but mine is all ROG STRIX. (That's why i think it's all NVIDIA related).
I actually 'give up' trying to fault-find this mess and they have a week to get me playing or I will refund. There's plenty of other games to play and I am about to smash France in AC Valhalla, on ultra 2560x1440 averaging 90fps everywhere.
