@AnimusLover Normally I'm usually in agreement with you right down the line on a lot of things Assassins Creed but in this case Ubisoft made it known through several interviews some with jorraptor you can find on youtube that new game + was, not might be, was coming that it would be the final thing they do for Valhalla and they strung us along for 2 years with that promise. Just when the game comes to an end it's,"oh golly gosh gumpers we just can't figure out how we can do it, which tells me they were never going to do it to begin with! They held out a carrot for 2 years to keep some gamers playing with an outright lie!!! To me this is not gamer entitlement this is gamers reacting angrily to being told one thing and then it having snatched away at the moment of truth! A lot of people and I mean a lot of people including me only kept Valhalla around with the hopes of being able to play new game+.How convenient Ubisoft chose to announce this after all the money had been made.It's kind of hard to trust a company that constantly preaches how they listen to the fans but when you look at their track record it's really always about the money, and this instance is no different!!!

@AnimusLover That's exactly my point, if the Ubisoft developers are so sensitive they can't handle criticism from the fan base then maybe they should find another job that doesn't tax their sensibilities so harshly.Although outright lying to the fan base had much less to do with stress and far more to do with all that beautiful money they would lose if people new new game + for certain wasn't coming.What is New game + anyway, is it not just being able to keep weapons and armor, the skill tree and leveling up, so what is this pallaber about "making new game + rewarding,"Not having to grind again for armor weapons and skill points is SUPPOSED to be the reward,no one was asking for anything extra!! Damn the cut scenes, it's new game + we've seen them already anyway and you physically have to go to the npcs to start the quests so honestly I don't see their problem. Other than apparently thinking all gamers are just idiots who can't understand anything about games other than how much the next AC title is going to costs us!!! Bottom line is they lied, they perpetuated that lie and then left us hanging with a bs excuse for not doing it, and why not....they got their money!

What is their to discover?Please enlighten me, Yeah you can build buildings in the game ,make a real nice town,but you can't interact with anyone,at least other than buying or selling something.Exactly what is the point of the cartographer? In the last game I played I never went to the cartographer once, and when I finally did there was one map available,all the others I had found on my own.The cartographer would have been much more effective if these were maps that held secret areas.Selling maps to areas that are already available on the map is stupid.The fishing is still bugged.the weapons and outfits are garbage and a complete waste of time to even bother with.You notice how in this game your life doesn't go back up like Odyssey and Origins, well just check out the Hels Damnation pack,you'll see the health is restored when the weapon is ignited,just have to pay 20 more dollars.Anyone want to lay odds that an outfit pack will be coming that negates fall damage?Just check out the Nilfheim pack,another 20 dollars and you can see some real critical damage!Valhalla was built completely around the helix store and will continue to be every 2 weeks when a new outfit will appear with stats that used to be normal....and FREE in the game!
This game has so far demonstrated nothing more than common greed.Anyone willing to bet me that when the next patch is released fishing will still be bugged,that the harpoon impalement will still hit only one out of 4 times if that.Every other Tuesday something new is put in the helix store that's working perfectly yet this game has been bugged since release,no patches for us!I wouldn't even classify this game as mediocre with all the problems it's experiencing,not too mention a non existent reward system with laughable ...I can't even call them armor without laughing so let's just call them rags.Has anyone even noticed that the hel's damnation pack has been in the store since release but has yet to be at Reda.No Origins and Odyssey were much better than this game Where the minds of the developers were on creating a fun game for the players,not just selling new outfits every 2 weeks!

For all Assassins Creed has taken from The Witcher 3 it just couldn't copy it's soul, it's ability to engage the players and literally give them something they've never seen before.The biggest problem for Valhalla at this point is no replayability what soever, there's nothing through the entire game for the player to say "wow, I want to play that again" instead, you're left disappointed, and not just from the numerous bugs within it, but with the lack of a good story or anything remotely exciting to do.not too mention it just sucks to have to keep starting from scratch, you actually dread replaying it not look forward to it. When I played through Odyssey ,I played continuously through all the content as well and I was never bored, and that game started 5 weeks earlier then Valhalla.After 2 months with Valhalla I quit playing,I had to to keep from burning out on so little to do or I wouldn't bother with the dlc. This game is a huge step back from Odyssey and Origins as well.And for people who keep saying "its to early to judge because more content is coming" A game is always judged through the base game because that is where the continuity has to come from to reach the new content. besides the fact that that statement alone pretty much mirrors the opinion the game doesn't have enough to sustain.

This is the very reason this game will never be fixed let alone ever be improved, "game of the year" If I weren't doubled over with laughter at that comment at the moment I'd probably be relisting all the dozens upon dozens of reasons it wasn't game of the year nor even considered.This game SUCKS. And thanks to people like you will never reach the status it could have reached because obviously your satisfied with lower mediocrity, Ubisoft knows this which is why the fishing hasn't been repaired since launch, why bugs still are plaguing the game, why there's no replayability whatsoever and why the so-called "free dlcs" have nothing but reskins and disappointments, why the game play is repetitive from beginning to end, why their is no story to speak of, why the sole redeeming value in this game is visuals.It's also why the support staff will only comment when someone says something positive about the game, look at the number of complaints within the posts, see how many have responded, game of the the year....thanks for the GREAT laughing jag....lol

Valhalla suffers enough from glitches that were never patched, short boring dlcs that add nothing but more of the same, IMO just a very bad example of an AC game.I tolerated that, played them through anyway in spite of my feelings toward them even through TFS which wasn't great but better than I expected. But I have beyond had it with those STUPID finishers which add absolutely nothing to the game.Ubisoft has the nerve to time aspects of TFS and then force people to do it through those STUPID finishers.How many of you have knocked down 3 or 4 enemies only to lose that by having to sit through a STUPID finisher.Not too mention the clock keeps ticking right on through. Nothings worse then being on a roll in a fight only to be inhibited by ...YES ...another STUPID finisher! If they actually removed them I suspect the combat in Valhalla would be much better and far more consistent!!

I've really reached the end of my rope with Ubisoft and their selective nonsense. Through 3 patches now several things in the game are still plagued with problematic bugs, fishing, the Mari lawd set still not coming off, and geez so many more! I keep seeing the same excuse given by their staunch supporters"you have to be patient, covid's really affected them."Well I got news for you covid has affected the entire world, Ubisoft is just fortunate to have a bank account deep enough to deal with it easier than the rest of us,not to mention covid doesn't seem to have affected their ability to continue grossly overpriced microtransactionsAt a time when it's been the hardest on people I guess it's fortunate that some companies get to pick and choose when they can use covid as the go to excuse for problems while still making tons of money.
For me, the worst thing is their silence,no info on release dates, no info on patch releases, no info on anything,just the usual dead air.I really feel bad for the people on the "can we solve this mystery thread." There people have spent hundreds if not thousands of unified hours trying to solve a mystery Ubisoft apparently has zero interest in,they can't even be bothered to acknow;ledge whether there's even anything to find...just dead air.In the mean time the developers should all be lining up and kissing their [censored] they've kept this already dying game alive for them, kept numerous people interested and playing while not a word from Ubisoft.

After playing the Outriders demo for a few days I decided to go back to Valhalla and do the weekly, btw Ubisoft on a side note, if you plan on running the dlc head to head with Outriders....lol, well, that chuckle says it all. Anywho I check my inventory to see how many opals I have and lo and behold almost a third of my gear I had maxed out, is now back to basic again...lol gosh what a surprise huh? You know what's not a surprise? Ubisoft releasing a patch to fix those little pink boxes,,,lol didn't take them long did it,As usual, they can be counted on to do whats in their own best interests! We can't fix the fish...we can't fix the saves...we can't fix the gear but...Wait, their getting something for free....QUICK a PATCH!!!!
For those of you still brain washed by Ubisofts politics that they actually give a damn about you or gamers or anything for that matter but the almighty dollar, should really take a look at Ubisofts track record for patches, if it's going to costs them money...it's patched first, If it costs us money, time or gear in the game or whatever it's...sorry for the inconvenience!!! Now I've already been told there's nothing they can do to fix my inventory, and to that I say to Ubisoft , If you squint your eyes reallllly tight, you might just be able to see what I'm doing but if you can't...Well hell I'll just tell you I'm smiling while giving you the FINGER, which also doubles as the next time I will ever waste money on a Ubisoft game. I've more than had a belly full of Valhalla BS and Ubisoft lame promises,for which I have no problem saying Ubisoft, you are liars, thieves and worse you are COWARDS!!!

@AnimusLover I really hate playing any kind of devils advocate for Valhalla because I just don't care for the game but it seems it was released way too fast.If I recall correctly it was due to come out at the same time as the new series x/s so it seems like it was rushed.I remember I couldn't even complete the game due to a major glitch which Ubisoft didn't bother fixing until their first update.That's one of the reasons I wanted new game + so much is because I like playing the entire game dlcs and all as a whole for a final time without the burden of grinding.Oh well can't have everything in life I guess!!!

@AnimusLover Not to mention the epic monster battles in Odyssey, an incredible weapons system and even more awesome outfits oh oh oh !!!!!!!! Odyssey was an absolute masterpiece which brings the question....what the hell happened to Valhalla???? I went back to playing origins for a while and the smoothness of the climbing was just worlds different another amazing game with one of the greatest dlcs ever in curse of the pharaohs!!! I have to admit, I have been so spoiled by open world games and the best ones are definitely the ones which follow true to the design of the times and there are not many better than Odyssey!!

@TheNorfolkian Hey I'm glad you're on, you remember the cave that old woman brought us to at the start of the mastery challenges, where there looked like there were 3 different doorways to other realms, did Ubisoft ever do anything with that or did they just leave it hanging?

I don't mean to be the proverbial downer to these posts but I think I'm going to pass on Mirage, not because I'm mad at Ubisoft or anything like that but as of late telling great stories hasn't been Ubisofts strongest suit.valhalla was just all over the place as far as storytelling while not really nailing anything down.The characters were as uninteresting as the story was and the leaps into the fanatsy elements were long, boring and uninspired.To say nothing of the technical problems which still haunt the game to this day.This time I think I'll just sit back and wait, if Mirage proves itself to be a good game with an equally good story then maybe at a later date I'll give it a shot, but for now I've just lost my desire to preorder anything from Ubisoft!!

Decisions decisions!! Should I get the complete edition, or should I get the ultimate edition, should I get the standard edition or the gold edition, maybe the almost complete super atomic no BS Basim edition, or maybe the gold platinum and brass bells edition, I hear that comes with a mango that sits on Basim's shoulder and asks for crackers.or the super titanium for certain everything included edition including a working kitchen sink edition(but no future dlcs) I know...the ultra super gold platinum titanium braided with silk bonnets edition, that comes with Basim disguised as a milk maid!!Or hey!!! the triple x super platinum playboy edition that comes with Basim with a sun tan and optional fig leaf. My God, the possiblities....oh the possiblities!!

You have to read between the lines S7igma, Ubisoft is essentially saying, we're not making a ton of money on these titles anymore, if you paid for the dlcs here's our middle finger our wants and needs come first!! When Ubisoft was just a little pissant company they'd go out of there way to make sure there games were playable and people were happy. Now they're worth billions of dollars making players happy is no longer on the agenda and making more money is.

I think the Mastery points may have had better use if they had put them toward abilities rather than skills. Some of the abilities are just downright awful as far as effectiveness goes, had they done that I think it would have encouraged people to try more abilities rather than stick with the same ones or not using them at all. I rarely use the abilities because either they just outright don't work or like the harpoon , most of the time just throws the enemy and does no damage,hardly useful!!! Creating a system where the mastery points are almost useless did nothing for the character or the game or most importantly give any encouragement to people to keep playing.
