@kushkills2469 yeah mine is on the drive with windows and it still doesnt work.
@yukiyoroi yep, thats the frustrating part. Every CS rep that I have gotten in contact with about this has asked if I use a MSSD and tbh I never even knew what they were before this issue started. I checked my system and confirmed that I don't have any, but when I say that, everyone just shrugs their shoulders and cannot help me further. Literally have scoured this forum for days looking for help and its super frustrating.
I, like many others, still cannot start the game after 24hrs of troubleshooting with no solution and no promise of a patch to fix this issue. Things I have tried:
Still the same thing-- crash error every time I try to load up the game. Why isn't this crash issue listed on the "known issues" thread?
Same here, I've tried every solution on every thread on this forum and still nothing works. Sucks that I got the $200 collectors edition of a game I can't even play. My PC is brand new as of this summer too so no reason that it shouldn't run smoothly. Really really upsetting.
@konksling123 So weird that some people are able to play temporarily before the crashes begin. Is it giving you the “oh no, it crashed” error? I have not been able to load the game even once. All I can do is wait for my escalated ticket to get a response now.
@kushkills2469 lucky, just tried my hhd too and still nothing
@beez_trees I'm in the same boat. Been on these forums for three days now trying every solution under the sun. Nothing has worked. Unless they patch it out, my chances of fixing it myself look slim. Really upsetting as I have been looking forward to this game since it was announced.
@woog_tx Thank you! Any and all info is appreciated. Been a very disappointing three days.
@andicole0 Many many people have had this issue since day 1, but now that the game has been out for a few days it looks like more people are reporting the issue despite having been able to start the game before. Its really weird and Ubisoft has yet to address the problem.
@beaudoinbros I can’t say Im happy with the solution but I’m relieved that I can finally play the game. For what its worth— I have Ubi Connect on the C drive and Valhalla on my separate NVME G: drive.
You guys... I fixed it. I literally had to reset windows. But I fixed it. At least for now. Knock on wood.
@staky000 I think youre the second person to have suggested this. Did you have it delete all of your files as well, or just reset Windows?
@beaudoinbros I just reinstalled Odyssey to test and see if it would still work. I left Ubi Connect on my C drive and downloaded Odyssey on my NVME. Booted up just fine. Definitely a problem with Valhalla specifically.
@hawkse The thing is, mine IS installed on the drive with Windows. And it still doesn't work.
@hectic_i3eastzz I wish I could get that far! Mine crashes before it even goes full screen.
@emmaj95 By the way-- I did uninstall EVGA Precision to see if that was the problem but I am still having the problem.
@trolsopol Though my ticket has been open for four days it was only just escalated yesterday. Hoping that if enough people have their tickets escalated it can get figured out. I'm not a game developer but I would think that immediate game crashes would be high on the priority list in terms of bugs.
@yukiyoroi Yep I have tried installing it on a SSD, an HDD, and an NVME drive and not been able to fix it.
