Thanks but it’s really frustrating that we don’t have this information or a fix. The game is now discounted heavily from
many retailers and I find myself at the point where I have paid full price yet have a game that can’t be played due to this issue.
While I appreciate that issues can and do happen on a game of this scope both the time to reply to this and yet to implement a fix will definitely make me reconsider a purchase from you again in future.
Either in-game loot or real life compensation should be provided to those impacted by a game breaking bug.
I wouldn’t accept an issue of this nature with any other product that I purchase.

I’m starting to think there hasn’t been a fix as they may not be able to fix it without saying restart. Something has triggered that NPC to move (at least in my case) and if the game thinks it has started, I’m wondering if they’ll be able to reset it.
@Desante1-0 I'm afraid compensation is entirely at the discretion of the Assassin's Creed Valhalla team and is not something we in player support have any control over. I appreciate your concerns with regard to the game and would like to apologise once again for the issue. It is due to be fixed in an upcoming update, and I'll update everyone here with the exact patch details as soon as they become available.
Ok then, how do we get in contact with them? I thought this could be something the support team could engage with on our behalf.
Found a fix to this bug! Discover Lunden first by synchronizing the place and then walking to the guest location. Hope this helps!
Was really hopeful for this but didn’t work in my case unfortunately. Thanks for trying to help.
1).Take off all gear
2). Put it back on
3). Hide all gear except a helmet
4). Pull hood over head
this worked for me hope it works for someone else
This worked for me after the patch!
Hello all!
I apologies for the delayed update. Thank you for taking the time to continue updating this thread with your experiences of this issue. I'm sorry to hear that this issue still persists for some of you.
This development team has re-opened this investigation following reports that the issue persisted following TU 1.1.1. If you are still unable to enter Lunden when beginning "Walls and Shadows," please can you update this thread with which platform you use (PC/PS/Xbox), as well as a video that shows the issue persists on TU 1.1.1.
Additionally, the development team are interested in collecting the save files of affected players. If you play on PC/PS4, please can you open a support ticket and submit your save for investigation. Once you have done this, please share your ticket number within the thread so we can ensure that the data is passed on. Thanks!
Please note that several workarounds have been suggested by players within this thread, so I would recommend taking a look at earlier posts. You can take a look at this , or , which show you steps on how to avoid encountering this issue in-game. We have also had reports that deactivating the quest and walking up to where the marker was can trigger the cutscene that starts "Walls and Shadows."
@Desante1-0 - If the Assassin's Creed: Valhalla team decides to offer compensation, this news will be shared on our official webpages and via a notification in-game.
@wunschel16 - I'm sorry to hear you're encountering this issue when trying to start "Walls and Shadows." If possible, would you be able to open a support ticket and upload your save file for further investigation? If you can include a video that shows this issue happening after TU 1.1.1 as well, that would be really helpful! Thank you!
@Sai34587 - If possible, would you be able to send us a video that shows the issue persisting following TU 1.1.1? Thanks!
@Kenobi5745 - I'm sorry to hear you're unable to speak to Randvi. As this issue is about being unable to start "Walls and Shadows," would you be able to find a more suitable thread regarding this issue? If you're unable to find one, please can you open up one of your own? This way, we can keep the investigations separate and prevent miscommunication. Thank you!
The question of compensation isn’t as a hope they do something out of the goodness of their heart, it’s more an expectation as a result of releasing a broken game.
Again, if I bought a car and it couldn’t proceed beyond 20mph/kmph... do you think that would be ok?
I don’t think it’s fair to compare it to THAT other game but if the game itself blocks multiple owners from progressing then I would still argue that it’s a broken game therefore does not and can not fulfil its intended use.

Has the bug been fixed in patch 1.1.1?
Worked for me on PS5

Same issue for me on PS5 disc edition. Did side missions before attempting the main quest and the NPC is no longer there. I do think the the comment about the bridge came while I was completing a side mission which is why it won’t trigger now.
